SRCM between the subtle levels and new construction
 
In the balance of Sahaj Marg(tm) between the spiritual and the material, apparently the assets, the built and the unbuilt Mission, is growing faster than the spirituality of the most subtle levels. But all this does not matter since the Master said that the SRCM is part of a great movement of spiritual paths, which eventually will merge to influence the evolution of humanity.

Fortunately, the abhyasis of Sahaj Marg are the pioneers ...  

A quick little review of  recent press releases:  

The program of the "colonies" continues to grow (Echoes of India, September 2014) and SRCM grows in North America, at the subtle (material?) level of  construction.  (Echoes of America, June 2014).

Rural Nellore 

Abhyasis of Nellore centre have purchased 33 acres of land near Mannavarappadu village (Nellore Rural). Out of this, 5.85 acres was allocated for the construction of a meditation hall along with other facilities and the rest was divided into 300 plots. 

(…)The estimated cost for the construction is Rs. 20 lakhs; a sum of Rs. 4 lakhs has also been allocated for the construction of a toilet block.

(…) the CIC urged abhyasis to come forward for voluntary work and help to the maximum extent in the construction process to enable completion of the project in the shortest possible time. 

Hubli, Karnataka 

Keeping the future in view, fourteen acres of land have been purchased with five acres of land for the ashram and nine acres for the abhyasi’s colony. The Joint Secretary of the Mission, A.P. Durai, 

(…) asked abhyasis to build houses as early as possible in the plots they have bought because, without the colony, the whole concept of having an ashram in such a far place is futile. 

(…) it was decided to take decisive steps to develop the infrastructure and create an abhyasi community next to the ashram very soon. 

Growth of the Mission in North America 

Master has said that our Mission is part of a grand movement of spiritual paths, which will eventually merge to affect the evolution of humanity. 

The last four months have seen unprecedented growth of the Mission in North America. The abhyasi population has increased through open houses, word of mouth, Heartspeak activities and most importantly, His grace. To accommodate this growth, the number of prefects across Canada and the U.S. has increased. 

We are hearing more about the future of the Mission from Master and from Whispers, saying that the time for growth has come. Master has said that our Mission is part of a grand movement of spiritual paths, which will eventually merge to affect the evolution of humanity. To reflect this more expansive view of the future of the Mission, we are moving away from focusing only on project-specific giving and taking a longer few of seeking a more sustainable way to support our infrastructure and growth.

We are pioneers of this movement, responsible for everything from the subtle level to building facilities, trusting that Master attends to all of our needs, from the most subtle onwards. 

In 2014, North American growth is focused on having more Mission-owned centers to serve areas of large abhyasi populations, including the 

* New center in Richmond, Virginia [$815, 000 USD] 

* Expansion of the ashram in Monroe, New Jersey 

* Development of the ashram in Toronto, Canada [an egregore and a fraternity ill at ease] 

* New Meditation Hall at the Beavercreek Ashram

Does he not know that the website of the Society for the Development of the Mission of his grandfather, Babuji has ceased to exist ...

Would Babuji have removed him from the important role that he had given him?  Or was it Chari who finally decided to again muzzle the ranters as he muzzled his cousins ​​Navneet Kumar Saxena and Puneet?
 
Certainly, the lineage of Babuji is struggling to counter the influence of Chari and his grip on Sahaj Marg ...

Parthasarthi diverting Mission funds for his family and the friends helping him in his game plan

For long before 1998, Parthasarthi’s only son Krishna and his family were not living with him. In that period, Krishna attended unsuccessfully several jobs/businesses. In the year 1999 or so, on Parthasarthi’s assuring his future with substantial hard cash, which is the way generally understood of securing anyone’s future, they all returned to him and are living since then in ‘Gayathri’ at Sri Ram Nagar, Chennai. Krishna ostensibly is not engaged in any independent occupation.

The house ‘Gayathri’ was beautifully and very lavishly renovated sometime back with diverted public funds legally which in reality belonged to Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Shahjahanpur (U.P.). There is nothing more that Krishna may have to spent in his lifetime on the house where he is living. Of course, a day will definitely come when Krishna would be at his wits to explain the source for that expensive renovation, etc.

