Sahaj Marg: The Good and the Bad Abhyasis

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Sahaj Marg: les bons et les mauvais abhyasis", on her blog is Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Sahaj Marg: The good and the bad Abhyasis

The good and the bad abhyasis, the good and bad preceptors. The real human beings and the others.

True to Chari's way of doing things, Patel is no exception to the rule: there are now good and bad abhyasis, good and bad tutors: "I clean abhyasis and I'm superior to them."

The bad ones are not even worthy of being considered human beings, "manners and attitude are so poor they do not even have close to the human being".

I don't dare imagine how he perceives those outside his movement; worse than animals?

But what worries him has nothing to do with humanity and spirituality. What worries him is the outside view, the judgment of others, "How are they going to represent our Sahaj Marg spiritual movement and inspire others to join us?"

This was some of the information brought forward in his search for peer public speakers (proselytizing?).

Does the image of Sahaj Marg and Heartfulness that Kamlesh Patel tries to sell to the outside world, have a foundation in reality or is it all a pipe dream?

Élodie

Read this short exerpt:

“Serve with Anonymity”, a speech by Kamlesh Patel on January 29th, 2016 at Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh, India)

Exerpt:

(…) Another problem we face is that some abhyasis can be so uncivil in their approach. Even though they may know a little bit of Sahaj Marg, their mannerisms and their attitude are so poor that they don’t even come close to being human. How will they represent our Sahaj Marg Spiritual Movement and inspire others to join us?

We will not be able to fulfil our own spiritual goal, let alone help others, unless and until we remain calm, peaceful and dedicated from within. Our behaviour matters. To serve as a preceptor does not give us some sort of privilege to enter the Brighter World. In fact, I have observed again and again that when a person is made a preceptor, generally his or her progress is arrested for a long, long time until he or she wakes up and says, “No, this is not the way I should live my life.” Why? Because they feel they have achieved something, and the ego inflates instead of becoming less and less.

Becoming a preceptor does not mean that you have achieved something. Nothing has been achieved yet. It is an extra responsibility given. It is like volunteer work; whether you clean the toilet or whether you clean the abhyasi's heart, it is the same thing. Those who are cleaning toilets think themselves to be too low and they continue to receive Grace from above, while the preceptors think, “I am cleaning the abhyasis and I am superior to them.” How to redeem such cases? It is very difficult. (…)

Babuji of Sahaj Marg: Do As I Say, Not As I Do

Translation of an article by Élodie: "Babuji: Faites ce que je dis mais pas ce que je fais",  on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Babuji: Do As I Say, Not As I Do

Babuji, the "spirit of the dead" allegedly channeled by the (French lady) medium, Peyret in 1999 contradicts the Babuji who was alive in 1969-70! Is the medium finally trapped?

"Yes, our remarks of yesterday may be expanded to racism. What could be sadder, at this time when men believe that our civilization is at its highest level, than [that we are] seeing beings tearing each other apart because of their racial differences, some ethnicities being sacrificed because they bother!"

Allegedly from Babuji, in the Whisper From the Brighter World of Wednesday, November 17, 1999 - 8:00 AM

Please Reread this: The complexion of the stepdaughter of Babuji, was it clear enough?

See below for more links

Claude

Was the complexion of the stepdaughter of Babuji white enough? (Alexis ... in French)

The complexion of the girl who married his son Umesh is an important issue (for Babuji and Chari).  That is the subject of the following exchange of letters between him (Babuji)  and Chari.

Excerpts from "Letters of the Master" (tome3) around 1969-1970:
According to a comment by Frank Waaldijk (ex Zone-In-Charge for SRCM in the Netherlands.... appointed by Chari)  posted November 9, 2010 on the Élodie's blog:

In an exchange of letters dating from 1969 to 1970, Babuji and Chari exchange on the qualities of different girls, in order to finalize the marriage of his son Umesh without consulting him. From the photo he received, Babuji noted that the shape of the face of the first is correct and that he was told she had fair skin (white-ish?). Later Chari replies that another girl is a good painter, is well versed in household chores, but that she has a dark complexion (Savla). In turn, Babuji responds about another girl, who is taking a class in psychology, has a fair skin, a good disposition (attitude?) and has the correct height.

