Analysing the Spiritual and Material Mess of SRCMtm

An Attempt at analysis by Alexis on Elodie' s Blog called "the Desperate Abhyasi" or in French: "Pour Que Vive le Sahaj Marg"

Let us try to recapitulate all these testimonials a little where the conditional tense is the setting:

In 1974, Babuji would have written a letter naming Chari chair of the SRCM. KC Narayana recognizes the authenticity of this letter but insists on the absence of the term “spiritual representative”. Umeshchandra Saxena says that it is a counterfeit, sheets with the heading of the SRCM would have been stolen and they would have been used to carry out this false document.

In 1980-82, Babuji would have removed Chari of all his functions and named his own son Umeshchandra Saxena chair and spiritual representative in 1982. KC Narayana says that this letter is a forgery. Babuji would have also written a “private and confidential” letter to MD Jahagirdar where it alleges that Chari to have tried on several occasions to make an attempt on “his days” during the 8 last years. He also announces there that he has named his successor (he does not specify who) and a committee of 4 people: SP Srivastava, Kashik RAM Agarwal, KC Narayana and Nasib Chand.

Babuji dies in 1983. Umeshchandra says that Chari poisoned him during his return trip from Paris to India. Chari takes out his letter proving that he is the successor of Babuji and claims to have undergone a poisonning attempt during his stay at Shahjahanpur. Umeshchandra Saxena also shows his own letter. The committee of work rejects Chari’s letter (what does he say of Umeshchandra’s letter?).

SP Srivastava is named president of the Working Committee. Chari creates his own SRCMtm, a society registered in (San Lui Obispo) California. What does Umeshchandra do during this time? Chari, develops his SRCMtm primarily in the west.

KC Narayana leaves it in 1991 to create the ISRC. SP Srivastava, at the head of the SRCM Shahjahanpur, publishes the 2nd part of the autobiography of Babuji. In 1994, SP Srivastava leaves his place to Umeshchandra Saxena. One of its preceptors left in the USA creates a website “sahajmarg.org” where he publishes the two letters of nomination. A legal battle ensues between the 2 SRCM’s. The commission for attribution of domain names gives reason to Umeshchandra in 2000. But faced with the legal proceedings of Chari, he lowers his arms (gives up).

Umeshchandra dies of “un-natural causes” in 2003. His son Navneet KUMAR Saxena succeeds to him. In March-April 2006, Chari’s SRCMtm seizes the ashram of Shahjahanpur. Navneet creates a new website in Janurary 2007, where he reopens the hostilities.

The continuation in the next episodes!

In parallel, Smt Kasturi Chaturvedi propagates the teaching of Babuji, without making any noise and without denying anything…

Attempt at analysis

Among all the facts which are described, are there any truths in them? Are there false ones? We do not have any means of knowing and we will never know with certainty. It will be the same for all new testimonials, and all the precisions of details which will be provided. That will enable us to supplement a historical table with the conditional one. It is thus finally without much interest, because each one will have to formulate his/her own opinion…

More interesting is the quarrel in itself and the various protagonists whom it clarifies little by little. One saw emerging from the shadows SP Srivastava, Umeshchandra Saxena. One could add Kashik RAM Agarwal, KC Narayana and Nasib Chand, or even MD Jahagirdar, Raghavendra Rao and Ramachandra Reddy…

The certainty is that there are at least two clans as Michael says, and that they accuse one another of the most heinous crimes. Their various testimonials or that of their closest relations will enable us to specify the contours of these clans, their points of confrontation. But the main lesson of all this matter, in a few words: how can a great Master like Babuji and his supposedly marvellous teaching - Sahaj Marg - could generate such decrepid individuals, who not being simple abhyasis, but people who claim the succession of the Master? Only one answer: the great Master and/or the method were already rotten! But it is also that there were some “damned” interests at play there since 1974-82 that such individuals with such behaviors would appear: money? power???

We are running a spiritual society, Shri Ram Chandra Mission. It was started by my Grandfather, Shri Ram Chandra ji maharaj of Shahjahanpur. He left his physical body in 1983.

After leaving his physical body One of his disciples came up with a forged nomination which evident from the document itself to a layman with typewriting used twice and even the printed name of socity of emblem are not in aligned to each other as is in case of Printed letter heads. Moreso no where in text has he been nominated as the President of the society Shri Ram Chandra Mission. These are only some of the startling facts of the document.

There was however a nomination given by the founder in name of my father Sh. Umesh Chandra which was in line with constitution & byelaws of the society then registered way back in 1945. He was accepted as president in 1984 by the Managing Committee of the society.

Law of UP Society Act changed in 1984 to election since then we are following the law and after Sh. Umesh Chadra ji's unnatural death in 2003 his son Navneet Kumar have been elected as the President by the Elected body.

Atrocities of the disciple claiming President ship in 1984 increased ever since I have taken over. he started a parallel society in the same name with its Head Quarters at Chennai.