Further, Krishna is the main beneficiary or trustee of various trusts created by his father, Parthasarthi, after grabbing the Presidentship of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Shahjahanpur. In fact, Krishna may inherit so much wealth created from diverted funds that his generation may not be required to do any kind of job, till such time the diverted funds and assets created out of that go back to the rightful owner, which is quite likely as per the law of nature. In that case, at least Krishna and his family will be hardest hit, as Krishna has not trained himself for any painstaking and intelligent occupational exercise. It is also generally seen that recipients of such unearned moneys acquire various unwanted habits injurious for themselves and the Society.

There are few persons like Madhava Reddy appearing as Parthasarthi’s friend and his best well wisher. In fact, he is one of those persons who have helped him in the Mission’s funds diversion drive either by offering as front person for the diverted funds or in various other ways. A few such front organizations are

- HTC Global Services (India) Private Ltd (Indian arm of US based Company ) with branches reportedly in USA, Canada, UK, Europe, UAE, Singapore, Hongkong, Australia

- HTC Finance Pvt Ltd

- HTC Development Centre Pvt Ltd, etc

Once enquiries and investigations start into diversion of Missions funds and their ultimate beneficiaries and uses, many startling disclosures will come to surface. Parthasarthi has to live to see the unfolding and play of that drama, of which he himself is the architect. May God bestow wisdom to all those who depend upon Him.

Wealth or Poverty? Opulence or Simple Life at Sahaj Marg(tm) and SRCM (California-1997) ?

Simplicity of Rev. Babuji Maharaj was considered as financial poverty (Part 27)

To most of his members of SRCM, Chari has tried to wrongly paint Rev. Babuji’s image as of a financially poor person. This is contrary to facts. In His Autobiography Part one He told all about Himself and His family eg. He used to go to school on His own horse, it was Royal young persons mode of transport. His large mansion like house, engagement of some servants in His house etc.,
etc.,

The reality is that His ways were simple. He wanted to present Himself as a simple, living person in line with His teachings. He was of the view that “Be plain and simple to be identical with nature”. He did not do what He did not say. “ He did what He said”. As a Founder of the system, He was convinced and equally conscious that His desired message will reach common person only if He presented Himself as a person true to His words and was simple like nature.

Unfortunately, Parthasarthi presented himself just the reverse, He talks of simplicity while sitting in a luxuries cottage fully equipped with all modern amenities. It will be seen that Rev. Babuji could afford those luxuries of His own but did not go in for them. But, Chari could not afford them, but after having managed the Presidentship of the Mission, he could buy those luxuries at the expenses of the Mission’s fund or funds received in Mission’s Rev Babuji’s name. Rev. Babuji talked of simplicity not from the air conditioned chamber, but from the place where He would be sitting even in the hot weather under a fan. Chari ’s talks, actions and living style are not matching and they give wrong signals to sensitive persons. The innocent members of Chari , one could even call them slaves, may say he needs all these luxuries because he is old. Our reply to them is that he is old now, but Rev. Babuji used to be much older than him even before he was sacked from the post of Mission ’s Secretaryship in 1982 and even then His living style was very simple.

People may compare the truth with untruth. He could afford luxuries from His personal money, and yet He rejected them and Parthsarthi could not afford them and yet he is enjoying all the luxuries on poor men’s donation money received in Rev. Babuji’s and Mission ’s names after he got seated himself in the President’s chair.

We suggest Parthasarthi’s innocent slave members that they better read his own written book ‘May Master’ in which he honestly talked about his inner fear to meet such a great personality in a simple form but who was financially very rich,as it appeared to him. Then compare and believe what he talks now.

The Portrait of Kamlesh Patel Comes into Focus 

Kamlesh Desaibhai Patel,  Plenipotentiary Vice President ?

Who is he? What does he do?

 Kamlesh Patel DesaiBhai was born in 1956 in Gujarat, a state in western India bordering Pakistan. He emigrated to the United States in the state of New York more than 20 years ago, and he lived in Staten Island with his wife Pratima K. Patel. They have two children, Akhilesh and Sahat, now aged around thirty.

Having reached 56 years of age, Patel, the pharmacist from Brooklyn is no longer a simple little neighborhood pharmacist. In fact, he controls in one way or another, many pharmacies, mainly in Brooklyn: Marg Pharmacy Inc,  Pharmacy Inc Carewell, Lindenwood Rx Center Inc, Woodhull Rx Prescription Center, Slope Drugs & Surgical Supply, etc..  He is also financially associated with Santosh Khanjee in a chain of hotels.

