Sahaj Marg: Patel vs Chari

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Sahaj Marg: Patel vs Chari", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

February 19, 2016

Sahaj Marg: Patel vs Chari

Exerpt of Sahaj Sandesh No. 2006-68 of 20/09/2006  "On the advice of the Master, the Mission has adopted a policy of discouraging the use of online groups, chat rooms, blogs, email lists or private unauthorized third party use of mailing lists to disseminate information about the mission."

2015/16: 180-degree turn: Patel takes the counterpoint to Chari. Sahaj Marg is installed on all social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.

Blogs appear and multiply with the blessing of Patel. He encourages them, in fact advertising them and states:

How can two incarnations of the "cartel of Sahaj Marg Masters" have such opposite strategies in so little distance? How is it that the philosophy of Sahaj Marg takes on the character of the one who runs it? How is it possible to be so contradictory?

The question is not to find out who of the two, Chari or Patel, is right. The question is rather: Is there a pilot, a driver and what is the direction?

Is there no long-term vision?

Yet the Babuji as allegedly channeled by Peyret, the French mediumkeeps repeating that everything is planned.

We doubt it.

Compulsive Seduction at Sahaj Marg

Translation of an article by Alexis: "Seduction Compulsive au Sahaj Marg",  on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

April 29, 2015

Compulsive Seduction at  Sahaj Marg

After the Natural Path Meditation on MeetUp.com after the makeover of the home page of Sahajmarg.org, here Heartfulness.org is a step closer to a sanitized presentation of Sahaj Marg and the Shri Ram Chandra Mssion (SRCM) .

As Michael (ex-preceptor - See: Inner Circle of SRCM) said about the Natural Path Meditation, the SRCM understands that people are attracted to spirituality, but that they find gurus scary.

Here, one finds no mention of a Master or a Guru, no mention of Sahaj Marg or of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission  (SRCM) (except in the trailer, where we find that: Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation Inc. is at the origin of this new website).

Here is a Small Exerpt:

Heartfulness, a spiritual adventure
Learn to Meditate with the help of yogic transmission
Experience the beauty of the heart
 Experience Heartfulness
The Way of Experience

Here, everything is based on aesthetics: beautiful pictures and some good evocative words with neat calligraphy. Sleek site for the pleasure of the eye and/or the senses! Everything must attract, nothing should "put one off" ...

There are links to all the social networks! And of course, a whole stack of appointments (rendez-vous?)  whereby one can discover this "new" (and "unique"??) spiritual adventure.

Kamlesh Patel has enhanced the preceptors' field of expertise, in order for them to be able to welcome all newcomers. SRCM has spread its nets and dropped its hooks in the hope that the fishing will be good ...

The 4th Master of Sahaj Marg?

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Le 4è Maitre du Sahaj Marg", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

4d-Don says:

It appears that the Sahaj Marg "Businessmen Establishment", still count Lalaji as their first Master.   Babuji, (the real founder of Sahaj Marg and the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (Shahjahanpur-1945)), they count as the second Master of Sahaj Marg.   And Chari, who was not accepted by the Board of Directors of SRCM (Shahjahanpur-1945) as Babuji's successor (and who later (1997) registered his own self-invented version of SRCM in San Luis Obispo, California, USA, in 1997, they count as the third Master of Sahaj Marg.

Now anyone who can count to four (4), knows that the truth does not lie in their fallacious claims.  Lalji has his own following with their many legal entities.  Beside, the teachings of  Lalaji, the first Hindu Master of the Naqshbandiya Sufi Brotherhood lineage, does not resemble the teachings of the Sahaj Marg of Babuji nor Chari.    And Babuji's family still do not accept Chari as their grandfather's successor;  much less Kanlesh D. Patel who the Medium recently called the "4th and Last Master of Sahaj Marg".

Judging by the many speeches of Chari (and of Kamless D. Patel (see exerpts below)) warning about the many internal discords,  I would say that the ancient Chinese curse: "My you live in interesting times", applies to Sahaj Marg and the Shri Ram Chandra Mission in spades.

Hmmmm!  Very Interesting ...

