News From SRCM(California-1997) - Sahaj Marg(tm)
Kamlesh Patel, at this very moment, is celebrating the anniversary of Babuji at Vrads Sande in Denmark in the company of European, Russian and American abhyasis, encouraged to go by Chari.
After the SMSF Foundation , in Dubai, a new Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation officially came to light on March 5, 2012, in Singapore.
SRCM UK has offered itself a property in Greater London, in the new neighborhoods developed for the Olympics. This is the future site of London's ashram.
In Sahaj Marg(tm), they all claim, it's not about "MONEY" or the Material!! But like all religions, the "dealers" (the businessmen who are the owners of the obedient slaves) can't wait to pass the collection plate and milk their obedient "cash cows", who long for THEIR fantasy version of "salvation" or "LIBERATION" from the material (their money) ... Lol lol
Another group of pseudo-spiritual addicts to the spiritualist "Opiates of the masses" (religion), buying (paying for) their "fix" of narcissistic BLISS !! If they don't obey (and pay), they will feel "guilty" or "left behind" !!
Kamlesh encourages Canadians to raise funds to acquire an ashram: "if 1,000 abhyasis each contributed $20 per month, that would be $ 20,000 per month and in a year we would have $ 240,000 - Had we started five years ago, we would be in a position now to acquire property! "
(As far as we know, five years ago, the number of Sahaj Marg disciples (abhyasis) in Canada was approximately 500 strong. Then, two boatloads of Tamil illegal migrants arrived on our western shores. (Chari is a Tamil, and Chennai, the headquarters for his SRCM(California-1997), is in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu).
Now Kamlesh Patel (Chari's successor-in-waiting, a pharmacist from Staten Island, New York, USA), alludes to 1,000 Sahaj Marg abhyasis in Canada?? ... First comes the tax-exempt religion registered as a "charity", and then the people smugglers? Is this also part of their "diaspora"? Will we also be a conduit for the "quick and easy fix" of Indian "pharmaceuticals", thanks to Sahaj Marg(tm) which is translated as "the easy path) ?? Maybe they will claim their "drugs" are really very "spiritual" ... lol lol And their corporate "pharmaceutical consortiums" members are really "Saints"... ;-))
Sahaj Marg(tm) is just one more builder of religious material "temples", being built (tax-free) by the nationalist, spiritualist, and very materialist wealthy businessmen, claiming to be "spiritual" and using the lost pseudo-environmentalists, and the pseudo-spiritual "do-gooders", to promote their "trade-marked" commercial empires, as the poor everywhere are marginalized and ignored !!
Take one of their holy Pills, kneel and bow to the businessmen invaders, and Obey!! Don't forget to bring your children for indoctrination, and lure your friends and family!!)
What is your "carbon footprint"? You hypocrites who rant about the terrible "materiality" of our modern world??
The works undertaken at the ashram of Cranbury, (NJ, USA) are entering their final phase.
A disciple of Babuji and Kasturi, is sending their messages since April 20, on two mirror blogs: http://lalajibabujikasturiji.blogspot.fr/ or http://lalajibabujikasturiji.wordpress.com/
This "anonymous" who calls himself/herself "Ek abhyasi" claims he met Babuji in 1962 at the age of 22 and followed his teaching, as that of Sister St Kasturiji ever since. He/she would therefore be 72 years old ?!

Hello 4d-Don,
I just saw your entry here and was amused after reading your comments. It is indeed unfortunate to see Sahaj Marg (Simple/Easy Way) to God Realization given by Pujya Babuji Maharaj now being converted into a tag/trademark which only talks about money more than the Almighty or as you say "The One".
At the same time, i would like to thank you for taking note of a blog which was started very recently and captured in the last paragraph of yours. However the context in which is it is mentioned is totally out of context.
You are right about the age. The abhyasi here is indeed a man of 72 years and has spent a good amount of time with both Pujya Babuji and St Sister Kasturi.
Hi 4D-Don,
Here i am again. This obviously is not a comment but a way to communicate with you and therefore doesn't need to to be published.