We are seeking justice ever since 1984. but are not getting the same from all the courts because of reasons below:

He has appointed sitting and ex judges of Allahabad High court in his legal committee, Sitting & Ex IAS officers, Businessman, Foreign Nationals, and Retd. IPS Officers who seemingly are not only influencing the judicial but also Administrative Authorities, who on our face agree that we are talking legal but who either dismiss out petitions or give judgements/orders against us. Many a times if u notice the findings they are in our favour but judgement is not. Moreover he has aides of fund and money from India and abroad too.

He claims himself as Guru but as per the literature of my grandfather there shall be no more Guru other than him. Others shall be his successors and he shall act through the spiritual representative. Moreover even his literature and his last letter clearly states that he has not appointed the Alleged disciple as his successor and that he has nominated his spritual representative in Direct ine of succession which was as per the constitution & Bye law of the society and the act at the time of his physical demise.

Moreso the alleged disciple has also changed the constitution to suit him, but the change fortunately has not been accepted by the Registrar of Societies.

Aides of the said alleged claimant have not only harassed us mentally but also attempted on our lives several times as the alleged disciple had done with his Guru. Which is clearly evident from the notorised last letter of the founder president Shri Ram Chandra ji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur.

He has been misguiding the public at large since over Two decades now. This is being continued due to delayed justice.

Recently last year his aides Ex IPS Officer, Ex IAS Officer and Ex Judicial Officers came in into our Ashram with 150 people and attacked wife of Sh. Umesh Chandra, who is above 60 years of age and Sh. Amresh Kumar the Ashram Incharege who is about 65 years of age in presence of Police security which was provided by then DM & SP of Shahjahanpur. On the plea of the victims being beaten by the crowd also the police did not move a wee bit and people who opposed were beaten and pushed out of Ashram by Police officials. The police and Administration of Shahjahanpur, UP supported them there was a call from Mrs. Umesh Chandra's son to the SP too when the incident was taking place as someone informed her son about the incident on his mobile, who was at Mumbai at that point of time. SP refused to offer help and stated I cannot do anything sorry. and he later stopped picking up his phone.

Both sufferred injuries and they were taken by our advocate who arrived at the incident spot a while later were taken toand went to the Civil Hospital where the Medical report clearly states that they were beaten had bruises and with possibility of internal injury. The victims went to the police station to file FIR they refused to register saying No One in Shahjahanpur will file your FIR. They faxed the FIR to the DM copy to the Chief Secretary of UP and later even to the court. But the FIR is not filed as yet. The case is pending at this point of time too.

There have been incidents of even placing High Court of Allahabad orders in district court even before the hearing of case at the High court took place and the order was released. This was reported with proof to the CJI. CJI has ordered enquiry which also we know would die its unnatural death as other enquiries of the President of India, Vice President of India, The Prime Minister of India has died its unnatural injustice death.

If such a a person claims to be spiritual GURU like personality how humanely is he acting can be visible but no action whatsoever by the Authorities, People at large or even Media is taking place.

We have a feeling that since Media is not getting active even after our regular followups and requests to enter into the issue as a common man cannot even live peacefully in this country with citizens who are responsible for degrading the system of the society and the country.

So where is the justice without media intervention as the justice is in hands of the higher ups and people having contacts in this country.

We have left things to Supreme court today hoping that justice may be given at this Apex court atleast.

The Founding Myth of SRCM Part 2 of Research Paper

Part 2- The FOUNDING MYTH of SRCM

This is the result of many years of research in many languages and will be the definitive historical perspective of the SRCMtm Sufi lineage from outside the Mission. (first draft for comment).

The research was compiled and written by Alexis who was also the main researcher along with Christian, Michael, Elodie and Madeleine and many more, with information coming from many other outside sources in the broader community. (See Bibliographical Sources)

Taken from Elodie's Blog date Feb 8, 2007 titled: Le Mythe Founateur http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=20689467&postID=116998012087735021
Translated using "Google Translate".

The Founding Myth (by Elodie)

Alexis thinks that we can write the continuation of the history of Sahaj Marg. That seems me to be an ambitious but essential task. I remind you that you can read the beginning of it:
- in French on Alexis’s blog http://shriramchandramission.blogspot.com/
- in English on 4d-don’s blog http://4d-don.blogspot.com/

According to what I understabd, he will structure the text in several parts:

1st Part: The Source of the Legend (see above)
2nd Part:The Founding Myth (it is the outline which he sends, to supplement seriously)
3rd Part: The Seasons of Divisions
4th Part: National(ist) Re-focussing

His questions about the first appearance of the word “Sahaj Marg” deserves our attention.

I hold the pretention that one should be able to write the continuation of the history of Sahaj Marg. That will be done only gradually, I count very much on Christian’s reading of the (new) “Autobiography of Babuji” to supplement the history and on everyone making improvements. Here is a first draft that I submit to you…

2nd Part: of Research Paper: The Founding Myth

1- Babuji the Founder

a) The Premise (1922-31)

Babuji meets Lalaji on June 3, 1922 and does not see him more than (approximately) 3 other times. On the other hand, he dreams of Lalaji and Baqi Billah, but he is afraid of the reactions of his parents who fear a possible conversion with Islam.