Dec. 24, 2014

The 4th Master of Sahaj Marg?

Kamlesh D. Patel has been confirmed as the new president of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission and the fourth spiritual Master of Sahaj Marg, in Sahaj Sandesh dated Tuesday December 23rd and by the Mission Working Committee took note of this statement of fact.

He spoke the same day: first speech of the new master, at the request of the Secretary General, U.S. Bajpai. Excerpts:

"(... ) Harmony. Harmony is sadly lacking in our Mission. We must promise to him now at least, let’s not have any more differences. Differences are good, they are great, but they should not be escalated to the level of dislikes and hatred towards each other. We are brothers and sisters.

(...) There’s a greater unity among thieves, but it is unfortunate that spiritual beings who are in search of God don’t remain united. It is unfortunate that they still hanker after name and fame; they want to portray every little credit.

(...) He used to say, “I need no money from anyone,” although all his life he was misunderstood that he invited only the rich people. It is a shameful thing to speak about your Master like that. How many rich people were there, or are here today who spent time with Master in his last days, in the last few years?

(...) I gave these examples only to show you that if you at all had these ideas about Master, please remove them. It is a sin even to think like that, but sometimes we think like that because we don’t get to enter the gate. Out of anger we may think like that, and if we as abhyasis continue to have that anger, what sort of abhyasis are we?

(...)"

Despite this, we still know too little about Chari's successor. Until his biography appears, one can read: Le portrait de Kamlesh Patel se précise. (in French)...  or in English: At Sahaj Marg, the Portrait of Kamlesh D. Patel, comes into focus.

Chari's Children - Searching for the Re-Assuring Image of the Father!

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Les Enfants de Chari - À la Recherche de l'Image Rassurante du Père", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Dec. 15, 2014

Chari's Children - Searching For the Reassuring Image of the Father

August 15, 2012, an aged Chari, sick and tired appears to abhyasis worldwide via a video-conference on the Internet to announce his resignation live in a gigantic bhandara (party) organized especially for this occasion. His departure is organized, his successor is now ready to take over.

The immediate amazement gave way to bewilderment and then despondency. Almost immediately, the response of Abhyasis fuse in the room: they refuse his resignation. The consequence of this refusal: the abhyasis condemn Chari to die at work.

Just over two years later, Chari is always in control. In the shadows, his successor waits for his hour. Yet the abhyasis have never been as worried about the future of the Mission. In their imagination, Chari is irreplaceable.

But, let us sweep outside our own door. Myself, in 2005, I criticized the Mission but defended "tooth and nail" the figure of the master, hence the original title of this blog.  I attributed the excesses of Sahaj Marg to internal problems in the organization and to "the Men", I was still unable to accept the idea that Chari bears a share of the responsibility for this failure. And even after having left it all, it took me a while to admit it; at least two years were needed before I began to rebuke him.

What is the dream of all abhyasis?  To approach, meet, touch Chari. We are far from the so-called spiritual quest which theoretically leads all abhyasis to Sahaj Marg.

The charisma of Chari can explain as expected, his ascension in the seventies, the eighties or the nineties, but certainly more his undeniable current success. But the (real?) reasons are neither charismatic nor spiritual; they are psychological.

There are not 36 possible explanations. The abhyasis need this living master which is Chari. They need a leader, the figure of the leader, the reassuring image of an authoritarian father.

Men killed religions (God is symbolically dead). Orphaned, Men (abhyasis?)  are searching for another master to replace him. Spiritual seekers are obsessed with the need for a teacher, a supreme and indisputable leader. They need the power of the infallible leader, the one who knows better than any others and who is guiding them. The abhyasis have found him, it is Chari, the most gifted imposter to pose as God.

Adherence to SRCM and Sahaj Marg is based on a misunderstanding, a mistake, a misdirection, a sham: the abhyasis are not really looking for the divine light that is inside of themselves, unconsciously they are like children looking for a paternal protection.

And as the child endangers his family if he does not submit to parental authority, the abhyasi who doubts endangers the Mission because he/she no longer blindly obeys Chari.