Patel was 27 years old at the death of Babuji.  Has he known him personally? In any case, he was an abhyasi before his 30th birthday. As with his wife, he is a preceptor for almost as long. This is a "top of the heap" member of Sahaj marg, who has passed through all the positions of responsibility (area-in-charge region-in-charge, etc..), to positions of Director of the American Foundation SMSF, grand mediator of the new Global Services Team of SRCM, successor to Chari since July 26, 2011 in replacement of the "resigned" Ajay Kumar Bhatter, and is now Plenipotentiary Vice President since the Special Bhandara of August 15, 2012.

Following his appointment in 2011, Patel returned to India to settle at the Garden of Hearts in Chennai, facing the Babuji Memorial Ashram. 

Vice President and Plenipotentiary successor, really? 

The SRCM magazine, Echoes of India in September 2012 devotes no less than 4 pages to the Special Bandhara, describing the event in detail, its organization and its prerequisites.  It summarizes the statements of Chari: 

“Master said that the Vice President shall exercise the powers, duties and responsibilities of the President under Master’s direct guidance and supervision.” [underlined by me]

I do not remember hearing that. Is this how we interpret things in India? So, what exactly did Chari say at the Bandhara?

“(…) [Prepare the documents today]: “as Vice-President who shall enjoy the powers of the constitution and shall do everything as if it is done by the President.” Appoint Kamlesh Patel as Vice-President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, who will enjoy all the powers of the constitution and by-laws, and all actions done by him will be as done by the President.” [underlined by me]
 
Chari's illness and the Bandhara have created turbulence within the Mission.  History repeats itself: in 1982-84, the Indians refused that Chari succeeds Babuji and now they struggle to recognize his successor.  Confusion reigns and disintegration threatens.

Through his pharmacies, in his family's or in his own name, Patel has made very large donations to the Mission, thus setting himself up as one of the mission's earliest funders (financiers).  Today, he fears for his investments and urgently calls for an emergency gathering so as to preserve Unity. Convinced that he paid dearly for his position, he sees the obstacles pop up one by one on his path.  The Indian are reluctant to accept him, not to mention the banderillas launched against the SRCM by Sharad, Babuji's grandson. Will he be refused his return on investment?  Nothing is gained, he will have to do battle to impose himself ...

Sahaj Marg(tm) and Babuji's "Unpublished Secrets of Nature"

Has Sahaj Marg, which Babuji claimed was "spirituality" (like Raja Yoga, but starting at step #7 of Patanjali's eight-fold path), now become "Sahaj Marg(tm)", a "spiritualist" religion, a cult of a personality (living or deceased) with an "Anonymous French Lady Medium" (AFLM), and many others all claiming to channel his messages and instructions from beyond the grave? (Babuji died in 1983)

Unpublished secrets of Nature by Rev. Babuji – where kept ?

Rev. Babuji not only founded the efficient Sahaj Marg system, but also left every details of His system under His own hand, leaving nothing for conjecture or interpretation by anyone else. Further, He explained the system in detail so that in future the system itself will serve as a proper guide, instead of any physical guide guiding people. So He gave every possible explanation about His system. To the best of my knowledge, I know of no system where the author left his system so full well explained, with no gap for anyone else to exercise his intellect or imagination to fill that gap thereby polluting the system either consciously or unconsciously. Apart from His published literature, the unpublished literature is also equally wide and valuable. Most of it was in safe boxes, almirah, etc. in the room next tothe puja-room or in office of His haveli. N.S. Rao, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, was the office assistant at Shahjahanpur, at the registered office of Shri Ram Chandra Mission which was at His personal residence. Rao was responsible for safety of Missions documents in his custody records, Rev. Babuji’s correspondence, etc. With in a short period of His mahasamadhi, practically all the important papers and documents disappeared – how ?

Many of the important papers, manuscripts, came into Chari ’s possession. Some of them he purchased and some of them he managed. He also got with him Rev. Lalaji Saheb’s unpublished literature from His great grand children and grand son. The ostensible explanation for getting them was that he ( Chari ) would publish them, but the real idea was to get them under his personal custody and keep them at some secret place so that they never see the light of the day.  Because those were the literature/writings of the Speical Personality/saint, every word of them was full of secret/real meaning, power and was original. He thought that his own writings would be no match to them. So he made all out efforts to get as much of them as possible. Chari asked Sharad also to give to him for safe custody whatever original documents he had got and made his son Krishna also to pursuade him. But dear Sharad never gave him any. He said to Chari that he had promised Rev Babuji that His writings will never go into wrong hands from his side. He got the clue that Chari had kept all those things in Germany so that those papers can not fall into the hands of anyone not liked by Chari and his family ?

