Sahaj Marg(tm), Meditation, Depression, Hallucination, Suicide,
Comments by 4d-Don:
If one reads Babuji's journals, one will see that Babuji, who studied mesmerism (hypnotism) went through a long period of depression and even contemplated suicide because of a workplace incident, according to an article on the Institute of Shri Ram Chandra Consciousness (ISRC) site. One of Babuji's sons also committed suicide.

Meditation, depression, hallucinations and suicide
Following the publication of Cricri's tribute to Eugenyi, an ex-abhyasi from Minsk who committed suicide, the reactions were quick.
The same day, an anonymous person left the following comment on the Cricri's blog ... Analyse de la SRCM
"Sir, It was not due to meditation the abyasi got into hallucination or so. It is the mental depression or dis-order can only lead to such horrible experiences. In SRCM the meditation is very simple and not complicated. So many people are getting Hallucination and committing suicides with out practicing meditation. Hallucination or insanity develops in a person due to his own psychological problems and not due to spirituality.”
Eugenyi is not the only abhyasi to have gone through a depression. Ajay Kumar Bhatter, the former heir apparent to Chari, himself admitted that there were a lot of preceptors who were depressive. Moreover, a preceptor psychiatrist deals with depression as an opportunity to go towards Sahaj Marg.
Eugenyi is not the only abhyasi to experience hallucinations. Remember the testimony of Sameer Sachdeva.
And unfortunately, Eugenyi is not the first abhyasi to have committed suicide.
Is there always a cause and effect? Obviously not, but is there ever a cause and effect? This seems hard to believe, although we may never have certainty. A suicide is always a multi-factorial act.
In any case, caution should be excercised and it is certainly worth questioning. Especially when the preceptors are actively searching for depressive people, to get them into Sahaj Marg.
The abandonment or blacklisting of an abhyasi by his peers can turn out to be dramatic and be seen to be non-assistance by a persons in danger. The duty of support should be the very minimum for the community members of SRCM and their preceptors.
Sahaj Marg meditation according to Chari does not bring only positive effects, one must know and be conscious of this. Often this causes, maintains or exacerbates depressive effects. Sometimes unfortunately it also brings much more serious problems like hallucinations or madness.

Don't follow amateur (part-time?) gurus who are really "materialist" businessmen!! Maybe Chari's successor (Kamlesh D. Patel) will have a "pill" to fix the depression, rather than suggesting that abhyasis get some oxygen!! It could wake them up!!
There was a recent report stating that depression was tied to a shortage of oxygen in the brain. Check out how many abhyasis are actually asleep during their meditation.
Then, Read Chari's statements in the article below and then see these sites (Also, Google: "Depression, lack of oxygen in brain")

Sahaj Marg(tm) and the Japanese Earthquake/tsunami !
Hello to everyone ...
There are two Sahaj Marg(tm) preceptors (Colleen Lecour, and A.J. Born) from the USA and Canada who have been sending this prayer to abhyasis via e-mail ... This prayer from a Shinto monk from the Shinto shrine at Ise, Japan, made it to me.
You will no doubt notice that, like Chari and some members of Sahaj Marg (tm), they believe that prayers will save them from disasters, even those which are most likely caused by their (or our human) ignorance and arrogance. One does not build nuclear reactors at sea level in an earthquake and tsunami zone!
Adherents to Sahaj Marg (tm), like the "religious", who claim to need only the MASTER, their Messiah, for their liberation and salvation, now apparently need us, the infidels, the heretics, and the atheists who are not their true "brothers and sisters" so as to convince nature and/or GOD ... hmmmm! There is something perverse, (corrupt?) here! ;-))
Why this disaster and not others? Did prayers stop the flood at Babuji's Memorial Ashram? Will prayers really stop Natural processes?
I wonder how many investors in this nuclear technology are religious? Sahaj Marg-ees? Are wealthy members of Sahaj Marg(tm) investing in nuclear technology? Genetic Engineering? No doubt! If there is money to be made, then they, the capitalists are there!
We know that some Indian GURUS have been trying to attract European investments for research on "cloning" or GE (genetic engineering), or Franken-foods to India.
So all you atheists, pray for the salvation of the RELIGIOUS materialists and the SPIRITUALISTS! ;-0
They seem to think that it is the Earth (nature) which needs healing, and not men (THEM)! Oooops! ; -0
This is the prayer which comes from the Shinto monastery at Ise, Japan, which is near the nuclear reactor in Fukushima (200 miles?): (I took the translation from the e-mails here:)