The Mission is not a spiritual movement, it is Chari's family, the reassuring figure which is both authoritative and paternal. Tomorrow, when the children of Chari are grieving again, orphans of their Father, what reception  will they reserve for Kamlesh Patel?

Sahaj Marg: Denial of Self and Surrender to the Master

Translation of an article by Elodie: "Négation de L'Individu et Abandon au Maître", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Nov. 29, 2014

Denial of the Self and Surrender to the Master

You are an abhyasi of Sahaj Marg and you wonder about your practice? Do not tell anyone, especially do not share your doubts.

I have experienced that; it was in 2005, with the release of the first "Whispers".  In no time, I found myself on the witness stand.  Bad abhyasi with an oversized ego, I did not love Chari enough, I was causing him pain and I was doing harm to the Mission. In a word, I was accused of all the evils.

Do you have a question, a doubt?  Blame your ego. The answer does not change, it's always the same. The Whispers of Babuji, dead and buried for more than 30 years, says the same thing: "The resistance in some abhyasis sadly denotes an ego, let us hope that years of spiritual practice will bring a state of surrender to the mind."

A question, a doubt? Your ego is oversized, you must adopt a mindset of surrender, (you must) become a living-dead, as one with a dead body.

"What should be the ideal attitude of the abhyasi? According to the Master's own words: "he must be like a dead man in the hands of a funeral director." That is to say, the abhyasi should be like a dead body, free of personal desire, personal opinions and completely devoid of any resistance. Such an abhyasi is the ideal material because he offers no resistance of any kind, no more physical than mental, to the spiritual powers of the Master."

(Chari in: "My Master")

"The easiest and surest way to achieve the goal is to surrender to the Great Master and become oneself a living-dead.  (...)  The abandonment of self is nothing but a complete state of surrender to the will of the Master, with a complete lack of interest in oneself. Remaining permanently in this condition leads to the beginning of the denial of the self.  (...) In this state a man thinks and does what the will of his master orders him.  (...) He will be completely subordinated to the will of the Master.

(Babuji in: "The Role of the Abhyasi in Sahaj Marg")

Your ego is oversized, you have to surrender yourself in the hands of the Master, becoming a "living-dead". For that you need to perform a lot of work on your character and really surrender yourself  to the will of the Master.

This is the beginning of the state of denial of your ego, or self-neglect. Your will is subordinate to that of the Master, you do not think, and you do what the Master commands you.

You will not have any doubts or questions. They will tell you that you are participating in the egregore of Sahaj Marg, the collective entity devoid of individual egos.

This is wrong, they will simply have brainwashed you; (or gotten you to brainwash yourself) your ego has not disappeared, it will only be subordinate to that of the Master.

So,  you are an abhyasi and you wonder about your practice?  Do not tell anyone, especially do not share your doubts. Run Away! (Save yourself!)

Sahaj Marg: Everthing is Predicted but Nothing Goes as Planned!

Translation of an article by Élodie, "Sahaj Marg: Tout est Prévu, Mais Rien ne se Passe Comme Prévu",  on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Nov. 16, 2014

Sahaj Marg: Everything is Predicted, but Nothing Goes as Planned

Last weekend, it's all we talked about at my home, the last whispers of Babuji, the bright future of the Mission and its future power. Here is some later research, where they are at,  in actuality:

After Chari's failed attempt, in his speech to the world of October 26th, to reassure his flock about the future of the mission, which ended in confusion (re: the recent Whisper (allegedly by Babuji) regarding the stated:  "fourth and final master"?), Babuji immediately took the floor. The Whispers of Babuji,  (allegedly from the Brighter World? or, as alleged by the "Anonymous French Lady Medium"), dead and buried for more than 30 years, manipulates the carrot and the stick in his messages of Oct. 29th and Oct. 30th, 2014 from the "Brighter World".