According to the ISRC, fusion begins shortly after the death of Lalaji (“has great flow of power”) and it continues on the following October 12. There is a great vacuum until 1944, but he apparently attended very often the Ramashram Satsang of Dr. Chaturbhuj and that of Shri Krishna Lal in Sikandarabad. He also dreams that he goes to Kanpur, the home-base of Raghubal Dayal’s family.

He thus will hesitate for nearly 14 years before beginning his work.

b) The Foundation (1944-55)

i) Transfer of Power

The activities begin again in April 1944, according to the ISRC, where Babuji prays for several days that his Master (Lalaji) shows him the light, much like Moses on the Mount Sinai. In the 2nd part of his autobiography, published posthumously by the SRCM of Shajahanpur, one can read on May 22, 1944 these remarks attributed to Lalaji: "Shahjahanpur will be the Centre. Light will be reaching everybody from here (…) You are still so young. You have achieved at such a young age what could not be the lot of so many great and high personalities (…) The powers of the enemies are weakened. Now they can do no harm to you (…) I am merged in you, and hence remain dependent on Him [Lalaji's Master] alone in every matter. He loves you."

Then next on May 30: “Start the organization. Begin attracting people to yourself.”
And on June 3: “Instructions concerning organization (…).”

Chari speaks evasively about 1944-45 without specifying.

But in Volume 2 of the autobiography of Babuji published by the SRCM®, one finds on August 6, 1944: Lalaji ordered. "There should be an announcement in the Bhandara that I (Lalaji) have appointed you, Ram Chandra of Shajahanpur, as my heir-apparent and representative (…) Those who oppose you shall not derive any benefit for me." (1st English edition, p. 20).

ii) Competitors and Enemies

During this period, in the editorial notes of S.P. Srivastava in the 2nd volume published by the SRCM of Shajahanpur, there is confirmation that Babuji would be surrounded by competitors and enemies, who go as far as trying to poison or assassinate him (at least in his intercommunication dreams with Lalaji-after his death): "Some persons, physically and socially close to Revered Lalaji, had claimed to be His representative and successor, and they were trying somewhat deliberately to harm and even do away with the physical existence of Grand Master's real representative in every possible way, including the use of certain spiritual techniques. Some other quite well advanced disciples of the Grand Master, being averse to the false claims due to obvious lack of real effect, had started setting up organisations more or less in allegiance to the Grand Master, but centred mainly around these so-called advanced disciples as visible personalities to guide the multitudes attached to them on the age-old path of spirituality, as brought to them by the Grand Master, who had passed out of physical existence on August 14/15 (midnight), 1931."

iii) Creation of Sahaj Marg and the SRCM

According to the SRCM®, on August 14, 1944, he solicits also Swami Vivekananda, Lord Krishna and Bouddha himself. It is apparently Vivekananda who gave him his instructions for the creation of the emblem of the SRCM.

On May 30, 1945, the SRCMis finally officially created in Shajahanpur and is registered in Lucknow, capital of the state (Uttar Pradesh).

Also, according to the SRCM®, Babuji largely conceived his method of transmission on January 3, 1946, and Lalaji dictated the words of the prayer to him on January 12. Lastly, he wrote his first book “Commentary on the Ten Commandments of Sahaj Marg”, which apparently was also dictated to him by Lalaji according to the ISRC. In 1947, his second book arrives: “Efficacy of Rajayoga in the Light of Sahaj Marg”, proof that he had already begun the bringing together of Raja Yoga and Sahaj Marg, a fact that Dr. K.C. Varadachari would later confirm.

During the period 1948-49, various known people such as S.P. Srivastava, professor of philosophy and M.L. Chaturvedi, judge at the High the Court of Justice d' Allahabad, then his daughter Kum Kasturi Chaturvedi, are introduced and become close to Babuji.

c) The Recognition (1955-65)

In 1955, the release of his book “Reality At Dawn” which became very popular (according to ISRC) brought about his meeting with Dr. K.C. Varadachari, professor of philosophy to Tirupati that later developed into a deep friendship.

In 1963, K.C. Varadachari obtains the prestigious Vivekananda Chair at the University of Madras. In 1965, he created the Sahaj Marg Research Institute, which dessiminates information that Sahaj Marg is no more nor less than Raja Yoga.

2- Specifics of Sahaj Marg

Vis-a-vis the other successors of Lalaji, Babuji is characterized by:

- Sahaj Marg is a creation of Babuji, or at best, possibly inspired by Lalaji if his inter-communications (beyond the grave) are accepted
- Lalaji has one official heir, Babuji
- The link with the Sufism is hardly evoked
- The link with the Raja Yoga is reinforced
- The disciple must stick to a single Master

The Source of the Legend -SRCM/Sufi Lineage- Part 1 of Research Paper

This is the result of many years of research in many languages and will be the definitive historical perspective of the SRCMtm Sufi lineage from outside the Mission. (first draft for comment).