Who would not like to print such rare caliber/Personality/ saints’ writings ? But Chari realized in very clear terms that if these were printed, his writing would carry on weight. He would not be able to popularize his own writings and books and would be deprived of invaluable earnings. He never published, to the best of my knowledge, any valuable unpublished matter of Rev. Babuji and Rev. Lalaji Saheb. Not only that, when Chari cunningly and forcibly took possession of the Mission Head-quarter’s Ashram at Shahjahanpur, there were thousand of printed copies stored there of Rev. Babuji’s diaries (seven volumes, each of which in thousands) - which were in urdu language and were got converted into Devnagri script (Hindi language) for mass consumption, all of them were consigned to flames to prevent its further sale and publicity, under instructions of Chari. These were the writings which Rev. Babuji had said not to be published in His life time. What would you like to call such a person !

That is how he has been able to publish his own books thinking him to be master in English and on spiritual subjects. Not only that, even books on non-existent facts as given in “whisper from Brighter world” fetched him exhorbitant money above Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) per copy. This fulfilled his unabetting appetite for money. Rev. Babuji has confirmed, as given out in the past on more than one occasion, that He gave no inspiration to any French lady, which is the basis of the writing ‘Whisper from Brighter world’ and further daily whispers coming out. What an amount of fresh pollution created by Chari – just only for money, his name & fame. When I took the said book in my hand I had headache, showing the intrinsic value of the same to me. When the things are normalized, such trash and spurious literature will have to be withdrawn and destroyed to save further pollution of innocent minds.

May God make the circumstances so that His invaluable unpublished literature is retrieved and brought out to enlighten the world about many nature’s secrets.

Unity or disintegration 

The special Bhandara of August 15, 2012, was seen as a major trauma by all the abhyasis and Sharad Chandra Saxena was quick to exploit the situation. 

Advocating a return to the fundamentals of Sahaj Marg, Sharad takes issue with Chari, his best spokesman and his sole rival.  Sharad in reality is working to destroy everything that was built by Chari. The enemy to be defeated is clearly identified, he will have to withstand the rigors of divine punishment. 

On September 27, 2012, at 3.40 am, in a direct intercommunication, Sharad asks Babuji what he expects of him. Babuji replies:   

“My mission to be told in the right way (…). My mission if not correctly explained to practice it shall give negative effect (…) Because people had explained in their own way adding their selfish material objects, which effects [sic, affects ?] my mission’s reputation.”

These critical events have generated turbulence within the Mission, as around it. In a burst of insight and lucidity, the day after the bhandara, Kamlesh Patel was already calling for unity. Babuji's special messages (whispers?)  from the Brighter World calling for an urgent coming together to preserve "the unity of the great Sahaj Marg family" have reinforced this sense of confusion and danger:  

“(…) Make it clear and irrefutable. You know human reactions better than anyone else, as you have suffered first-hand from them so much. Likewise, your future successor will endure a lot of it.

(…). We cannot avert all the turbulence prompted by your health problems (…).”

Each in his own heart remembers Chari's nightmare. In the greatest of confusion, SRCM now fears disintegration. From now on, there is only one permanent and omnipresent password, unity.  Hostilities are in the open, the "civil war" is raging. So the choice is simple, it is unity in the hope of avoiding disintegration.

Some complementary reflections:
 
First, about  Chari & the SRCM:

Despite his illness, he is still quite the ham, our Chari. To rejoice at having gathered 21,000 people in less than two days for his special bhandara: it is not about the guru one is thinking about, but about the star who titilates his own ego with his fanatical groupies ...

More alarming, in the face of adversity, SRCM is closing in on itself (fortress Sahaj Marg(tm) ). According to anti-cult groups, this is a signal of danger: heading towards a major risk of the society irreversibly skidding out of control!
 
The stopping of the dessimination of Echos of India and others on their website, the distribution of documents reserved for followers only, with passwords needed, etc..  also goes along with this sense of seclusion ...
 

