I thought that he should also be able to forgive me and continue to love me in spite of what falsely appeared to some as a lack of faith. It seemed obvious that the Master would have respect for the courageous act of engaging in a frank and open debate, noble values, on a deep concern for the good of the mission and its abhyasis. Such an invitation seems honest and respectful of the process of the newcomer. But this is one more trap whose aim is to create faith by habituation, to gain time for the process of mind control to begin to produce its effect and generate belief in the newcomer.
For in truth, who would dare test the system from the outset? Who really is testing the system before becoming a bigot? Who has the capability, a hysterical faith, to step back and do this test? And first of all, what is the usefulness of testing one thing if we are convinced? You see the logic, and why, when Chari said, "try and test the system before deciding", he knows he runs no risk. That some businessmen and some capitalists, as well as some religions, are "globalists" and empirialists is common knowledge. We will inevitably become a global society or a "civilization ONE" (as Michio Kaku, physicist, calls our next societal step) by necessity, so as to deal with the problems and the opportunities we face now and in the future: pollution, poverty, population, war, etc... and also, outer and inner space exploration and all the resources and collaborations that entails.
I would not give SRCM that much importance in the scheme of GLOBALIZATION except that Chari, and his gang of businessmen, are now in control through a "questionable " take-over, and that he is an ex-CEO of TTK Group. He is connected to the "right" and their Global agenda through his past. We see in all countries and societies, that the "fundamentalists", the "conservatives", being more ruthless and addicted to material power than the "liberals", and their abstractions, are usually the ones who "take-over" the material structures from the "liberals" and their smaller numbers in most organizations. Chari's views on India, the USA, the World, Women, etc...(2001)
This is from a transcript that was handed-out by preceptors of SRCM (California), Chari's Clan, headquartered in Chennai, India. (Nov, 2001)

It offers an insight in the world view of Chari, the current self-appointed Guru of SRCM (California) and President of the SRCM (Chennai) registered in California in 1997. SRCM (California) is a splinter that allegedly took-over the organizational structure and properties of SRCM (Shahjahanpur) that was founded and registered in India, in 1945 by Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur. Chari's SRCM (California) was registered in Californial, in 1997 and a court dispute began with the family of the founder and the Board of Directors of the SRCM (Shahjahanpur). The Board of Directors accepted the son of the Founder, Umesh Saxena as the legitimate successor of his father, Ram Chandra. That case will be decided and ruled on at the end of Sept, 2008 by the Supreme Court of India.

It is an important thing this that when we accept a Master, we accept Him completely. It is not that He is only a Master for spirituality, and we look to others for other things. I have had migraine from the age of 16. So, once Babuji asked me about this, and I told Him that I have had it for a long time. He took me to a Hakim (Muslim curer), who gave me some medicine. Now this medicine needed to be boiled in water, and when we did that it used to gut the whole place with an awful smell. Whenever my wife used to prepare the medicine in the kitchen, the smell used to spread throughout the house. My father used to come running and ask what is this? What are you doing here? And then he used to say that the guru is only for your spiritual needs & you have no business to be taking medicines from Him. But, I never stopped it. After a while, Babuji asked me if there was any improvement & I said, there was none. Then, He said Now it is in Gods hands. Perhaps God did take mercy on me later, that my migraine stopped on its own in a few years! 8:20 a.m. Nationality should be used for the right purpose. We are all different, yet we are one should be the attitude. Instead, we say There is no difference between us and hence we are one. This is wrong. It is strange as to how soon the mighty become powerless. The USA used to be terrified of the Soviet. Today, the US is lording over the world because there is no opposition. I expectI anticipate the US to break up. I mean, take Yugoslavia. When it can break up, when Slovenia, which is half the size of Kerla (a small state in India) can manage itselfand Croatia is even smaller than Slovenia, can manage itself, why not? Texas is a huge state. So is Alaska. It will all (He gestures with His hands as if a whole is getting split into so many fragments). For a democracy, there needs to be a balance of power; Whether it is a country or the world. In todays world, there is no balance of power. That is why the US is lording over the world. There is no opposition. It is no good for the world at all. (Someone begins to argue) Master says emphatically See, I am not talking about economics, politics, history or geography. I am talking about the fundamental principle of the need for balance. We are (ideally) talking about a world where everyone is happy because everyone has, and things are shared. We are not even thinking of such an aim. India is a happy country. Politics has not had any effect on the average person in India. If anything, for the average person, the election is a means of earning money. He will take Rs.50 from 3 parties, promising each one that he would vote for them. So, democracy does have a way of redistributing the wealth! In India, there is a saying Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram (Ram came & Ram went). Politicians