I was going through some of your other blogs on the related topic "Sahaj Marg" and was actually surprised to see people getting so rude in their replies and ready to fight as if they are at war or something. Were they trying to prove something to you or to themselves, i still haven't been able to decide.
I have grown up in an environment which only spoke about the teaching of Pujya Babuji and how our goal of life should only be try and understand God Realization i.e. try and move towards the Almighty while discharging our worldly duties. The one thing that I have learnt is to respect the fellow being no matter what he/she expresses about certain issues.
All i can say if they(people with rude replies) had actually seen Babuji Saheb or had received even an iota of what Babuji taught everyone, they would have been more humble. As per my understanding, arrogance and spirituality never mix together but then thats what i believe in and i am no authority on the subject.
It was just my desire to reach out to you seeing the amount of time you have spent putting all this together. Though i must admit that i feel sad when people put in unpleasant comments for Pujya Babuji Maharaj and his Sahaj Marg, however i do not carry any ill feelings towards the posting or the author because the author is merely expressing his feelings either knowingly or in ignorance and in either case he is entitled to do so.
Thank you so much for being a patient reader and allowed me to reach out to you.
Kind Regards,
Anjaana Rahi.
Hi Anjaana Rahi...
Thanks for the comments...
Unfortunately, we are all somewhat bound by our own view of the truth, knowing very well that to get a true and complete picture of any event or any phenomenon, one has to get a broader perspective than only one's own.
That also means that the leadership of a "new religion" or "spiritual movement", who wants to point their truth at the flaws in other religions, or individuals, calling them corrupt, and/or materialist, un-natural, etc... has to "walk the walk" and not only "talk the talk".
To preach love for all, and then to bad-mouth homosexuals, calling them "un-natural" as Chari does, is not "walking the walk". It is not only "de-humanizing" our fellow man, but also "de-naturalizing" a part of life, all of which should be sacred in TRUE Spirituality ... If homosexuals are not "natural", then what are they? And what about the numerous species of animals who also practice homosexuality for various reasons. Are they "un-natural" also? And Sahaj Marg wants to be called the "natural path"?? lol lol
Also to condemn racism for the rest of the world, including the disciples, is to be commended. But to chose a wife for one's son, as Babuji and Chari did for Umesh, on the basis of: "skin complexion, height and cut", is also not "walking the walk" ... That is the truth, as brought to us thanks to Frank Waaldijk, ex Zonal-in-Charge of SRCM (California-1997), for the Netherlands. That is Chari's Clan ...
(See Frank's blog: Pitfalls of Spirituality)
http://pitfallsofspirituality.blogspot.ca/
... and as published by SRCM (Shahjahanpur-1945) and compiled as the "Letters of Babuji", See also another of my blogs called: the Autobiography of Ram Chandra, by Dr. S.P. Srivastava, ex-president of Sahaj Marg, after Babuji's death in 1983.
We don't live in a 1-d world which, if it existed, could be called: LINELAND. We also don't live in a 2-d world, which could be called "FLATLAND" or "PLANELAND". But, in a world of at least the 4 dimensions, of which we are now conscious at this time in our evolution, namely: 3-d of SPACE (length, width, height), and at least 1-d of MOTION, (measured as time), before believing a "faith based" claim, one needs get at least enough evidence and/or perspectives to cover most of our "3-d volume", which continues or extends through MOTION, into TIME, aka: the FUTURE ...
Our (the bloggers) perspective is now part of the multi-dimensional picture (the story ... the history) of Sahaj Marg (tm) ... and it will be there for a long, long time, flawed logic and all. That includes the Spiritualism (mediums, egregores, whispers), the untruths, the questionable ethics, the divisiveness, and all...
The un-truths and flaws propagated in the past without any supporting evidence or logic, by many (if not most...) religions and faith-based groups, and now including Sahaj Marg, which once survived dogmatically for centuries and even millenia as fact or as "the truth", to be believed, obeyed, and never questionned, will not survive and will not be believed into the future from here on end. This is thanks to the advent of the technology of the Age of Information, now being used by "WE THE PEOPLE" of the "5th estate", the bloggers ...