 Next, about Sharad:  
  
“He is the only other person in the Mission, who has the power of inter-commune with Rev. Babuji.”

One wonders who the "other person" is, according to Sharad? The french anonymous (Medium)? Chari? If yes, how does he explain the contradictions? There must be one who is lying ... or Babuji is even more twisted we had ever imagined! 

Sharad has not received any comments to his posts on his website, so he is challenging one and the other to correct his remarks. And he adds that eventually, Chari would his most valid interlocutor. But faced with the silence of one and the other, and by default, it is to the questions and the comments posted on our blogs which he replies:

What has he done for 30 years? In 1982, Sharad was twenty years. Babuji told him he had to mature. He is fifty today, he  has matured, phew! 

The Paris Declaration? 

On this subject, Kishore affirms that Babuji had introduced the notion of decentralization of SRCM, asking him to create zones and appoint zonal secretaries.  In 1981, at the suggestion of Kishore, Babuji created the position of "Secretary for Overseas Centres" without consulting Chari.  In February 1982, "the last nail in the coffin" Babuji signed an amendment to the constitution of the Mission for the tenure of office to be limited to four years. Chari was secretary of the Mission for 15 years, he had to leave his job.  Finally,  Babuji confided to the care of Kishore to reconstitute the Working Committee of the Mission.  He appointed Kodanduraman, Chari's brother and Babuji told him that with these brothers, difficulties were going to be create.

One wonders how it is possible that Sharad was not appointed President in 1983 if his partner had the power to appoint committee members ...

Babuji would allegedly also have  forbidden that other preceptors be named after his death, and it is Srivastava who would apparently have been the first to disobey him.  Duly noted, but I do not know if Chari had permission to remove others appointed by Babuji as he did from 1983 to 1984 ... 

What about his cousins ​​Navneet & Puneet?

No answer. He's afraid to get "in the cold" with them? Finally, Kishore and Sharad go after all the survivors of the Babuji era, they only criticize Srivastava, Narayana and Chari. 

Chari submitted a letter of nomination as "President in the Sahaj Marg system".Note that Sharad and his society present Sahaj Marg by saying: "About the System Founded by Rev. Babuji Maharaj."

"Chari is propagating Sahaj Marg like a business executive - only preaching. In business personal life is personal, and not to be connected with official work and an office person can not comment on that. That is why all the persons in the organization created by him are only members – like member of so and so club, or say Sahaj-Marg club, but none is an abhyasi. This he himself admitted in his last year’s birthday function at Tirpur. Though belonging to a poor class family, Chari’s life style can be seen by anyone as most luxurious. 

This is unlike Rev. Babuji, who belonged to an aristocratic family, yet His personal life style was very simple. One of Chari’s rich follower at Delhi had to change his new car to the latest model as his master would not sit in an earlier model car ! Chari is said to be free with only persons say above hundred crore worth. Ajai Bhatter, Kamlesh Patel, being examples, which he himself has shown to the world. I do not ever recollect any occasion when to me Chari looked simple, which is not to be confused with outwardly simple dressed persons, many of whom are very complex inside. 

One has to be on their tip toes all the time to understood such persons . Alertness is a basic requirement in spirituality. It is no wonder that Chari has followers who refuse to be alert and do not exercise their mental faculties, because of which they have in him a Living Master. His actions are sufficient proof of his intent, if we are alert."

 Also reported are the statements of Chari by Patel after the (special - Aug. 15th) Bhandara: "Just on two days notice, so many have come ... they are my people!" He could just as easily have said that they were the spiritual seekers of Sahaj Marg or of Babuji (or of the divine?)! But no, he chose MY people ... (my people, my people, my fans, my slaves?!)

4d-Don's Comment:  Apparently, S.C. Kishore and Sharad Chandra Saxena, Babuji's grandson, are receiving these "spiritualist" (from the "Spirit" world) messages directly from Babuji, the Founder of Sahaj Marg, who passed away in 1983 and now allegedly resides in the "Central Region" of their "Brighter World".   They founded the Society for Babuji's Mission, to pubicize Babuji's wishes as expressed in his Messages.  

One would like to see the allegations which are made, substantiated.  Where is the evidence?  Does the Spirit of Babuji have any "proof"?  Allegations (I highlighted below)  such as: "He raised an empire of money by designating himself as Living Master and diverted that fortune to his family and friends at the cost of the Mission (SRCM)."