come and go, and it has absolutely no effect on the common man. The politicians fight in the parliament, fight each other, and the people are untouched, and happy! Politicians come and go, but the situation has remained unchanged for the past few hundred years. It is a very amusing country. (Pause) When the Iraq war was fought, the US did not spend one penny! Saudi gave USD 9 billion. France gave $3 billion. So, all these stupid countries gave money, and they (USA) replenish all their weaponry, test all the new weapons at these peoples expense! (Pause) When you have interest, you will remember what you hear. Babuji used to ask I do not remember what you say myself, but how do you remember? But now, I find that I do not remember what I say myself! (To someone new who just walked in during his breakfast, wanting to spend some time with him) I am going to satsangh now. While looking at the blueprints for the upcoming meditation hall at another close-by city, Master asked a couple of financial questions. After some hesitation, someone said Master. Cannot say this in public. Master declared unequivocally that He wants absolute transparency in accounting. He said this forcefully enough to prevail well over the mild protests put forth. Then, one quipped, all right, Master. We will put it up on the notice board. Master said you are either in this extreme or in the other extreme. There has to be a balance. While talking about the size and dimensions of the meditation hall, Master was clear that the size should be such that it caters to the immediate needs and should not plan for large gatherings that happen occasionally. When someone asked him about the shape of the meditation hall needing to be rectangular in shape, Master agreed and said that the current idea is to be modular. It should be capable of being extended. What is the use of going in for a hexagonal shape! (A few days later, I observed that the shape of the meditation hall in Satkhol is Pentagonal! And Master touched upon the topic of how there will always be a restriction at Satkhol on the number of people at any time. In elaborating on the reason for this constraint, He said It is not a problem with food. I can feed 100,000 people. It is the water. Currently, we use up about Liters of water every day. We cannot afford to consume any more, for it will upset the availability of water supply.) Later, He pulled up a preceptor and said You walk away from sittings, you give 10 minute sittings, and you have started a girl at the age of 13 saying that she is very special. When he protested, Master said that the source of Ganga needs to be at some height for the water to reach so far! 12:30 p.m. On why a lady cannot be a Master Babuji said that a Master of that caliber gets orders from above, and their work includes that of destruction. A woman is not capable of such destruction. All this talk about equality between men and woman the more they talk about something, the less they will get it. Equality is different from equalization. There are high pressure and low pressure areas. In the process of equalization, the wind flows from here to there, and this process if what creates the climate. If the pressure were the same everywhere, there would be no climate. This is the way of nature: Inequality Equalization Inequality Equalization (alluding to a low pressure building, winds blowing from other high pressure areas, another low pressure building up, etc.) Today you see American woman trying to do everything that the male does. They join the navy seals. It is not a job for them. I might offend the woman here, but God did not create both as equals. Each have their own sphere of functioning. On wastage When someone offered Him a paper napkin (after He had eaten something, He refused and wiped His mouth with the towel on His shoulder. He said I do not use paper. I am a believer in not wasting. (Someone commented about the wastage in America). Master said that there is a tremendous amount of wastage there. He had heard from someone that 56% of the New York Times gets recycled, unopened & unsold, and yet they were making a profit. And when they recycle, they will write it so prominently, in bold as RECYCLED. In India, everything is recycled at least a 100 times. On Caution, in the USA When He was staying at one of the best hotels in Grand Canyon last year, the toilet seat was a bit raised & once you open the flap, it was written in red Caution. This water is not potable! Master said that He took a photograph of it, and gave it to somebody and asked him to send it to the president of the chain of hotels and ask Whom is this sign meant for? I mean, Are Americans so dumb that this has to be told to them? This is all because of the fear of lawsuits. (Somebody quipped about the incident when McDonalds was successfully sued for a million dollars when someone spilled hot coffee in her lap & sued that the coffee was too hot). Master said Yes, Yes. And they want the coffee piping hot, mind you! Now, there is also the case of smokers suing the companies because cigarette smoking harmed their health, When everyone knows this is a fact! In America, Sue and be damned! On manufacturing & Exports & the many products being imported from China Now, it is the thinking to manufacture what they can do well, and earn through exports. And import things that they cannot manufacture well. It is better than manufacturing bad goods for themselves. (Someone asked Master to confirm that weeping is not good, spiritually speaking) Weeping is not bad, per se, but it should not become a habit. We usually weep when we are in pain or in misery. Such weeping is out of self-pity and is absolutely useless. We should not weep at our own weakness, and misery. But you will see people weeping when they are happy. It is due to a feeling of gratitude that wells up from within them, which brings tears to the eyes.