First the carrot of October 29th: "Do not concern yourself about these reactions concerning the future of the Mission; everything is predicted for her own good and that of all our faithful abhyasis in the world. Its major expansion will require a more structured implementation with senior officials in its different parts. (...) A high Hierarchy will ensure the cohesion of this essential structure for the proper functioning of the unprecedented spiritual empire it will become. It is not easy now to imagine what will be the future, but with regard to this wonderful path of Sahaj Marg, everything is for the best; we will make especially sure. Its power will be unprecedented: adapted to a new era,  and amazing in its effects. (...) "

Keep your confidence, your future and the future of the Mission are insured. Tomorrow, Sahaj Marg will be a spiritual empire, expanding to an astonishing and unprecedented power. A high Hierarchy  stands guard, cohesion will be provided by senior officials.

Implicitly, as in a mirror, it perfectly reveals the general feeling prevailing in the Mission: a lack of confidence and the egotistical fear of being abandoned, due to a deep fear for the future of the Mission, in its structure and it operation, a lack of cohesion causing its decay or its breakdown.

Then the stick October 30th: "Our very great son, Parthasarathi, a Master to all of you, has also greatly suffered in assuming the succession and the leadership of this great and beautiful Mission Sahaj Marg.  How can the fervent abhyasis, faithful Master in place, can not respect what has been long predicted and decreed by the higher authorities to ensure the succession when the time is right.  It is sad, after so many years, to come again to such adverse positions with respect to that. This aspect is serious and unsavory; let us hope that years of spiritual practices has brought a spirit of abandonment and especially of respect for our decisions by our real enthusiastic abhyasis.  The resistance in some abhyasis denotes a sad ego on a spiritual path suitable to bring them to the highest of their quest, which is not commonTo not grab this opportunity in life is unfortunate for the person and damaging for the whole Mission. (...) "

Some abhyasis, not fervent enough or loyal enthusiasts of the Master because of their ego, do not respect the decisions related to the succession (of the Mission?) taken by the higher authorities. It's sad, serious and unsavory, unfortunate for themselves and damaging to the Mission. In short, if all is not well, it is the fault of those bad abhyasis, as opposed to our true enthusiastic abhyasis.

Everything is planned (predicted?), we will make sure; but resistance and lack of respect for the decisions, is detrimental to the Mission. Everything is predicted, but nothing goes as planned.

In short, we must listen to the higher authorities, respect the officials and follow the decisions of the high hierarchy that will ensure the cohesion of the structure and its operation. Otherwise there will have to a "house-cleaning", to separate the real abhyasis from the bad

Welcome to spiritual dictatorship.

Sahaj Marg(tm) Exploits Fear!

Translation of an article by Elodie: "Le Sahaj Marg Exploite Les Peurs", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Nov. 11, 2014

Sahaj Marg Exploits Fear

When Chari is critical of (other?) religions, which happens often with him, there is no going with the back of the spoon, it's all bad. With the rise in the media  of religious extremism and  fanaticism, it's a bit too simplistic and facile.  Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Christians, etc. are for the most part, people with eminently respectable beliefs.

When Babuji, long dead and buried for more than 30 years now, in his (or the "Anonymous Medium's") Whispers, is critical of the current world, he (she?) does not also go at it with the back of the spoon. Everything is bad, humanity is doomed, disaster is inevitable. In these times of economic anxiety, especially of financial and existential crisis, it's a bit too simplistic and facile. Pouring oil on the fire comes from a rather irresponsible and childish attitude.

These Prophets of the Apocalypse cultivate worries, fears and anxiety. They exploit our (people's) fear, this emotions generated so often by imaginary threats, to better enslave us (them?). Babuji and Chari throw oil on the fire so as to claim that there is no salvation outside of Sahaj Marg.

When prophets thrive, humanity sinks to its basest instincts; emanating from the most vile ideologies and the most detestable political regimes.