This morning at 6.00 A M (IST), Rev. Babuji said
“Hamara Kiya hua to jug zahir hai,”

“Hamare baad jo hogha, uska Khuda hafiz hai”

Rev. Babuji was born with power as He had to introduce something original to the world. For this reason such persons who are “founders” of their system have no ‘guru’ or ‘master’ . They are guided by themselves, like Lord Gautam Buddha, Jesus Christ and others.

Rev. Babuji had to popularize His concept of Sahaj – Marg that this system was for common man living in grahastha (family life) and he/she was not to renounce the family life for spirituality. He gave very high approaches by His power to certain persons even without their being capable of such approaches. Not only that, He also made them realize the conditions of higher regions where they were placed. They also wrote their conditions from time to time when they are in those Region/conditions and their experience were publicized and are well known. His idea was that efficacy of Sahaj Marg reaches ordinary house-holder through the experience of another householder with a view to create confidence in common man. Such preceptors were given position became known all over the world. These deeds of Rev. Babuji are visible to the world as also in the “Brighter World”. However, preceptors of the Mission, selected for the purpose, started considering themselves as another guru and practically side tracked Rev. Babuji except for lip-service. In consequence such persons slipped down even below their level at which they joined the Mission . Though Rev. Babuji was very unhappy with such behaviour of these persons and many other preceptors, Yet He tolerated them in the expectation that one day they would realize their mistakes.

Some of us are knowing what an amount of difficulty Rev. Babuji had to face in pushing Dr K.C.Vardhachari to liberated zone. But this became possible because He was physically living at that time.

But after the mahasamadhi, He has transformed into Power. After that several persons started using the power which they thought they were having by virtue of their being designated as ‘Preceptors’ by the Founder, for making money and popularizing them, the fore-runners amongst them being Sri K.C.Narayana s/o Dr K C Vardhachari and Parthasarthi Rajagopalachari, but in the race in a short span of time Chari bet others hallow. He raised an empire of money by designating himself as Living Master and diverted that fortune to his family and friends at the cost of the Mission (SRCM).

There were accusations that Babuji’s family members were not attentive towards puja. He was impartial to His family member and others for purposes of puja, He considered all alike. However, one of His family members has been rewarded by Him being worthy amongst all the abhyasis. For argument sake, on the same analogy, why did Chari not make his son Krishna as his successor ? In the first instance the person he made to succeed him, but he refused after sometime because it was money alone which he would be inheriting which will have problems, so he refused. The other person whom he has declared his successor to his money empire, has not yet declared his acceptance and is trying to wriggle out viewing the ensuing problems which shall follow him (Chari). This is Chari’s leadership that his own followers do not have confidence in him, unlike Rev. Babuji’s stewardship where several persons like Chari were created, which are known worldwise and still respected because they are Rev. Babuji’s followers. Chari could not make money in his own name though he was wordly wise. He could not do anything in his name as his name was not marketable. So he build the money empire in Rev. Babuji and Shri Ram Chandra Mission’s name.

Now, the abovesaid words of Rev. Babuji which He uttered in a voice full of sorrow “Hamare baad jo hogha, uska Khuda hafiz hai” will apply, because after merging with Power, there will be no emotions with power.

God only is the savior for all such persons.

Chari is now nearing the end, and Babuji returns to "front and center" stage, talkative and inexhaustible. Babuji is reborn while Chari is becoming eclipsed.

S.C. Kishore said :

Important wishes of Rev. Babuji Maharaj are still waiting to be brought into practice.

Full powers For Patel


What actually happened on August 15?

Chari began by resigning all his duties, but at the request of the Working Committee, he remains the president of SRCM, while giving full powers to his (newly-appointed?) vice president Kamlesh D. Patel.Patel is not quite yet the third president of the Mission, he probably will be after the death of Chari, but he now has all the power. Thus, as of today, Chari is nothing but a sort of honorary president.

Who is this Plenipotentiary Vice President ?