Letter of October 31, 1969 - Babuji to Chari (page 57):

" (…) An officer in the Ministry of Home Affairs has started marriage negotiations for his daughter with Umesh. I have a mind to finalise the marriage of Umesh without consulting him if he does not object. I shall give him a good match. I received the photo of the girl today. The face-cut is good and I am told by one of my near relatives that she has white complexion."

Letter from Chari à Babuji,  Mar 16, 1970 (page 72) :

"A gentleman by name Mr. S-- S-- and his wif called on us yesterday evening on behalf of Shri RPS-- of Hardoi, said to be a retired sessions judge and a close associate of your family for the last 25 years. They came to meet us and Chi. Umesh in connection with a proposal to marry Sow. C--, one of the daughters of the judge Shri RP--. The girl is stated to be an MA, a good artist in painting, well versed in domestic duties, but complexion is "savla". I have requested Mrs. S-- S--, who is related to Mr. RP--, that she should write to Mr. RP-- to contact you directly. I trust they will do so."

Letter from Babuji to Chari, Mar 27, 1970 :

"Mr. CA R-- has suggested a good match for Umesh at Bombay. The father of the girl is going to present Rs. 5000/- in cash to the boy, and jewellery worth Rs. 5000/- plus other things as a gift. I respect the opinion of your father but I have already given consent to the person at Moradabad. I have written to him that I like the girl and when you approve the boy I may proceed towards the finalisation. The girl is second class MA in Psychology, fair complexioned and having good cut and her height is good. There is no question of dowry from my side.

The father of the girl is Divisional Signal Engineer, Northern Railway, Moradabad, and the family is well-educated. The father of the girl will also go to Madras after 4th April 1970 to see Umesh. His name is RN--."

It`s as if he (they?) was describing farm animals, I'm sorry to sayThis does not mean that his teachings are completely wrong, just that he himself can not follow them either ...

Sahaj Marg: Patel/Peyret, A Two-Headed Mission

Translation of an article by Elodie: "Sahaj Marg: Patel/Peyret, Une Mission Bicéphale", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

September 27, 2015

Sahaj Marg: Patel / Peyret, a Two-Headed Mission

Kamlesh Patel took the reins of power nine months ago, first starting by criticizing the patronage system of his predecessor Chari, and then upsetting the role of preceptors and transforming thoroughly the approach of Sahaj Marg with Heartfulness Meditation. A Revolution in the operation of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission, which does not awaken any great waves of protests, apparently.

The key to its success hinges on the seamless approval and support of the Masters Heirarchy from the Brighter

World, namely the recurring messages from "Whispers" written by the medium and disseminated daily by the Mission.

What would happen if the AFLM (Anonymous French Lady Medium) lost the inspiration or suddenly disavowed the Patel method?

The last living Master of Sahaj Marg is not an imbecil, he immediately recognized his Achilles heel and he now assiduously courts the one of whom he revealed the anonymity:
“our most cherished medium Mother Helene Peyret“.

The first action of the new guru / President of SRCM was to go to the bedside of the medium in France, in Montpellier. It was January 3, only two weeks after the death of Chari. In May 2015, Patel returned to see her again,  just prior to launching with great fanfare the meditation program Heartfulness Meditation in Lyon, (in the South of France).

And on September 2nd, he was again at  Helen Peyret's place who, a few days later, wrote this message (a whisper written by the medium and (allegedly?) signed by Babuji, dated September 9th, 2015):

"Sahaj Marg has become a vast movement whose importance will be confirmed over time; it evolves into different aspects of practice to better adapt to various needs. The current Master at the helm of this very large ship is not only guided, but he has some very remarkable personal resources that allow him to deal (with issues?) as he should. He is supported by the entire Hierarchy, which approves all those necessary changes. (...) It is not always easy to gather together, and to convince all the elements of a large family on the need for such a transformation, and yet it is only necessary to adapt so as to better progress and then act in the direction of  what is good for this Sahaj Marg Mission which is so dear to us. (...) "