The research was compiled and written by Alexis who was also the main researcher along with Christian, Michael, Elodie and Madeleine and many more, with information coming from many other outside sources in the broader Sufi community. (See references below for more details on the bibliographical sources)

Taken from Elodie's Blog (in the comments section to article "Une Premiere Circulaire de Tiripur" dated Jan 27, 07) http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=20689467&postID=116998012087735021

Intro (Alexis said)

With much delay, here my small summary of the legend of the origins. It is yet but a base, it will obviously be evolutionary according to the information that will come to us.

I wanted to check various things before posting from whence this delay. Arvind Jolly does not answer my questions and Naqshmumra ceased any contact after the very first ones.

Fortunately RK Gupta is much more accessible. I count on 4d for a translation in English on his blog, in order to send it for information and comments to RK Gupta, but also to Dahnhardt.

I count very much on Christian for the continuation of the history thanks to his reading of the autobiography of Babuji, the founder of the myth Sahaj Marg…

THE ARTICLE

About the sources of Sahaj Marg

(Last version: September 22, 2007)

The current official legend within the SRCM® affirms that Sahaj Marg is a ex-nihilo creation of Lalaji who transmitted it to its only legitimate successor, Babuji. Historical research recently undertaken starts to tell a very different story.

1 Prehistoric origins of Sahaj Marg

Lalaji was first and foremostl the disciple of a Sufi Master, but perhaps he also drew a little of his inspiration from the Hindu Masters of Santmat. He probably did not follow the teachings of one single Master; also, he had many disciples and charged many with spreading his teachings.

a) The Naqshbandiyya Sufi Order

The Sufi order of Naqshbandiyya penetrated in India in the 16th century, after other brotherhoods like Chishtiyya, Suhrawardiyya and Qâdiriyya. In 1526, Baber, descendant of Gengis Khan, founds the dynasty of the Great Mongols. In his footsteps, Baqi Billah (deceased about 1598), 24th Master of the Sufi line is established in Delhi. His successor Shaykh Ahmad Farouqi Sirhindi is the creator of a new Sufi order, Naqshbandiyya Mujaddidiyya. The Mongols reign as absolute Masters in India, Sufi teaching is very strict.

3. Salman al-Farsi
4. Qassim ibn Muhammad ibn Abou Bakr
5. Jafar as-Sadiq
6. Tayfour Abou Yazid al-Bistami
7. Aboul Hassan Ali al-Kharqani
8. Abou Ali al-Farmadi
9. Abou Yaqoub Youssouf al-Hamadani
10. Aboul Abbas, al-Khidr
11. Abdoul Khaliq al-Ghoujdawani
12. Arif ar-Riwakri
13. Khwaja Mahmoud al-Anjir al-Faghnawi

The 16th century marks the apogee then the decline of the Mongols.

The Marathes, Indians of the west towards Maharashtra, benefit from it to create a Hindu kingdom in 1674. They become the Masters of India at the beginning of the next century. In this context, Mirza Mazhar “Zanzana” (1701-1781), disciple of the 28th Master of the Sufi line, creates a new branch of the order, Mazahariyya, an attempt at syncretism between the 4 Indian Sufi brotherhoods and certain traditional Hindu teaching. The Sufi order resulting from Mirza Mazhar is firmly established in Uttar Pradesh, an area in northern India.

31. Hadhrat Mawla' Na Muradullah
32. Hadhrat Sayyed Abul Hasan Sa' eed r.a
33. Hadhrat Mawla' Na Khalifa Ahemad Ali Khan

b) The Hujur-Lalaji Couple

After the Mongols and Marathes, India comes under British domination. Resistance against the invader is organized from within the religious communities in spite of calls for the unity of the Indian people by Gandhi. The end of the 19th century is marked by the Community regrouping, in particular in Uttar Pradesh from where will emerge the Indian national Congress in 1885 and the seeds of the Moslem League (1906) until the partition of 1947.

In this context of inter-religious tension, and contrary to their famous predecessors, Maulana Shah Fazl Ahmad Khan (Hujur or Huzur Maharaj) and his disciple Ramchandra Lalaji try a new synthesis of the Hindu teaching and the Sufi teaching, completely against current of the recent history dominated by the religious community regrouping.

34. Maulana Shah Fazl Ahmad Khan (1838 or 57-1907)
35. Maulana Abdul Ghani Khan (1867-1952)
36. Mahatma Ramchandra Laalaaji (1873-1931)

Lalaji becomes the first Hindu Master of this Sufi Order, without having to convert to Islam.

The image is very strong, but it masks a work of much more important by the Hujur-Lalaji couple on their spiritual teaching. They did not only overflow the religious barriers as had done Mirza Mazhar, but according to Thomas Dähnhardt, they intentionally highlighted equivalences between the Sufi and Hindu spirituality to abolish the inter-religious boundaries.

c) A Multitude of Legitimate Successors

As previously seen, Sufism consists of a multitude of orders, branches and streams. The same applies in the Indian traditions where the guru, Sant Pîr and other great spiritual personalities have many legitimate successors who have themselves several Masters.