We are grateful to James Clerk Maxwell for his invention: The Theory of Electromagnetism, the second great UNIFIER of Physics. (Isaac Newton being the first)

Hi Anjaana Rahi...
You're welcome (about mentionning the two blogs) ...
This article is just a short series of "NEWS" items ... An Update!!
Sorry to include these two new blogs and Sister Kasturi's group in this context...
I would also not want to be "lumped in" with that group of businessmen who re-registered and trade-marked Babuji's original society in California in 1997, as SRCM (California-1997), headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu ...
Baubji's society is called: Shri Ram Chandra Mission, (Shahjahanpur-1945), presided by Navnett, Babuji's grandson.

Hi there Don
I am a 42 year old male caucasian abhysai from america who as been an abhyasi for 4 months and I have just come to London after attending babujis birthday celebrations in vrads sande.
After taking my initial sittings I discovered your blog and after reading it I was very concerned and I was quite put off the system but as a psychologist I am quite aware that we should not dismiss anything unless we have experienced it ourselves so I decided to take on board what people had written on your blog and try out the practice with it all in mind.
One aspect that concerned me most was the monetary aspect but since joining I have never paid one cent to the system in order to practice it. Infact the only payment I have made upto now is the registration fee for the seminar which covered all food, drink and accomadation and it was very reasonable at only 150 euro for 4 days. If abhyasis could not afford this then they were able to just donate whatever they could afford.
The other aspect that concerned me was the "brainwashing" aspect of it-the stories of people's lives being ruined because Master ordered them to do something. After careful research and talking to a lot of abhyasis in vrads (over 1000 people attended) I can safely say that yes Master advises people in how to conduct themselves from a spiritual point of view in what he believes is the best way however the choice of following the advice or not is 100% upto the individual concerned. You will not be excluded from Sahaj Marg if you choose not to follow Masters advice.
This was my first seminar and I conclude that this system is quite special. Obviously some people such as yourselves on the blog will have bad experiences which is a shame and will want to vent but the majority myself included find it to be a wonderful experience.
Maybe you should consider therapy for your obsession with hatred towards Master? I'm back in the US in 2 weeks and offer my services if you require?
Thanks
The aspirants seem so blinded by the forest through the trees. They call their path the "easy way", the "natural path".
They believe that their entanglements with this Universe keeps them separate from God. They deny any pre-existing ONE-ness in lieu of a path to an elusive AND illusive goal.
They adopt spiritual entanglements to create a dream reality - A reality where a dreamer dreams of being the Master of the Universe and presides over a brighter world dream reality.
These aspirants immerse themselves in the desperation of achieving a goal which exists only on faith - not such an "easy" path as they must cling to channeled messages from beyond the grave and invent myths about their dead Masters - all to maintain faith and contentment in their spirit-entangled, easy path.
I prefer the path of the birds and monkeys in the forest. They joyfully sing and play and embrace Gods Creation. Its mystery unfolds for them in all its glory with every breathing moment. They live in harmony with the Path as it unfolds before them. This is the true "easy way". No donations or ashrams are required!
In Loyal Service To Spiritual Truth,
Monkey Man
Hi Monkey Man ...
Good Comment.... I agree with you...
Their professed seperation from ONE or ONE-ness (what they call their male "God"), is to be questionned!!
It seems that Kasturi and Lalaji were also not "obsessed" by the material or by numbers ...
Although the statement from Kasturi's last BOOKLET: "Master of the Universe for all times" is a little much from a Spiritual point of view ...
We will see how Kasturi's disciples act in her absence.
Don
Hi anonymous...
Hi "anonymous"...
lol lol ... You should at least say: "hatred" for the 'SELF TITLED' Master, who stole the original society from the family of Babuji ... He was not appointed by anyone ... But I don't hate Lalaji, the Sufi and apparently a TRUER Master, not obsessed by the material or by the number of his disciples (he had 212 disciples) or on building Ashrams (real estate scam??)...