A Japanese Monk Sent this Prayer Request
The damage of earthquake in Japan is devastating.
Unable to cool down the reactor we are facing a possibility of nuclear
plant explosion.
Please join our prayer. Feel free to forward this prayer request to anyone.
It would be great if more people can pray.
Here Is A translation of a message / oracle From The Ise Shrine in Japan:
After the sunset we need strong power of prayer.
Please let me deliver the message to as many as possible.
We can stop this earthquake with our prayer but right now the nuclear
plant is in danger.
Please everyone heal the suffering, sadness, anger, worry about nuclear plants.
Please do not think that this accident will bring justice.
Please care for each other.
The energy toward conflict and fight is also fueling the things happening right now.
Please stop the conflict and stop the fight and change the worrying voice to the power of prayer.
Please pray that as many people as possible can be saved.
We will be O.K. if our hearts start connecting with each other, the earth will be healed.
There are the sound/vibration that can release the karma of earth.
Anyone who can make prayer sound, anyone who can do reiki,
anyone who can do long distance healing
please direct your energy to the center of Japan .
The exact location is above the Hachiro gata, Akita Prefecture .
If you can sing, please sing.
Humming is fine too.
Let the earth listen to the sound.
Please send gratitude to the earth.
If the mother earth wakes up then everything will stop.
The word Song/Sing writes in Japanese Kanji that small possibilities
support a big lack.
Please send your prayer to the earth to wake up the spirit.
I will be in meditation after the sunset.
I will pray for the light shining the sky even in the darkness.
Please everyone be safe.
Thank you for supporting my heart at this very difficult time.
Gratitude for the life.

Sahaj Marg(tm) and Shintoism ... religions?
If anyone REALLY wants to help the Japanese citizens, they can send money, material and/or manpower!
What about the other "nuclear reactors" in Japan? What about the many reactors around the world? Those also in earthquake and tsunami zones.
Chari, the President of SRCM (California-1997) and the Master of Sahaj Marg(tm), sneered at the Pope because he offered prayers for AIDS sufferers; and he sneered at Bill Gates who donates some of his money to help AIDS sufferers, calling them "morally degraded" (hear the speech with sneers, on their Web site)!! And here that same group (SRCM California-1997) offers prayers to magically attempt to repair a "nuclear reactor" whose core could be in "meltdown" mode?
And of course, they also prayed for PEACE after attacking their own "brothers and sisters" and took over the ashrams of old preceptors loyal to Babuji and his family. (see article on this blog, and Exposing Sahaj Marg by Babuji's family on Youtube).
Ah! Ah! Ah! What a mess! What a religious mess!
Don
.
.
P.S. - To the Leadership of SRCM(California-1997) and their Followers...
Here is a disaster of your own making ... You can do something about this one without praying for intercession from Sahaj Marg's (male) God! You can stop this impending disaster for one homosexual person created by your leader and your group, with just your word!! Speak it! ... or get the MASTER of your group, Chari, to Recall his HOMOPHOBIC speeches. If you can't convince the leadership of SRCM(California-1997) to stop discriminating against homosexuals and trans-genders, then you can make a moral statement and leave this racist, sexist and hompphobic "clan"!! .
Mr Chari of Sahaj Marg(tm). Recall your HOMOPHOBIC SPEECH!.
Earthquakes are NATURAL ... HOMOSEXUALITY is NATURAL ... One can't pray them away with religious rituals !!

Thanks for another valuable post Frank.

Brain shuts off in response to healer's prayer
New Scientist 27 April 2010 by Andy Coghlan
WHEN we fall under the spell of a charismatic figure, areas of the brain responsible for scepticism and vigilance become less active. That's the finding of a study which looked at people's response to prayers spoken by someone purportedly possessing divine healing powers.
To identify the brain processes underlying the influence of charismatic individuals, Uffe Schjødt of Aarhus University in Denmark and colleagues turned to Pentecostal Christians, who believe that some people have divinely inspired powers of healing, wisdom and prophecy.
Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), Schjødt and his colleagues scanned the brains of 20 Pentecostal-ists and 20 non-believers while playing them recorded prayers. The volunteers were told that six of the prayers were read by a non-Christian, six by an ordinary Christian and six by a healer. In fact, all were read by ordinary Christians.
Only in the devout volunteers did the brain activity monitored by the researchers change in response to the prayers. Parts of the prefrontal and anterior cingulate cortices, which play key roles in vigilance and scepticism when judging the truth and importance of what people say, were deactivated when the subjects listened to a supposed healer. Activity diminished to a lesser extent when the speaker was supposedly a normal Christian (Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, DOI: 10.1093/scan/nsq023).
Schjødt says that this explains why certain individuals can gain influence over others, and concludes that their ability to do so depends heavily on preconceived notions of their authority and trustworthiness.
It's not clear whether the results extend beyond religious leaders, but Schjødt speculates that brain regions may be deactivated in a similar way in response to doctors, parents and politicians.