It is also what Lalaji would have done, as a disciple, starting with Sufism and continuing with the practice of Sant Mat and of Radhasoami. And according to NaqshMuMRa Nexus, he would have had 212 disciples whom he charged with spreading his teaching called “Naveen Sadhana” in their respective areas, while inviting them to also follow other Masters.

The list of the movements which result is rather long (NaqshMuMra Nexus lists 8 of them), here are some among the most known:

- NaqshMuMRa, contraction of Naqshbandiyya Mujaddidiyya Mazhariyya Ramchandriyya, new branch of the order soufi, resulting from Lalaji and controlled by his direct descendants.

- Ramashram Satsang, a nebula of geographical groups, with local Hindu Masters.

- Akhil Bhartiya Santmat Satsang (ABSS), founded in 1969 in Anangpur (District of Faridabad in Haryana) by the disciple of a nephew of Lalaji.

- The Golden Delicious Sufi Center (California), alternative of the Sufi Order passing through another nephew of Lalaji

Other famous personalities also claim lineage from Lalaji, such as Thakur RAM Singhji or Doctor Chandra Gupta. It is also necessary to mention the movement "Saral Hari Marg" of Dr. Harnarayan Saxena (1908-2003), also asserting lineage from Lalaji, which made a short appearance on the Web before disappearing from it.

There remains finally the direct current apparently resulting from Lalaji (in a dream) which was created most tardily (13 years after Lalji's death), namely the "Sahaj Marg" of RAM Chandra of Shahjahanpur (Babuji), in 1945. But that is another story!

So that his teachings spread, Lalaji entrusted several of his disciples the care of disseminating it in their respective areas.

i) The family of Lalaji and NaqshMuMRa

Lalaji did not follow alone the teachings of Hujur, his Master, but did so with his brother Raghubal Dayal (1875-1947), also called Chachchaji. Also, both had children who spread their teachings. Lalaji had 2 sons and 8 girls, but only one of them (sons) came to my knowledge (showed up in my research). It is Jagmohan Narain (1901-44).

He (Jagmohan Narain) had 2 sons: Akilesh KUMAR (1941-74) and Dinesh KUMAR Saxena (born in 1944). This latter one had a son Himanshu Vikram, who is the administrator of his website “NaqshMuMRa Nexus”. All are from Fatehgarh (District of Farrukhabad - Uttar Pradesh).

Raghubal Dayal (aka Chachaji Maharaj) had 3 sons: Brij Mohan Lal (aka Hudurwala) (1898-1955), Radha Mohan Lal (1900? - 1966) and Jyotendra Mohan Lal. All this family is established in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh). Radha Mohan Lal and his wife Sushila Devi had 3 sons: Virendra Nath, Satendra Nath and “Baboo” Narendra Nath Saxena. (Note: Apparently, there is another son of Rhada Moan Lal Sri Ravindra Nath Saxsena. He is the only living son of Bhai Sahib. He is 75 now and lives in Kanpur. He is the only child from Bhai Sahib’s first marriage. Bhai Sahib also had 2 daughters. The oldest, Durga, is gone. Sushila Devi apparently named her 2nd son, Satendra to succeed his father.

Lalaji, 36th Master of the Sufi lineage is also the first Hindu Master of a new branch of the Ramchandriyya Order. In summary, NaqshMuMRa stands for Naqshbandiyya Mujaddidiyya Mazhariyya Ramchandriyya. It is the family lineage where his (Lalaji's) brother succeeds him for a time before relinquishing the place to his (Lalaji’s) son, Jagmohan Narain then successively to his (Lalaji’s) 2 grandsons.

37. Raghubar Dayal (Chachchaji) Ji Maharaj (1875-1947)
38. Jagmohan Narain Ji Saaheb (1901-1944)
39. Akhilesh KUMAR Ji (1941-1974)
40. Dinesh KUMAR Saxena, (born on October 28, 1944)

ii) Ramashram Satsang

Lalaji did not only have disciples in his family. He apparently had 212 (disciples) according to NaqshMuMRa Nexus, including 9 “functionaries” and 8 organizations would have been given the responsibility to spread his teachings.

The main one is the stream of the “Ramashram’s”. This movement would be managed from Fatehgarh by Ramashram Sansthan of which I did not find a trace, but from I gathered, we could be refering to NaqshMuMRa. It has at least 5 other local variations: prefixes “Ramashram Satsang” + suffix “place name”.