Alexis wrote on January 13th: Sahaj Marg; When a Woman Takes Power

"Who really leads the Mission today? Patel or Babuji and Chari from Beyond? The medium or Patel? To ask the question is to reply ... (...) Like a "gray eminence" (power behind the throne?), the medium directs Patel. Sahaj Marg and SRCM are controlled from behind the scene, by a woman. For now, Patel and the medium seem to agree. The medium approves the decisions made by Chari in his lifetime, she seems to have chosen to give her support to Patel. But until when? Tomorrow things could change ... and who would win? Does Patel control the medium? Nothing is less certain! Unless he (Patel) himself writes the so-called messages (Whispers?) of Babuji and Chari, Patel is totally subjected to  her influence. (...) "

Every four months, Patel goes to the home of his favorite medium for this pampering. The main promoter of unity within the Mission, Patel dearly bought his legitimacy by begging the support of Helen Peyret, who for the moment grants it to him.

Chari died December 20, 2014. Seven days later, Helen Peyret writes:

"(...) Changes will occur in the Mission: New rules will be established (...)". And the next day: "(...) While decisions will be taken; he [Patel] will be constantly guided and better informed about what to do. (...)"

In their time, Babuji and Chari said that the Master of Sahaj Marg could never be a woman. The dependency relationship is reciprocal, but remains fragile.

Hélène Peyret (apparently?  Because she is a woman?) cannot become a master of Sahaj Marg, but nothing prevents her from disavowing Patel with an "assassin whisper". What would happen then?

And in this duet in which each holds the other up, which of the two is responsible for the current transformations?

Heartfulness Meditation or Sahaj Marg?

Translation of an article by Alexis: "Heartfulness Meditation ou Sahaj Marg?", on Élodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

June 8, 2015

Heartfulness Meditation or Sahaj Marg?

A new message from Alexis: Heartfulness Meditation, the New Face of Sahaj Marg

Six months since Chari's death, and the Patel / Medium duo has placed an indelible mark on the Mission. The roadmap of their project is widely implemented:

The General Aim in view:

To make (the abhyasis) dream and win the support of the adherents so as to tilt the world towards spirituality.  Its operational implementation is to develop the membership of the SRCM.

Practical means

"Be contagious" each abhyasi must recruit a new follower per year, to allow for exponential growth.

Multiplication of the preceptors' duties especially vis-à-vis the new arrivals.

Development of Heartfulness Meditation, a hidden Sahaj Marg which moves forward without mentioning its name.

Result  Indicators:

We are already seeing an increase in membership. Hyderabad ashram is the scene of an ever-stronger egregore. The effects of the announcements allows one to ignore reality and be self-satisfied.

Implementation:
The example of Lyon (France) Seminar (May 15 to 17):

To gather 2,000 European abhyasis and to open the invitation to all during the  "Heartfulness" seminar sessions. Icing on the cake: an egregore with sensitive effects is reported by the abhyasis.

"The number of our abhyasis is growing, a very special egregore is also developing dramatically; it has just begun and we are happy. "(Whisper 4/03/2015)

“The second idea Kamlesh bhai developed was the importance of the collective (...) : without ‘us’ egregore is not possible. And as Babuji puts it, so nicely, ‘I need help from you all.’ Imagine the great Master asking us for help, and what sort of help is he asking for? (...) Because with such an attitude, practising, I am able to create a certain vibratory level, and when so many individuals come up together like that it creates an egregore. According to him, when a certain vibratory level will be reached on this planet, when that tipping point is reached, the mutation will happen automatically.” (May 15, 2015, Heartfulness Seminar, Lyon, France)

"Abhyasis from Lyon have reported that the atmosphere of the entire city seems to have changed, including the behaviour of people. There was a new warmth and openness that hadn't been seen before in the city, and that has instilled joy in the hearts of all." (Bulletin No: 2015.55)

Sahaj Marg's "Mecca"??

Translation of an article by Elodie:  "La Mecque du Sahaj Marg", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

May 3, 2015.

Sahaj Marg's Mecca?

Will Kamlesh Patel change Sahaj Marg? Is he very different from Chari? His recent speeches and recent events show us that unfortunately this is not the case.

Friday, Avril 17th, 2015, Fatehgarh, Kamlesh bhai said, “The Hierarchy wants to convey that the time has come for the Mission to grow rapidly.”

Saturday, Avril 18th, 2015, Lucknow, he recalled Master Chariji’s advice for growing the Mission “Every abhyasi brings one new abhyasi every year.”