And if you want to follow "the spirits" channeled by an anonymous French Lady Medium, that is your "jeopardy" ... If you must pray "for a favourable egregore", (according to Chari), then you should read the experience of other religious groups throughout history, many of which have given up this spiriutalist practice willingly after the disciples continued to "make war" ... and fight among themselves. Just like Sahaj Marg and the MISSION...
The journalist who reports on crime does not have to "hate" the criminal... just the "CRIME"...
Maybe you should offer your services to the megalomaniacs who thinks that they are the "Masters of the Universe"... or to those who serve this self-titled group of businessmen who are obsessed with the material, spritualism, and nationalism (diaspora) and "conquering the world" for their religion (or their commercial empire)... those who practice racism and homophobia, even though they preach against such "hatred" ...
I doubt you are what you claim to be ...
You may need your own "counselling"!!
First (approximately seven years ago) we got the "death threats" from some who claimed to be "disciples" of Chari, then we got the threats of "legal action" and then we got the "psychiatric threats" (the name calling) by those who claim to be "psy's" ...
You are like an "old hat" ...
This is still a "free world" (in the west at least), no thanks to RELIGION ...
If you don't like reading this blog, read something else ...
A fool and his money are soon parted... and if TIME is MONEY, then your time is what you will part with to proselytize or defend this "SPIRITUALIST" group of nationalist businessmen ...
Tell your future fictitious patients that you get your "messages" from an anonymous MEDIUM!! lol lol
Or better still, that your self-appointed Master is the MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE!!
OH! MY GOD!! lol lol
Don ...
Hi Don,
A minor addition/change to your following response -
"It seems that Kasturi and Lalaji were also not "obsessed" by the material or by numbers ..."
You missed out mentioning Babuji who always believed in quality than quantity and would tell the abhyasi that if he is not satisfied, he is more than welcome to find a person who can fulfill his aspirations.
"We will see how Kasturi's disciples act in her absence."
There are no disciples of Kasturi ji. We are all disciples of Babuji and would always remain so and follow what Babuji taught us. We will always remain thankful to St Sister Kasturi that she explained clearly what Babuji is otherwise the simplicity of Pujya Babuji Maharaj would not have revealed that much. We all are simple abhyasis who are trying to move towards our goal of getting closer to the Almighty.
Regards,
Anjaana Rahi
Many who proclaim to be on a spiritual path have in fact embarked on a self imposed exile from One-Ness!
They are like like the man who steps away from the bountiful dinner table to beg for a food.
Monkey Man
Hi Anjaana Rahi
I agree that Babuji always said that he wanted quality rather than quantity. But as a very old and long-time French ex-abhyasis of Babuji stated it:
The Great philosopher (Babuji) was supposed to change the great Laskar (meaning a con-man ... Chari?) but the great Laskar won out ...
And Babuji started looking for disciples and building "material structures".... not the "spirituality" he wanted, but the gathering of the material and the management of such material structures. That also meant getting money, which means more disciples with "money". (numbers, not quality) ... Babuji even asked Chari to stop searching out so many psy's and alternate therapies (astrology?, etc...), who also brought their patients. And then began the rise of Chari's influence, and the alleged titles for donations ... Dr. (Prof of Philosophy) Varadachari warned Babuji about the "commercialations of the Mission and the path, the Marga"....
Babuji's fix came a little late ... Babuji died pre-maturely. (poison his family allege) ...His son, Umesh died also and the family allege "poison" again .... There is also a letter allegedly signed by Babuji (before his death) which points the finger ...
Good intentions ... but in the "walk the walk" realm, we are reminded that the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions.
You could get another perspective from Michael's story, on his blog: Inner Circle of SRCM.
Then Babuji allegedly tried to undo his choice of Chari as his successor, and named his son, Umesh, to lead his mission. Hence came the schism of the groups. Chari re-registered the name of the Mission in San Luis Obispo, California, in 1997, then came the divisions: Narayana (Dr. Varadachari's son), Kasturi (the only saint of Sahaj Marg, according to Babuji), Babuji's family, (led by his son, Umesh and then his son, Navneet), and many other old preceptors appointed by Babuji lost their ashrams to Chari's group).