Before the morning satsangh, the door of the meditation hall was left open, and Master asked someone to close it. After this was done, an abhyasi walked in, leaving the door open again. This was closed, only for the same scene to happen yet again! Master said In the West, they have a habit to leave things as they were. If a door is open, they will leave the door open. If a door was closed, they will close the door behind them. They will leave things as they find it. This practice makes life very simple. There are many things we should learn from the West. It is the Indians who have the arrogance to leave things any which way. Some closes a doorSomeone opens a doorIt is a mess. (LaterAn abhyasi recalled a dream in which he saw Lalaji asBabuji as Love, and Chariji as Discipline). Master recalled Babujis directive in Paris (1982) to Him to bring discipline into the mission. But there are several people still in the mission who are undisciplined. So saying, He turned and looked at a girl who was sitting right next to Him (As if He was saying this to her). And almost immediately, she began to wipe off some tears from the corner of her eyes. And Master, looking at this, said: Now, Dont you start. I do not understand woman at all. Say the slightest of things harshly, and they begin to create a scene. It appears that I should only talk about superficial things like the food, the weather, etc. to them. Anything stronger than that, they cannot take it. I do not know what Mami (referring to His late wife) will think about all this. Maybe she will pull me up for what I am saying now, once I get to the brighter world. I do not know whether I am going there or not, but she is there. Babuji is saying You are doing good work. So continue doing it. You have built Satkhol. Go on, and build more places like this Master said that, in 2005, we would have a new ashram in Uttar Kashi, which is the place where the Sapta Rishis(the Seven Sages governing the Universe) came down to the Earth to meditate. What is the use of this life? It seems pointless M: It is like asking what is the use of sleeping? Perhaps in a larger life, life and death are like waking and sleeping. The day can be compared to life. I am not saying it is. Only a comparison A: (Says something again about how life remains pointless) M: But why do you feel so bad about it? A: But there is nothing so good about it either M: Good and bad: These are things that you do not feel when you are in balance. Suppose this tree is there, and it thinks that it cannot walk! If it has a mind, it would feel bad? A: Yes, MasterIt would feel bad. M: Suppose that mind is regulated? Happiness and sorrow, good and bad, bliss and misery, these are the effects of an unregulated mind. Instead of the pendulum swinging between the extremes, try to bring it a rest, and then see the effect. (Pause) It is said that the cells in the body changes every 28 minutes or so! But we feel the same always. I am always the same to myself. This fixity in our feeling is false. But if that fixity is not there, I cannot exist as myself. Take a clock that has all these moving gears. There is a large gear that moves, and say, a small gear that goes around it 16 times for each rotation of the larger gear. This is also rotating, that is also rotating. Is it the same? No. Is it separated? No. It is like, we feel fixed since we are on Earth. We do not feel the motion. When we move, it is relative to Earth, which is fixed. And the moon moves by itself, but is fixed relative to the Earth. And similarly the Earth moves around the Sun and the solar system around the galaxy. This is called the universal dance. There is harmony between everything. Now, if the harmony is disturbed in one place, it will result in destruction. Every movement has to be connected to something fixed. Like a wheel moves but is connected to an axle, which is fixed. I have told once that if you need to destroy a structure, find the weakest point and create a small explosion. That is enough. It is not necessary to use a huge force. To destroy a wheel, cut the axle and there is no wheel! If you start chopping away at the rim At the time of Mahapralaya, all that would be required is to create an imbalance. One transmission to create the imbalance, and that is it! (Pause) Once a boy asked me What do you do in Meditation? And I said Nothing! The boy asked But how can you do nothing? I told him Try it. It is very difficult! In meditation, we successfully do nothing. The other way to do nothing is like a decrepit fellow who is lying in his bed, doing nothing. That