In his first public speaking, Kamlesh Patel called for unity. He then strongly emphasized discipline. Today, he re-launches the proselyte project of the Mission.

If one believes the Whispers (From the Brighter World), these psychic messages from the "hierarchy" of the (alleged) previous masters of Sahaj Marg, SRCM is growing and needs to accelerate the movement. Hence the increase in the powers of the preceptors by Patel, hence the creation of this new heartfulness.org website to lure people on a spiritual search, and hence the relaunching of proselytizing.

Kanha project - in pursuit of extravagant projects

In 1999, Chari inaugurated the Babuji Memorial Ashram at Manapakkam, the first "jewel" of Sahaj Marg, the first major sumptuous project of the Mission.

April 26, 2015, on the eve of the celebration of Babuji's anniversary in Lucknow, Patel attended the erection of a statue of Babuji at the building under construction at Kanha Shanti Vanam. A statue of 13 tons and almost 10 meters high, a hundred sheets of metal cast in a mold from a gold alloy of five metals.

The statue of Babuji will from now on sit above a bright star-shaped building, which will itself be the focus of a future building in the shape of a heart, to portray the aerial view of the esoteric symbol published in  whispers (From the Brighter World) .

This project Patel called the "Mecca of Sahaj Marg" (April 10, 2015) was born "with a handful of extremely dedicated abhyasis, thirty kilometers south of the new international airport in Hyderabad," because the "Mission's growth has also signified that we were financially able to tackle larger (more important?) projects. "

Nothing is Too Beautiful to Celebrate the Greatness of This Spiritual Path

"The Masters of the past united cast their gaze on this grand work which is being built at Hyderabad.  There will be the "high place" of Sahaj Marg, where great things will be accomplished under the impulse of the current Master, Kamlesh Patel."

"(...) Nothing is to beautiful to celebrate the greatness of this spiritual path as it will be perceived in the future. Precedents have thus marked this world; why could Sahaj Marg not accomplish this also, in the framework that is its own! (...) Large buildings around the world tell of this humanity, and this in its various forms (...). Yes, this site will be visited and appreciated, it will be highly charged, and that by God's grace (...)." (Whisper of  March 31, 2015)

Thus, "our masters have created a future for us; a future where we will be safe, free to practice and grow in these beautiful places, spiritually charged." Says Patel. As if the followers of Sahaj Marg were neither safe nor free to practice today.

Codenamed "Kanha Shanti Vanam"

Remember what we learned from Alexis last November, that this project matured by Chari since 2008 from a living place with an ashram and living space for the abhyasis, a colony based on 4 charities created in 2010 with the acquisition of 200 to 300 ha (hectares) by this handful of a dozen (or so?) extremely dedicated abhyasis, most of which are large investors and entrepreneurs.

Let us not forget that the mission's foreign capital comes by over 50% from three people: two computer designer and pharmaceutical Indian American start-up, and (a Russian?) oligarch from Transnistria.
Settlement (colonial?)  Projects Sahaj Marg

By pursuing Chari's draft, Patel subscribes definitely to the continuity of his predecessor.  His program can be summarized as: Unity, Discipline and proselytism, more than ever inspired by the mediums.

Bulletin No: 2015.42 – Tuesday April 28, 2015 :

(…) Our beloved Chariji Maharaj had a special project close to his heart. Not many people knew about it, except towards the end. Actually, at its inception, probably only he and Mr Varma, the engineer, knew. The initial idea was to create a special grand memorial to his dear Master, Babuji Maharaj. He had already created a gem, the Babuji Memorial Ashram in Manapakkam, and at the time he was like a child, confiding he was not able to believe that this had been possible. Then time flew and new developments emerged. The idea of a beautiful samadhi for Babuji in Shahjahanpur developed along its own lines. The limiting factor there was space. The Mission grew in leaps and bounds and there was a greater need to have larger spaces for abhyasis to gather and also to live.

The growth of the Mission also meant that we were financially able to tackle larger projects. Then came the acquisition and development of a huge area by a small band of extremely dedicated abhyasis, thirty kilometres to the south of the new international airport in Hyderabad. Chariji Maharaj chose this place for an unparalleled memorial.