One thus finds in Uttar Pradesh:

-Ramashram Satsang Etah founded in 1923 by Dr. Chaturbhuj Sahai (1883-1957), then moved to Mathura in 1951, the movement is still very active today
- Ramashram Satsang Sikandarabad founded by Dr. Shri Krishna Lal in 1921
- Ramashram Satsang Shyam Nagar founded by Shri Ranaji Saheb a few kilometres from Gursahaiganj, in the district of Kannauj
- Ramashram Satsang Ghaziabad
- Ramashram Satsang in Jaipur in the neighbouring Rajasthan, founded by Thakur RAM Singhji (1898-1971), another movement that is still active today.

iii) Other Current Streams and Known Personalities

Brij Mohan Lal (called Dadda Ji), son of Raghubal Dayal and nephew of Lalaji, had a disciple named Yashpal Ji or Pujya Bhai Sahab ji (1918 -?). This one founded “Akhil Bhartiya Santmat Satsang” (ABSS) in 1969 in Anangpur (District of Faridabad in Haryana).

Radha Mohan Lal (sometimes called Guruji), also son of Raghubal Dayal and nephew of Lalaji, had several known disciples who attained a certain amount of fame

Dr. Chandra Gupta, who also often frequented Thakur RAM Singhji
(see RK Gupta website: http://www.geocities.com/sufisaints/)

Irina Tweedie (1907-1999), founder of the “Golden Sufi Center” in California, which draws up very a totally different lineage than that of the NaqshMuMRa, by erasing Hujur and Lalaji to insert only Radha Mohan Lal, and herself (and her successor) obviously). Irina Tweedie's book Daughter of Fire, published by the Golden Sufi Center describes her Sufi training by Radha Mohan Lal, whom she calls Bhai Sahib. The Golden Sufi Center in California is the vehicle for the work of the Naqshbandiyya-Mujaddidiyya Order of Sufism in the West.

29. Mîrzâ Mazhar Jânjânân
30. Na'îmullâh Bahrâichî
31. Muradulla
32. Abul Hasan
33. Ahmad Ali Khan
34. Abdul Gani Khan
35. Radha Mohan Lal (Bhai Sahib)
36. Irina Tweedie
37. Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

Still remaining is the current directly resulting from Lalaji which was created much later, namely the Sahaj Marg of Ram Chandra, Babuji, in 1945. But that is another story! There is also the Saral Hari Marg of Dr. Harnarayan Saxena.

2 Syncretism of the Teachings

According to Thomas Dähnhardt, Hujur, the Sufi and Lalaji, the Hindu, voluntarily set up a syncretic spiritual teaching to abolish the barriers between religions. The 11 principles of Naqshbandiyya preached already the silent meditation on the heart and the constant remembrance of the Divine presence. The Master pours divine energy into the heart of his disciple by liberating him from his impure thoughts. The principal responsibility for the spiritual evolution of the candidate rests in the hands of his Master, provided that he comes into daily contact with his guru by the means of the meditation (morning, evening and before sleeping).

Their successors proceeded in this way by dissociating practice and the spiritual theory. The practice remained nearly identical, while the theory remained Islamic with the adherents of the Sufi Order whereas it was re-hindu-ised in the “Ramashram” stream. The terms in Arabic or Persan were replaced by their Sanskrit or Hindi equivalents. The references to the Q’uran and Muhammed were replaced by the Upanishads and Lord Krishna.

This work had previously been completed already by Kabir providing the foundations of Santmat in 15th century, but also before him by the other famous unknown, Sufism, spreading its roots into Hinduism, and conversely. It still remains, no less, that no other group denies the respective historical contributions of the two religions and all speak about the various Masters who are at their origins. No group except Babuji’s Sahaj Marg…

Intrigues from Lalaji to Babuji Beyond the Grave!

Intrigues at the beginning of SRCM continue today

This is from Christian's blog under the Sufism Section.

Here are a series of inter-communications or messages delivered by Lalaji to Babuji (from beyond the grave)

They highlight a threat on Babuji, although this appears as a complete fantasy at first sight.

In a spiritual design of the world, human beings influence one another positively and/or in a harmful manner, but what is more surprising, is that even advanced/elevated people have this capacity and this sinister will to influence others negatively.

What gives me a “cold on the back of the neck”, is when I think that one puts his heart in the hands of people like the prefects and the preceptors. In addition, certain sentences reveal a surprising design of the management of the conflicts (absence of pity, do not forgive, to fight, etc), whereas one imagined the spiritual Master being supposedly full of love, to solve the conflicts by his light.

I understand better, also, why these texts, initially, were not to be published. They reveal such an amount of humanity. I appreciate the courage of those who made the decision to publish them nevertheless.

Lastly, certain passages stress the transmission of the torch, but also of the lineage from the Master of Lalaji. At this stage, there is no reason why it disappeared from circulation as it did.

pp. 7-8 18 May 1944

"When you have given your heart to someone, you have to receive that person's benedictory or accursed gifts to you."

"About you, he had the hint that there was possibility of you clashing with him sometime. He did not like you coming to me. When all other means were unsuccessful, prayers were offered to your Revered Grand Master that you may be kept devoid of spiritual progress. This was very much disliked by Him and this became the cause of His displeasure. An attempt was made for cancellation of your initiation; and stories were narrated to you.