The violent (by a mob of Chari's clan) take-over of some ashrams was covered by the local news media, and there is some news coverage on-line. (Some on this blog ... And Some on the Sufi Brotherhood's Naqshbandiyya Nexus site (Lalaji's Family's site) ...
Chari and many disciples of Babuji, claim Lalaji, a Master of the Sufi Naqshbandiyya Stream, as their own Master even though they do not practice Lalaji's method or promote Lalaji's teachings or send any money to Lalaji's nephew, the current Dean.
The Naqshbandiyya Sufi Brotherhood is alive and well, even though Babuji claimed in a letter in Feb, 1963 that it had: "breathe their last"...
There is no "good intention" or truth visible there.
And thanks for the clarification about disciples of Babuji who meditated with Kasturi.
Don...

Correction:
The sentence in my above reply:
Dr. (Prof of Philosophy) Varadachari warned Babuji about the "commercialations of the Mission and the path, the Marga"....
should read:

Dear brothers and sisters,
Because of the controversy only we are drifting away from our home land.Babuji has said 'one can't reach the goal of human life through discussion and argument. It is only possible by drowning in Him'.Let us make use of this golden period to attain our well cherished goal of human life by drowning in Him.

Don would say:
Let us immerse ourselves in ONE or ITS universal "ONE-ness". No more corrupt-able proxies for "DIVINITY" ...
How difficult is it to proclaim oneself a Saint? It is like being an ambassador for a non-existent fruit from an imaginary land - creating myths and stories that inspire and entertain. Such Saint-Ambassadors would receive many adoring admirers seeking knowledge of this mythical fruit. Fruit worshipers would come from near and far to hear fruit stories told again and again. They prefer to hear these stories over experiencing the fruit that grows in the trees above their heads.
Being a saint seems an easy job. Maybe even Money Man could be a saint?! Ahhh, but alas, Monkey Man has no faithful admirers. Likely because he does not spin myths of non-existent fruit. Instead he merely sees wonder and mystery in fruit that can be eaten and experienced by all - and the only unseen land he can think of is the forest through the trees. Maybe Monkey Man would not make such a good saint after all...

Hi Don,
I have seen this and couple of your other posts/websites and pray that the predicament we are all in gets resolved soon. May the Sahaj Marg of the yester-years return back (to the spirituality). Till then we can pray Babuji for that day to come soon and benefit from his remembrance. People who want real spirituality (?always) tend to understand the difference between spirituality and materialism, though it is very difficult for all of us, in the current times, to live life the ideal spiritual way (given the credit driven material world around us). Nice to hear your views and hope we get deliverance on some of the concerns raised by you.
Best Regards,
Kishore

Hi Kishore...
Thanks for the comments and your kind words...
It is nice to hear that some who followed Babuji, are still able to express some "inkling" of humanity, let alone the universal-ness of Spirituality...
You are a nice counter-balance to the "death threats", the threats of "legal action" and the "name calling" coming from what I presume is "Chari's Clan", the SRCM (California-1997), and his Sahaj Marg (tm), (trade marked spiritulality for "trade and commerce"??) ... ;-))
Bless you and yours...

Comme le fait remarquer Don, la SRCM au Canada c'est 4 à 500 abhyasis. K Patel n'y a rien changé !
Donc, 1 ashram pour le Canada à 20$ par mois par abhyasi, c'est pas en 5 ans, mais plutôt dans 12 ou 13 ans...

Translation:
As Don mentionned, SRCM in Canada is at 4 to 500 abhyasis. K. Patel has changed nothing!
Hence, for 1 Ashram for Canada, at $20.00 per month per abhyasi, it is not in 5 yearts, but rather, in 12 or 13 years.
Hi Don,
The people who believe in replying with "death threats" and legal action or any harm to you or anybody cannot be a follower of Babuji. The discussion happening here is between brothers. This is what Babuji too addressed everyone "Brother".