Message from Michael, Ex-Preceptor of Sahaj Marg on the "Obedience to the Mission"

I received this message from Michael Nov. 3, 2014.  Michael is an ex-preceptor of Sahaj Marg in the Boston, Mass., USA area (1979-1990).  Michael knew Babuji and was appointed preceptor by Chari.  Michael has a blog, Inner Circle of SRCM, where you can read his in-depth views on the early history of Sahaj Marg and SRCM.  Here he tells us what he thinks of "obedience to the Mission":

Nov. 3, 2014

Obedience To The Mission

I approach all my experiences on this life's Journey with gratitude. In my youth, I thought my spirit Journey began in 1979 when I approached SRCM– 19 years old, seeking spiritual training and guidance. Guidance was lacking. The aging Master, inaccessible. Dissension within the group was looming. Yet, within the first few months, I experienced an inner calm in my heart center. This would ultimately be my companion and guide. No experience in my subsequent 10 years in SRCM has held a candle to this early experience. It has remained so to this day, more than 30 years later. I left SRCM in 1990 after much disappointment and betrayal. When the Master demanded I be “obedient to the Mission”, I left and never looked back. In fact, my true Spiritual Journey began at that very instant. I am grateful for the push! I would not trade this Journey for anything.

I hear from so many current and former SRCM abhyasis who struggle in their effort to achieve something spiritual. Many suffer from trauma inflicted upon them in their association with SRCM, its preceptors and hierarchy. Some struggle with confused thinking and low self esteem. Yet, I believe each and every one has experienced a centered heart early on their practice. The internal struggle results from the pursuit of spiritual achievements beyond the simplicity of a centered heart. That centered heart is the only constant on a Journey that never ends. Further harm is done by demanding obedience to the Mission.

What is the purpose of this obedience? What has this Mission created? Vast real estate holdings? Publications irrelevant to anyone who does not share in obedience to the Mission? What has the Mission done to uplift Humanity that merits obedience to it? The Mission anoints spiritual trainers who are but beginners, with little or no training of their own. Its hierarchy has neither the compassion nor the patience to affirm the divinity that exists in every aspirant's heart. Instead they proclaim that the highest divinity exists only in the one Master, as if nature hoards its abundance in only one heart! They forswear their disciples as merely slaves of wishes, full of grossness, in need of cleaning.

This behavior is the antithesis of the ancient spiritual truth - The truth, which declares the heart as the true guide, where at its core exists the spark of the Infinite. Only when one affirms this truth does the Infinite Journey begin! When one pursues a spiritual goal, they step off this Journey. They risk mental anguish, trauma and even insanity. Obedience to the Mission is a dangerous distraction. The Mission serves only itself. It serves only to perpetuate myths that perpetuate obedience to itself. The truth is, there exists no divine master to take you to an ultimate spiritual goal, because there is no goal. There is only the Journey itself – which is Infinite, and the heart is the only true guide and Master.

Sahaj Marg(tm): A Very "Real Estate" Spirituality

Translation of article by Alexis: "Sahaj Marg, une spiritualité très immobilière", published on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

September 28, 2014

Sahaj Marg: A Very "Real Estate" Spirituality

A new message from Alexis:
SRCM between the subtle levels and new construction

In the balance of Sahaj Marg(tm) between the spiritual and the material, apparently the assets, the built and the unbuilt Mission, is growing faster than the spirituality of the most subtle levels. But all this does not matter since the Master said that the SRCM is part of a great movement of spiritual paths, which eventually will merge to influence the evolution of humanity.

Fortunately, the abhyasis of Sahaj Marg are the pioneers ...

A quick little review of  recent press releases:

The program of the "colonies" continues to grow (Echoes of India, September 2014) and SRCM grows in North America, at the subtle (material?) level of  construction.  (Echoes of America, June 2014).

Rural Nellore

Abhyasis of Nellore centre have purchased 33 acres of land near Mannavarappadu village (Nellore Rural). Out of this, 5.85 acres was allocated for the construction of a meditation hall along with other facilities and the rest was divided into 300 plots.

(…)The estimated cost for the construction is Rs. 20 lakhs; a sum of Rs. 4 lakhs has also been allocated for the construction of a toilet block.

(…) the CIC urged abhyasis to come forward for voluntary work and help to the maximum extent in the construction process to enable completion of the project in the shortest possible time.

Hubli, Karnataka

Keeping the future in view, fourteen acres of land have been purchased with five acres of land for the ashram and nine acres for the abhyasi’s colony. The Joint Secretary of the Mission, A.P. Durai,

(…) asked abhyasis to build houses as early as possible in the plots they have bought because, without the colony, the whole concept of having an ashram in such a far place is futile.