Action against him had to be taken in accordance with the permission of the Grand Master. Do go to His Samadhi, when conveninent. (...) You were induced through thought to sexual indulgence. Where there was no success by any means, images of naked women were thrust into your heart. (...) A woman and you were taken in thought, as copulating, so that you commit such act. This was his last attempt to degrade you. (...) He tried so much to pull you down, and it never occurred to his mind that God's will alone triumphs ultimately. The matters have been brought to your knowledge, so that you may not be moved to feel mercy."

A hidden enemy of Babuji. His name is not revealed.

pp. 9-10 19th May 1944

“I shall feel relief when you shall take over the responsability.”

Transmission of the torch with Babuji.

"When your diary was put forth for publication, your name was excluded from it. (...) They were apprehensive that people may become inclined to you, and they may lose their source of livelihood."
"I kept you concealed in my heart, and did not let anybody suspect it. Only R got and has the idea, because he was connected to my state (...). I had consideration for his poverty, and hence structured a status for him. So he started living like a man of status. Greed was increased and God was totally forgotten. (...) At R's place money was wasted for pleasure and luxury. (...) There was no consideration for the poor. Rich people were given consideration."

About the hidden enemies of Babuji.

"Have consideration for my old age."

For me incomprehensible: Lalaji died. Would it be a representation of Lalaji, in the head of Babuji, which would be speaking to him?

p12 20th May 1944

"Somebody may shower thousands of abuse on you, but you have to tolerate that. This means that if someone abuses you, you can also abuse in return, and even hit back and strike, but never wish anything ill for that person from your heart (...) If occasion demands, there is no harm even in having an armed conflict. (...) To give protection to an innocent victim of tyrany is duty. You have to take out the sword at the hour of need, even then there is nothing wrong."

It is necessary to be defended pitilessly when necessary. I admit it, conceive it, but I practice with much difficulty because I often lack the courage. It is always easy to pass for being tolerating when one is afraid in reality.

In any case, it is far from the Judeo-Christian teaching of modern SRCMtm, which does not even tolerate internal criticism.

pp. 14-18 22nd May 1944

“They are trying to upset your mind.”

The Enemies.

“You considered even theft and robbery for have me right.”

Extreme and immoral. Surprising.

"Possibly, M may come to you, even though there is little hope for this. Do not pardon him, only avoid doing anything, in such eventuality."

“Shahjahanpur will Be the Center. Light will Be reaching everybody from here.”

"You are still so young. You have achieved at such a young age what could not be the lot of so many great and high personalities."

"The powers of ennemies are weakened. Now they can do no harm to you."

"I am merged in you, and hence remain dependent on Him [Lalaji's Master] alone in every matter. He loves you."

Transmission of the torch.

Testimonial of Modern-day (mystical) Transmission in Sufi (Islam)

The site is managed by his grandson, Dinaysh.

Hello,

Pir-o-murshid,

Thank you so much for your really kind message and the information on NaqshMuMRa It's really helpful and means a lot especially to me. What a pity that God's message which came in various different forms in Hinduism, Christianity, Islam etc to unite people rather people miss-understood the message and fought wars and divided people. I have an affection love for Sri Lord Krishna, Jesus Christ and Hazrat prophet Mohammad etc. I once saw a group of dervishes in my dream and im my heart love was sprung up and I also felt as If I’m next to Jelalauddin Rumi.

I'm very careful to who I talk to about esotericis but I fully have trust and no dounts could ever come into my mind about you. I have a dream to tell you about.

Very long time ago at least nearly a year ago I felt really sorry for how not only Mullahs that teach Islam to Muslims but also Islam followers hardly understand much about the life of Prophet Mohammad and I did a prayer invoking all the saints that brang a religious message from God and the same night in a dream I found my self right inside Mecca Madina and I felt as if Prophet Mohammad is there He appeared in a flash of light and I was enlightened and received esoteric transmission in a very emotional state of fear and it removed all the impurities in me and then love for the God and my heart was filled with so such powerful Ruhanniya and I felt a exisless state of total merging into the divine source and It was so powerful that i totally forget myself, though I belong to the Hindu faith Hazrat Prophet Mohammad did not even have a single problem for giving me the moment of enlightment . Hazrat Prophet Mohammad words, smile and his presence of him a true dervish was making me cry but a strong power did not allow it. just through his emotional way of smiling was enough my heart could only keep on feeling love. In mecca i did not see millions of people but I only saw 1000 companions of him and he commented there your protection. I felt as if i received many initiations from him in my dream from being really gross and evil to the divine presence I went through each stage from bad to holy and when he flashed and disappeared I saw nothing but only self-realisation of merginig into God as one.

I know that It was a dream and maybe God-forgive me if I wrote anything that which did not happen. I know It was a dream but maybe you could know more of what this is about.

I requested a dream meeting with prophet Mohammad but instead I received the blessing to give and serve this humanity all that it deserves with no consideration of any outer distinction of race, religion etc even atheists and he blessed me with spreading my words to people that will benefit from me but most people only judge me by my appearance. It's a pity I always fall in love with saints, dervishes and so many Sufis but I hardly get to meet them because I live in the U.K. I have also seen most people get turned away from me maybe because God is testing me or something but I see by judging people by appearance is not a good thing. Oh well people that live in Darkness usually always live in darkness and never notice what the other person can offer.