is to do nothing unsuccessfully. This is to successfully do nothing. I am in this dress right now (He just had a sleeveless banian and a towel over His shoulders). It is 20 degrees Celsius now but I do not feel cold. For here, this is right. This is because there is balance inside me. In Madras, 30 degrees Celsius would be normal, and 20 degrees would be cold. Bliss is perfect balance between happiness and unhappiness, good and bad. There is a story in the Upanishad about Samsara (Sanskrit word for The journey of life). A man is falling, when he grabs a tree root and holds on. He looks down and it is a pit full of poisonous snakes. He looks up and sees a rat gnawing away at the root he is holding on to. At this time, a bee drops a drop of honey onto his lips. He tastes that and feels happy, forgetting for the moment, both the rat and the poisonous snakes beneath. Samsara is depicted thus, in the Upanishads There are people who stay in a pit of very poisonous snakes for a world record 36 hours, 100 hours, etc. Nothing happens. When there is balance within, they will not do anything. There is another story about Surrender in the Upanishads. A man is falling in the dark and he holds on to something, and he is hanging there. Not being able to see in the dark as to how deep it is to the ground, he continues to hold on, in spite of the immense pain in his hands. And when morning comes, he sees that he is only two centimeters from the ground! Therein comes the necessity for surrender and faith, and letting go. It could be that snake pit from the other story but that is where faith and surrender comes in. An abhaysi there recollected a talk given by Master in Pithoragarh in 1989. The contents of that talk is written here, as it gave a lot of insight on how to be, in His presence: There are two things that we should be able to perceive Transmission and Radiation. Transmission is a willed activity by the Master, whereas radiation is an involuntary process that happens due to His elevated spiritual state. When there is stillness in the body and stillness in the mind, we will be able to perceive these. This stillness should also be associated with awareness/consciousness of the presence of the Master. And when we are able to be like that, the Master also feels that the person is ready to receive and is able to give. This consciousness of the Master is very essential. Even the Master has had a chowkidhar (watchman for His home) for the last 8 years in His home, but he is not going to get anything, because the consciousness is not there. Whereas a person coming from Timbuktu or Africa for one month undergoes total transformation.

Babuji has said that if we are able to remember Him for 7 days continuously, then it cannot be stopped. The process will continue ever after. Here, the ever after is also after death. A: But how to make those 7 days? M: You do not remember because you do not make it yours. We do not say My Master, My Mission, My method. We say I am part of this mission. See? Whereas, we say this is my car. You should make the mission yours, the work yours. There is no ownership at all in India. People do not think of things to be theirs. You travel in a train, soil the toilet and leave it like that because you do not feel it to be yours. It is okay is the attitude. The next guy will clean it. How do we care attitude is what prevails. Some foreigner who visited Bharath (Another name for India) said that he was not able to find one Bharathi. It was all Marwadi, Gujarathi, etc. (pause) Do you know that about 36% of the men in Europe now are not capable of having children? Initially, people in Europe did not want to have children, because of the responsibilities involved. And nature seems to co-operate. It says you do not want to have children. Okay. Now you are not able to have children. (pause) The real idea is to have, without pocessing. You can pocess only very small things. Say, a diamond It is very small. How rich can a rich man get? Whereas, take the Himalayas. Everyone can have it and enjoy it. If you want something that everyone wants, you cannot get it. On how He found the Himalayan ashram: If you let the divine do the work, then, everything will happen. Either the divine can work or the ego can work. Both cannot co-exist. In the morning, Master was dressed in a very simple but strikingly simple shirt, with a beautiful blue, pullover. Someone commented that His coat was good. Someone else said the same thing, to which Master quipped People say Your coat is good. Your jacket is good. Nobody appreciates what is inside.