His path had some years back crossed that of a very talented sculptor, Mr Prajapati, who resided in Jaipur, and he started commissioning statues from him to embellish the ashram in Manapakkam. Then came the plan for a huge statue at Kanha, to sit on top of the building dedicated to the new culture created by Babuji. This building is in the form of the heart-shaped esoteric symbol and it can be seen from aircraft flying in and out of Hyderabad. The total height is limited by the Airport Authority regulations at fifty-two feet. Over time it has become clearer that people from all over will flock to this memorial and it will become a well-known centre of light; it is so spectacular.
On Sunday the 26th of April the statue of Babuji Maharaj was finally installed, under the supervision of beloved Kamlesh bhai. On its own, it stands at thirty feet, and it is a true work of art.

The face is so expressive and serene, and the fine hand-beaten work is lifelike in its detail. It is made of an alloy of five metals, and approximately one hundred sheets of metal cast from moulds made from the clay original were welded seamlessly together. The statue weighs thirteen tons.

As we waited the night before, the extremely fine atmosphere of this place nurtured us. It is amazingly light. We were all left speechless at the grandeur of the design of the whole thing, and the dedication of the band of workers who are making the dream of the Masters come true. It feels as if Chariji Maharaj is overjoyed to see this.

We can only be grateful at the manner in which our Masters have created a future for us; a future where we can be safe, free to practice and to grow in such beautiful, spiritually-charged places.

Compulsive Seduction at Sahaj Marg

Translation of an article by Alexis: "Seduction Compulsive au Sahaj Marg",  on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

April 29, 2015

Compulsive Seduction at  Sahaj Marg

After the Natural Path Meditation on MeetUp.com after the makeover of the home page of Sahajmarg.org, here Heartfulness.org is a step closer to a sanitized presentation of Sahaj Marg and the Shri Ram Chandra Mssion (SRCM) .

As Michael (ex-preceptor - See: Inner Circle of SRCM) said about the Natural Path Meditation, the SRCM understands that people are attracted to spirituality, but that they find gurus scary.

Here, one finds no mention of a Master or a Guru, no mention of Sahaj Marg or of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission  (SRCM) (except in the trailer, where we find that: Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation Inc. is at the origin of this new website).

Here is a Small Exerpt:

Heartfulness, a spiritual adventure
Learn to Meditate with the help of yogic transmission
Experience the beauty of the heart
 Experience Heartfulness
The Way of Experience

Here, everything is based on aesthetics: beautiful pictures and some good evocative words with neat calligraphy. Sleek site for the pleasure of the eye and/or the senses! Everything must attract, nothing should "put one off" ...

There are links to all the social networks! And of course, a whole stack of appointments (rendez-vous?)  whereby one can discover this "new" (and "unique"??) spiritual adventure.

Kamlesh Patel has enhanced the preceptors' field of expertise, in order for them to be able to welcome all newcomers. SRCM has spread its nets and dropped its hooks in the hope that the fishing will be good ...

Opinion: Alexis in a Pact (Colludes?) with Patel?

Translation of an article by Alexis: Opinion: Alexis Pactise Avec Patel?, on Élodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Opinion: Alexis in a Pact (Colludes?) with Patel?

Élodie said: A confusing message from Alexis. Surprising and amazing for him. Feel free to respond.

For me, it seems a little early to see real change. And it is to forget a lot of the foundations of Sahaj Marg which carry in themselves the drifting which they generate.

Patel: A Discourse of Change?

Almost 4 months since Chari passed away, nearly 4 months since Patel is in charge.

Finished (is) the obedience and the service, finished the great lessons, the criticism, the arrogance and the aggression. The speech of the "giver of lessons", Chari, have gone by the wayside.

Patel's speeches are of quite another kind. The attitude has changed, the man speaks in a more simple and soothing fashion, humbly.  It is clear that Patel has radically transformed the speeches of Sahaj Marg. This is much more like the idea that I have of spirituality.

Hopefully it is not simply posturing, but a deep and lasting change.

Obviously, the attitude of one man will not completely transform the SRCM and Sahaj Marg, but we can already welcome this progress.

Too bad Patel has not yet distanced himself from the spiritualism of the mediums of Whispers (from the Brighter World).