Take care

Bye

Hello,

I want to introduce myself my full name is Dervish Chirag Gohil. My Father’s name is Kishore Gohil and my mothers name is Nayna Gohil. I'm studying at Higher Education College at New Ham College which usually takes me nearly 45minutes to reach by Bus and I'm from a high religious family. I have studied myself the Bhagavat Gita, Qu'ran and also some parts

Of the Vedas and the Sermon on the Mount of Jesus Christ and Hazrat Prophet Mohammad and the Puranas but my favorites two are the Bhagavat Gita and the Upanishads and as for Sufism I have countless Poetry of Sufis Which I have collected for example Rumi, Hafiz, Attar etc.

I had phoned you on Thursday to give my regards to you and about your www.naqshmumbra.blogspot.com and It's very nice and Informative about the Naqshbandiya Mujaddadiaiaya Mazahariya Ramchandriya I like the design It suites the NaqshMuMRa. I wanted to see the Golden chain of the Sufi Order. Is it possible if you could list down for me the saints of the Shijra?

I like all the saints because they were true human beings.

It may also shock you that also my parents have never visited India because they come from Africa and since they came from Africa to England they have never traveled to any country. If I could come to India I would definitely come but as I have never been to India also I have financial problems and as I'm a college student aged 20 It can be very difficult just like my friends to even travel the whole of England as well as I'm the only child of the family. My father has just turned 58 and my mother will turn 49 very soon.

I wanted to ask as I know that Mahatma Raghubar Dayal Ji was the younger brother of Mahatma Ram Chandraji so was Mahatma Radha Mohan Lal Ji the son of Mahatma Raghubar Dayal Ji?

Bye.

Beyond the Grave Messages for SRCM succession-Lalaji-Babuji

This is taken from Elodie's blog "The Desperate Abhyasi" or in "Long Life Sahaj Marg" (in French)
http://pourquevivelesahajmarg.blogspot.com/

The comments are to article titled: "Une première circulaire de Tiruppur", by Elodie, dated Jan. 28, 2007.

This is the official version of the succession of Lalaji's succession into Babuji via dreams and a 14 year delay after the death of Lalaji. The researcher is Alexis from France: http://shriramchandramission.blogspot.com/

Christian, in connection with the inter-communications (beyond the grave) Lalaji-Babuji and the transmission of the (succession) torch, here is what I also found :

1 On the ISRC website

-On August 15, 1931 (the day after Lalaji’s death), “a great flow of power” that they claim as being the beginning of fusion (Lalaji-Babuji). Then on October 12, 1932, improvement of the process of fusion….

Then, in April 1944 when Babuji prays his Master during several days to show him the light (like Moses on Mount Sinai, it is them (SRCM) who make the comparison). On August 14, 44, he starts to pray to Lord Krishna…

2 From SRCMtm:

In an interview for a newspaper, Chari speaks about transmission about 1944-45, without specifying. In an old “Sing Voice”, magazine of the mission in Singapore: Babuji met Lalaji for the 1st time on June 3, 1922

Transmission: They say that this comes from the autobiography of Babuji (Volume 2, 1st English edition, p. 20), i.e. the version SRCMtm (the 20%). On August 6, 1944: Lalaji (allegedly in a dream) ordered. "There should be an announcement in the Bhandara that I (Lalaji) have appointed you, Ram Chandra of Shajahanpur, as my heir-apparent and representative (…) Those who oppose you shall not derive any benefit for me."

Without references, they add that Babuji would have also then taken instructions from Swami Vivekananda, Lord Krishna and Buddha, only that…

It is Vivekananda who would have given him instructions concerning the emblem of the mission. Then, on January 3, 1946, Babuji invents/bequeaths his method. On January 12, 46, Lalaji dictates the words of the prayer to him.

It is a circus atmosphere… and anything goes!

-He meets Lalaji on June 3, 1922 and does not see him again but 3 other times (approx).
-He dreamed much about Lalaji and Baqi Billah, but he was afraid of the reactions of his parents.
-The fusion starts the day after Lalaji’s death
-A great vacuum until 1944, but he apparently visited the successors of Lalaji.
-He hesitates nearly 14 years to begin his work.
-April, 44, he (Babuji) requests Lalaji to give him the light (hence he does not have it yet!).
-He obtains on May 22, but Lalaji confirms it only on August 6.
-During this period, he (Babuji) and Lalaji fear his competitors (to the succession)
-As of on August 14, 44, he prays also Vivekananda, Krishna and Bouddha
-Vivekananda gives him instructions for the emblem
-1945 the creation of the SRCM with Shajahanpur
-January 3, 46 The method of Babuji becomes public
-January 12 46, Lalaji dictates the prayer to him (Babuji)

In your dreams… as the young people say!!