And I think in those days, when I was a humble executive in TTK, he would probably do 50 times my salary a driver! So, I asked my uncle Whether you will ask your driver to come and sit in your room? Here you have to brush against beggars, against cheats, against crooks, because you are out here for nothing more than money. And, that is what I am saying, you just keep moving to a bigger house, financing your mortgage, and finally after 20 years, you want to come back and you find that you have 50 K in the bank, some 75 K in pension funds, which you will get when you are 66, and nothing else. And I wonder what the hell you have been doing with the money you earned? Paying the banks! Typical American life. And to delude themselves with the feeling that they are having fun, gallon flagons of ice cream, giant jumbo bottles of Pepsi, and frozen pizza which you can warm in whatever-you-call-it! Now, we even get French fries! Shiva Shiva. At least, if they wisely save some money and come back, it is a good thing. Is it not? But they do not even do that.

It is an important thing this that when we accept a Master, we accept Him completely. It is not that He is only a Master for spirituality, and we look to others for other things. I have had migraine from the age of 16. So, once Babuji asked me about this, and I told Him that I have had it for a long time. He took me to a Hakim (Muslim curer), who gave me some medicine. Now this medicine needed to be boiled in water, and when we did that it used to gut the whole place with an awful smell. Whenever my wife used to prepare the medicine in the kitchen, the smell used to spread throughout the house. My father used to come running and ask what is this? What are you doing here? And then he used to say that the guru is only for your spiritual needs & you have no business to be taking medicines from Him. But, I never stopped it. After a while, Babuji asked me if there was any improvement & I said, there was none. Then, He said Now it is in Gods hands. Perhaps God did take mercy on me later, that my migraine stopped on its own in a few years! 8:20 a.m. Nationality should be used for the right purpose. We are all different, yet we are one should be the attitude. Instead, we say There is no difference between us and hence we are one. This is wrong. It is strange as to how soon the mighty become powerless. The USA used to be terrified of the Soviet. Today, the US is lording over the world because there is no opposition. I expectI anticipate the US to break up. I mean, take Yugoslavia. When it can break up, when Slovenia, which is half the size of Kerla (a small state in India) can manage itselfand Croatia is even smaller than Slovenia, can manage itself, why not? Texas is a huge state. So is Alaska. It will all (He gestures with His hands as if a whole is getting split into so many fragments). For a democracy, there needs to be a balance of power; Whether it is a country or the world. In todays world, there is no balance of power. That is why the US is lording over the world. There is no opposition. It is no good for the world at all. (Someone begins to argue) Master says emphatically See, I am not talking about economics, politics, history or geography. I am talking about the fundamental principle of the need for balance. We are (ideally) talking about a world where everyone is happy because everyone has, and things are shared. We are not even thinking of such an aim. India is a happy country. Politics has not had any effect on the average person in India. If anything, for the average person, the election is a means of earning money. He will take Rs.50 from 3 parties, promising each one that he would vote for them. So, democracy does have a way of redistributing the wealth! In India, there is a saying Aaya Ram, Gaya Ram (Ram came & Ram went). Politicians come and go, and it has absolutely no effect on the common man. The politicians fight in the parliament, fight each other, and the people are untouched, and happy! Politicians come and go, but the situation has remained unchanged for the past few hundred years. It is a very amusing country. (Pause) When the Iraq war was fought, the US did not spend one penny! Saudi gave USD 9 billion. France gave $3 billion. So, all these stupid countries gave money, and they (USA) replenish all their weaponry, test all the new weapons at these peoples expense! One transmission to create the imbalance, and that is it! (Pause) Once a boy asked me What do you do in Meditation? And I said Nothing! The boy asked But how can you do nothing? I told him Try it. It is very difficult! In meditation, we successfully do nothing. The other way to do nothing is like a decrepit fellow who is lying in his bed, doing nothing. That is to do nothing unsuccessfully. This is to successfully do nothing. I am in this dress right now (He just had a sleeveless banian and a towel over His shoulders). It is 20 degrees Celsius now but I do not feel cold. For here, this is right. This is because there is balance inside me. In Madras, 30 degrees Celsius would be normal, and 20 degrees would be cold. Bliss is perfect balance between happiness and unhappiness, good and bad. There is a story in the Upanishad about Samsara (Sanskrit word for The journey of life). A man is falling, when he grabs a tree root and holds on. He looks down and it is a pit full of poisonous snakes. He looks up and sees a rat gnawing away at the root he is holding on