What we individually believe in completely revolves around one word..."Faith". However it is our utmost duty to respect everyone's faith because it is only Almighty who has the power to question it.
On a side note, the 72 year old man mentioned in my first comment is my father. He was telling me that there used to a person visiting Babuji's house at Shahjahanpur by the name of Don. Do you happen to be the same person or related to him in any way?
Regards,
Anjaana Rahi.
Hi Anjaana Rahi
You may be right that those who use "threats" and name calling, are not what you consider Babuji's followers. They sure claim to be a part of Sahaj Marg and of seem to be part of "Chari's clan", I believe ... They at least all speak with the same "zombied" phrases as the followers of Chari ...
The Don who used to go to Babuji's place was Don S. After being a psychiatric nurse (him and his wife), Don S. went back to school and became a Homeopathic doctor. When Babuji got ill, Don S. became his physician.
Don S. passed away from a blood (or stress) related illness (heart attack or stroke) approximately 7 years ago. And his wife moved back to the west coast of Canada.
Don S. was the one who introduced me to Babuji and his Sahaj Marg and was my preceptor for a few years (before he moved away) ... I left that group after meeting Chari (when Chari took over). I had been around such people before and I was not about to trust my "spiritual path" in the hands of such a "materialist" and/or power-hungry individual.
I am not the same Don as Don S.
Thank you for your comment and kind words of re-assurance. I am glad that some disciples of Babuji have and continue to walk on the "good path", and are detached from such games of the material... I will take your word for it ... unless I see differently.
Don
Hi Don,
Thank you for the clarification. My father sends his condolences for late Don S's family. Please pass it on if you ever get in touch with them.
I must say it was a pleasure to know that you are one of those people who have spent their time with Babuji and can definitely point out what it was and what it is and then weigh it against the balance of right and wrong.
Along with your blog, i have read couple of blogs by Michael. I would say i liked the way the things were presented even though the facts were unpleasant.
There is however one request i thought of making to you. It is absolutely fine if people don't want to believe that Babuji was a Special Personality and wish to treat him like an ordinary man, however isn't it against the basic etiquette to use foul language while referring to a man(Babuji) who is obviously elder to most of us? If you agree to this, shouldn't those post be moderated or at least the author is asked to use the right language to express themselves. This request is considering the fact that you have been in touch Babuji and known him better than people who have only heard about him.
Just my thoughts.
Regards,
Anjaana Rahi
Hi Anjaana Rahi...
I never see Don S's wife or her new "friends"... I live in a different town, and am not involve in Sahaj Marg ...
I also can't decide for people what is the "right language" for them to use ... All must be left free to express themselves as they feel. The anonymous "venting" on "blogs" is also a cure for the emontionally pent-up emotions many have. And they have no other place to "emote" ... When one leave a "religion", the group does not want to hear the "accusations" of the one they now "SHUN" ... I will, on this blog, leave them a place to have "Freedom of Expression".
This is an Age of Information and all information (even the opinions of the as yet "un-enlightened") will have a place to find flight and come to light.
The "HEALING" light!
Don ...
Hi...
I have been in this Mission for more than 20 years ands was closely associated with Chariji. I think the system had started off verywell but midway it lost its direction under Chariji's direction. More and more emphasis is being given to money. The root cause seems to be Chariji's blind trust in those so called Whispers from Brighter World. It is a very sorry state. I remember Chariji saying in 1995 that it was more tham 12 years since Babuji passed away yet there has been no communication from Him. He was desperate to have such Intercommunication from his Master. He was sincere to the core in his love for his Master. I could see that. In his desperation to have such communication, he believed in the so called whispers. Thereafter the Mission began to lose its spirituality and direction rapidly.
Now the present state of affairs in the Mission is very sad. There is no spirituality in the Mission. All of us who have seen wonderful spiritual atmosphere and special Grace that used to descend during Bhandaras conducted in pre 1995 observed the same disappear slowly. Still Chariji is not realising his mistakes. Now all those who want God may have to pray to the Ultimate directly for Guidance and Help.