Kamlesh Desaibhai Patel was born in Gujarat (State in Western India bordering on Pakistan) some fifty years ago. He emigrated to the United States, to Staten Island, in the state of New York, more than 20 years ago, and became a pharmacist in Brooklyn.He is an early-comer to Sahaj Marg, an abhyasi from the earliest period, preceptor for almost as long, going through all the positions of responsibility (area-in-charge region-in-charge, etc..), to positions as director of the American Foundation (Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation -SMSF) and chief mediator of the new World Service Team of SRCM. He made several "donations" to the SRCM, among which ten acres of land for a retirement center.He has been appointed by Chari as his successor, the next spiritual Representative of his divine master, Babuji and future President of SRCM for life, in a written document written at the Diamond Jubilee Park at Tiruppur, July 26, 2011, and co-signed by U.S. Bajpai, AK Bhatter Bhatia and Sanjay, but officially announced two months later. This second Tiruppur statement has received approval from Babuji, in a message to Chari, confirming the choice of the person to succeed him.
Following his appointment, Patel moved to the Garden of Hearts (Chennai), at the Babuji Memorial Ashram.

The reactions were not long to arrive!

Navneet and Puneet (sons of Umesh) remain silent, but that is not the case with their cousin Sharad Chandra Saxena, the eldest son of Babuji's grandchildren and his sidekick Shubh Chintak Kishore. In 1982, Babuji (allegedly) told him: “nature will punish him [Chari] during his last living days. (…) Sharad all I have, I have transferred it to you. Here after you will be the one and only powerful person”. Today, Sharad adds: “Recently, when I came to know about Chari’s physical condition, I remembered His said words; now nature has started taking its part.”

S.C. Kishore adds that the courts have only designated Chari as intermediary president, and that, thanks to his ill-gotten money at the head of the Mission. Accordingly, he has no right to appoint the next president. He (allegedly) would also have manipulated the financial accounts of the Sahaj Marg Mission, diverting it from its objectives. According to Kishore, anyone can increase the number of abhyasis, but few can guarantee honesty in the financial management of the Mission and the purity of Sahaj Marg. Babuji has (allegedly) appointed his grandson Sharad, and S.C. Kishore to take things in hand, under his direct supervision See: (www.societyforbabujismission.org.in under "Latest Events").

The claims of the descendants of Babuji so as to recover the mission is far from extinct. Is it to reinstate the purity of the system or to benefit at their turn from the accumulated wealth? Everyone will decide for him/herself.

From his side Narayana, son of Dr. Varadachari, and as well the followers of Sister Kasturi, have never accepted that Chari may be the spiritual representative of Babuji. It is not today that they will change. Http://lalajibabujikasturiji.blogspot.com/ on August 11, Ek abhyasi quotes Babuji:
"Persons who claim that they have made their conscience as their guru, are under a wrong notion because the fact is that not the conscience but their ego becomes their guru which leads to undesirable results.

(…) 'Please do not take any thing for granted even if God in human form comes and says that He is God unless and until He makes you understand according to your level of wisdom that why and how He is so.' This will develop clarity in understanding which will tell us about the fake spiritual leader from whom one should get rid of soon".

(…) The exceptional thing with Babuji Maharaj is that he never treated himself a guru rather he used to say and has also written in his book "Reality at Dawn","God is the real guru or Master and we get light from Him alone. But as it is extremely difficult for a man of ordinary talent to draw inspiration from God direct, we seek one of our fellow beings who has established his connection with Almighty. He must, therefore, treat himself as the humblest servant of God serving humanity in the name of the Great Master. All through his (Lalaji) life, he treated his associates as brethren. The idea that they were his disciples never once crossed his mind. I think and feel it as an essential thing for a guru to give up his masterly position and feel himself an ordinary servant of humanity. If he feels himself as a Master and hence far above his associates, it will be Ahankar (ego) of the worst type in a guru."The critical watermark of the behavior of Chari, the ordinary man, is obvious.

No applause came to punctuate Chari's proposal to appoint Kamlesh Patel as the head of the Mission. The applause of the 2,000 abhyasis in the room began to resonate when the Working Committee had asked Chari to remain as president and he accepted. Patel, ostensibly very emotional by Chari's proposal, must have felt very alone and began to measure the difficulties which lie ahead for him to one day being recognized and approved.

He will have to win the souls of the abhyasis one by one intern-ally, if he wants to one day enjoy the same popularity as Chari. And now externally, one can also notice things stirring, the last thirty years (1983-2012) may well have been a parenthesis in the history of Sahaj Marg, that could be closing at Chari's death. For once, Chari's nightmare of seeing his SRCM (California-1997) disintegrate into 240 small missions could be prescient. For spirituality in general, it is the best we can hope for.