to. At this time, a bee drops a drop of honey onto his lips. He tastes that and feels happy, forgetting for the moment, both the rat and the poisonous snakes beneath. Samsara is depicted thus, in the Upanishads There are people who stay in a pit of very poisonous snakes for a world record 36 hours, 100 hours, etc. Nothing happens. When there is balance within, they will not do anything. There is another story about Surrender in the Upanishads. A man is falling in the dark and he holds on to something, and he is hanging there. Not being able to see in the dark as to how deep it is to the ground, he continues to hold on, in spite of the immense pain in his hands. And when morning comes, he sees that he is only two centimeters from the ground! Therein comes the necessity for surrender and faith, and letting go. It could be that snake pit from the other story but that is where faith and surrender comes in. An abhaysi there recollected a talk given by Master in Pithoragarh in 1989. The contents of that talk is written here, as it gave a lot of insight on how to be, in His presence: There are two things that we should be able to perceive Transmission and Radiation. Transmission is a willed activity by the Master, whereas radiation is an involuntary process that happens due to His elevated spiritual state. When there is stillness in the body and stillness in the mind, we will be able to perceive these. This stillness should also be associated with awareness/consciousness of the presence of the Master. And when we are able to be like that, the Master also feels that the person is ready to receive and is able to give. This consciousness of the Master is very essential. Even the Master has had a chowkidhar (watchman for His home) for the last 8 years in His home, but he is not going to get anything, because the consciousness is not there. Whereas a person coming from Timbuktu or Africa for one month undergoes total transformation.

Babuji has said that if we are able to remember Him for 7 days continuously, then it cannot be stopped. The process will continue ever after. Here, the ever after is also after death. A: But how to make those 7 days? M: You do not remember because you do not make it yours. We do not say My Master, My Mission, My method. We say I am part of this mission. See? Whereas, we say this is my car. You should make the mission yours, the work yours. There is no ownership at all in India. People do not think of things to be theirs. You travel in a train, soil the toilet and leave it like that because you do not feel it to be yours. It is okay is the attitude. The next guy will clean it. How do we care attitude is what prevails. Some foreigner who visited Bharath (Another name for India) said that he was not able to find one Bharathi. It was all Marwadi, Gujarathi, etc. (pause) Do you know that about 36% of the men in Europe now are not capable of having children? Initially, people in Europe did not want to have children, because of the responsibilities involved. And nature seems to co-operate. It says you do not want to have children. Okay. Now you are not able to have children. (pause) The real idea is to have, without pocessing. You can pocess only very small things. Say, a diamond It is very small. How rich can a rich man get? Whereas, take the Himalayas. Everyone can have it and enjoy it. If you want something that everyone wants, you cannot get it. On how He found the Himalayan ashram: If you let the divine do the work, then, everything will happen. Either the divine can work or the ego can work. Both cannot co-exist. In the morning, Master was dressed in a very simple but strikingly simple shirt, with a beautiful blue, pullover. Someone commented that His coat was good. Someone else said the same thing, to which Master quipped People say Your coat is good. Your jacket is good. Nobody appreciates what is inside.

"We are a very humble, usually invisible, virtually unknown for the simple reason that we are asking no dues for membership (...)." Speech by Chari July 23, 2008 in Lucknow, in response to the speech by the spokesman of the UN.
The minimum amount of the 2007-8 French contribution amounts to 75 €. Those responsible for SRCM France are deploying a wealth of ingenuity to ensure that all abhyasis pay. In 2007, 1173 members have paid, but it would still remain that 25% abhyasis are non-contributors.
At the Annual General Meeting of the SRCM France, held at Vrads Castle, (Denmark), Chari wanted to double the membership fee for 2009 so as to eliminate the "deficit" (sic). The 2007 revenues amounted to € 260 per participant and financial investments to more than 750 €, and all equity reached € 1920 per participant…
The SRCM France also participated in the purchase of the ashram of Milan for € 115 000 or € 98 per participant, and it offered a bell of 250 kg to CREST, which required 3 days for installation.
At the SRCM, the fee is not mandatory, but it is very much sought after. One can therefore be abhyasi without paying, but on the other hand one can not be a member of the association without pay, lest one displeases Chari …
From there to say that SRCM is very humble, invisible and unknown because of lack of contributions, I have difficulty to understand the reasoning… unless it is all too obvious: the money, always money
It is true that with nearly 900 000 € investments (6 million french francs), SRCM France is poor… hence the doubling of the contribution fees.