(…) it was decided to take decisive steps to develop the infrastructure and create an abhyasi community next to the ashram very soon.

Growth of the Mission in North America

Master has said that our Mission is part of a grand movement of spiritual paths, which will eventually merge to affect the evolution of humanity.

The last four months have seen unprecedented growth of the Mission in North America. The abhyasi population has increased through open houses, word of mouth, Heartspeak activities and most importantly, His grace. To accommodate this growth, the number of prefects across Canada and the U.S. has increased.

We are hearing more about the future of the Mission from Master and from Whispers, saying that the time for growth has come. Master has said that our Mission is part of a grand movement of spiritual paths, which will eventually merge to affect the evolution of humanity. To reflect this more expansive view of the future of the Mission, we are moving away from focusing only on project-specific giving and taking a longer few of seeking a more sustainable way to support our infrastructure and growth.

We are pioneers of this movement, responsible for everything from the subtle level to building facilities, trusting that Master attends to all of our needs, from the most subtle onwards.

In 2014, North American growth is focused on having more Mission-owned centers to serve areas of large abhyasi populations, including the

* New center in Richmond, Virginia [$815, 000 USD]
* Expansion of the ashram in Monroe, New Jersey
* Development of the ashram in Toronto, Canada [an egregore and a fraternity ill at ease]
* New Meditation Hall at the Beavercreek Ashram

Sahaj Marg(tm) is Definitely Sinking Into SPIRITUALISM (not Spirituality!)

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Le Sahaj Marg Sombre Définitement Dans Le Spiritisme", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

September 21, 2014

Sahaj Marg(tm) Is Definitely Sinking  into SPIRITUALISM (not Spirituality!)

On their web site, it says: "Sahaj Marg is a way of life, allowing one to lead a balanced life in the middle of this modern world."

This lifestyle so-called "spiritual" is primarily a daily ritual of meditation, prayers and cleaning, plus the reading of Babuji's daily messages (?),  (from the yearly publication of "Whispers From the Brighter World"; Babuji, the founder of Sahaj Marg,  died in 1983), the Daily "whispers".

It (Sahaj Marg(tm) is also the abandonment of self, and love for the Master, apparently so difficult to achieve, that [Chari] asks us (them?) to obey and serve the Mission so as to better achieve this.

Sahaj Marg, a Spiritual Way of Life?

Obedience and service, is that really "spirituality"? Over time, these daily messages from ("the Central Region of their Brighter World  ... or "Heaven"?)  beyond, tend to suggest that Sahaj Marg(tm) is drifting toward spiritualism and/or spiritism (so-called in Europe)

Especially since it seems that Babuji is addressing the abhyasis in "near to real time" now. I was told by my family that "Babuji asked that the messages be published immediately."

Since this summer, Babuji (or his medium?) therefore addresses the abhyasis directly,  unlike the previously published: "Whispers From the Brighter World" 1 to 5, and/or, the  books (Whispers ... ?)  dating from 1999 to 2003.

The Spiritualist Drift of the Mission Reaches Its Peak.

What is the purpose of a "living  Master" in these conditions? There seems to be no need of an "incarnate"  Master (in Sahaj Marg (tm))

I'm curious to know what he (Babuji or "the Medium")  says today. Does anyone have any information?

Élodie

4d-Don says:   It seems that the Management Team is getting the "sheep" ready for Chari's "whispers" after he departs from this "material" plane of existence ...  More money for the coffers ... What a great SCAM!!.  Spiritualism is a SCAM!!

Let's see! The "Anonymous French Lady Medium" (AFLM) is now channeling Chari's Mother, Chari's wife, Lalaji, Babuji, some "other elevated souls", some "beings of light", and soon, Chari!!

My, My,  How Spiritualist they have become ... And they (most western disciples) used to laugh at other such SCAMS ...  How the "lofty" have fallen !!  they are now in a "cult" and/or a "spiritualist RELIGION"... And they have left spirituality way far behind ... in the past!!
.