Dear brothers and sisters,

I thank you all for coming to this Extra-Ordinary Annual General meeting at such short notice, especially after most of you have been to Tiruppur – after a wild goose chase there. Circumstances beyond my control have brought out these events, and it is with great personal effort that I am here before you today. Your response, your overwhelming response, indicates to me that what my dear Babuji Maharaj writes again and again in Whispers is true: that hearts are beginning to open to Reality, that people want the spiritual life more and more, are willing to commit themselves more and more, and give themselves to it more and more, which is a very good sign. Now I have been in bed for forty-five days, since the fifth of July. The first two, three weeks went very bad. Subsequently also it is not so very bad, but bad. I think, personally I think, it will take a few more weeks for me to be on my feet though my doctors say, “Today,” “Tomorrow,” “Today,” “Tomorrow.” I have been thinking a lot about the Mission. Over the past two and a half, three years, I have sent messages to Babuji Maharaj that my eyesight is failing. He knows about it. Of course, he says, “These things happen,” but the practical implication is that I can’t read emails, somebody has to read them; I have to dictate, somebody has to type them, and that is not something that a president should be doing. It is not correct. When I sign cheques I have to ask brother MDS, “Where is this going? What for? What is the amount?” and then sign, because I can’t see. Now, during the last one month, my signature itself has become a scribble, sort of. So I have come to the conclusion that it would not be proper for me to continue as President. After all, Kamlesh Patel is ready. He has been nominated and accepted worldwide. All the legal things have been put in place. There is nothing … the working committee must just take a signature from him saying, “I accept to be the President,” like they did in Hyderabad in ’83, and that is that, you see. So to make sure that I would not be going on the wrong track, I wrote to beloved Babuji Maharaj. Somebody read it.

This letter is written by our beloved Master:

Beloved Babuji Maharaj,

I prostrate at your feet. I have been very unwell for four weeks now, during which I have suffered a great deal. I have turned eighty-five years old. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Solely in the interests of the Mission and its proper guidance, I propose to transfer all the powers of the President, under the constitution and by-laws, to brother Kamlesh Patel and request the working committee to announce him as the third president of the Mission on the fifteenth of August 2012. He is ready for the job and all the legal formalities have already been put in place. I have therefore called for an extra-ordinary general meeting of the Mission on the fifteenth August morning, which is to accomplish this fact. On that morning, I shall cease to be the President and Kamlesh Patel shall take over as the next representative.

On that morning, I shall cease to be President, and Kamlesh Patel shall take over as the next representative. I have to humbly make this suggestion because my body is very weak. During these four weeks I have been spoon-fed by my children and unable to get out of bed. I do not foresee any improvement in my health status. My dearest son, That idea is agreeable to us. You may implement it according to the wishes you have expressed. You must imperatively free yourself from anything that currently weighs heavily on you. As we have said previously, the essential part of your activity is going on in a masterly fashion. Make all the decisions you deem appropriate. Make it all clear and irrefutable. You know human reactions better than anyone else, as you have suffered first-hand from them so much. Likewise, your future successor will endure a lot of it. Take care of yourself, dear great Parthasarathi. You are so precious to our hearts. The remainder of your Earthly life is important in terms of clarifying things. We cannot avert all the turbulence prompted by your health problems. You know the matter well; it is needless to insist on it. Do everything you deem necessary for your peace of mind and the welfare of the Mission. More than ever, we are at your side. Be at peace as much as the current situation permits. When you come and rejoin us on the heavenly fields with the whole of your bodies, you will be able to truly assess the incredible work you have accomplished for this great Mission. We carry you with utmost love and we support you in every respect.

PR : Apart from these messages, which are my personal exchanges with Babuji Maharaj, he has been sending open messages every day for the last two, three weeks, emphasising the importance of whatever it is. I am not running away from anything. You all know I have never run away from anything. But when I cannot do anything, what is the alternative? So that is why I have taken this decision. The working committee may deliberate on it and let me know what they want. All right?

[My doctors, who are all around me, tell me that I should go straight to bed and that I have strained myself too much. I regret that I will not be able meet each one of you individually, nor say goodbye. It may happen when we meet again.