I saw this comment by Peter on Elodie's blog. I am just "borrowing" it, as it is appropriate and exposes directly the "lack of spirituality" mentionned often in this blog, by the Master of Sahaj Marg and others of the Management Team of SRCM (California), what we call Chari's Clan...

He (Chari) seems to be acting more as an "agent provocateur", with anything (homosexuality) and anyone (bloggers) who question his tactics and his words and his action. He seems to be very divisive and not generally "humble" nor very SPIRITUAL, from the "outside looking in", that is! ;-))
What are those "main quotes" attributed to Christ by Christians again...Oh yeah! "TURN THE OTHER CHEEK"!!! and... LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR!!! They (Chari and his team) seem to very "opportunistic" in their use of quotes from other religions and their FOUNDERS, which they just recently disrespectfully called "corrupt"(see under sub- heading "other religions") and "promoting war", he even accuses Catholics of "lying in the confessional".
NOT VERY SPIRITUAL this Sahaj Marg (trade marked) and the current Master/Guru of SRCM (California) !
Oh Yes! That is "MASTER and PRESIDENT OF SRCM (California) FOR LIFE"...Is that Democracy according to SRCM (Calfifornia)? Does the UNDPI not require a DEMOCRATIC organization, not a dictatorship of its members? Will SRCM voluntarily withdraw its membership to UNDPI out of "honor" as the Jehova's Witnesses have done, or become "democratic"?

Respected Mr. Chandran, we are very grateful to you for your presence in this spiritual assembly, which in the terms of my Guruji, Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, should always have an atmosphere pervasive with spiritual values. When a couple of years ago, we were permitted entry into the awesome institution known as the United Nations, I must confess that I was a little nervous of how this, you know, the marriage of a very rich man with a very poor girl will survive. I discovered that throughout the history of romance, poor girls, so long as they were pretty, were able to marry very rich people and make happy homes. The opposite was never the case.
We are a very humble, generally invisible, mostly unknown organisation, for the single reason that we do not charge any fees for membership, and most of our ashrams have free accommodation and food, that being my Master’s specific charge, that in a country where even food is not available to most people, we should never charge for food. Of course, we do not have the resources that we would like to have to feed all the poor in India. Nor can I say that our abhyasis fall under the category of poor. But there are suffering people who cannot afford… For instance, I would like to say that in 1964 when I joined the Mission, I had gone to Shahjahanpur and my Master was expecting a busload of abhyasis from Sitapur, not very far from Shahjahanpur. And the bus fare was I think two rupees two annas, or something like that. And he said, “Poor people, they cannot afford this bus fare. So we should not charge them anything.” I said, “Babuji, people come from South India paying eighty rupees for train fare, and you are not expressing any sympathy for them.” [Chuckles] He smiled and said, “There is nothing political or geographical in what I say. I am only saying, if people cannot afford even two rupees two annas, how can we charge anybody?” So our feeding is generally free of charge in our ashrams, accommodation is free of charge, irrespective of time limits. There is no time limit. That is the first thing we have tried to ensure at all our ashrams.
Number two—Mr. Chandran would have seen just now—nine weddings were performed, and most of them were inter-state, inter-communal. Because when people want to be married, I make it very clear that there is no question of dowry ever. Dowry has been the biggest evil in our society. It has made families beggarly in their final result. Three daughters to marry, and the old man had to spend all his life savings and live on charity from other relatives. This is a well-known phenomenon in India. But so far we have conducted almost two thousand marriages and I wish to assure Mr. Chandran, that there was no dowry, no expense—mere exchange of garlands in the old tradition, that love must join two hearts; not money, not race,
not culture, not creed, not at all religion.

See more of Chari's speech here and you decide if he is telling the "WHOLE TRUTH"! "People" in SRCM (California) do not all "want to be married"... in SRCM, marriages are arranged by Chari (some Indian men to western girls, and some Indian women to western men), and according to many reports, "race" is allegedly an issue in some marriages arranged by SRCM (California). Although he boasts (humbly ?) of 2,000 marriages (some arranged), there is no mention of the failure ratio of these arranged marriages. Do your own research, before accepting an arranged marriage by SRCM (California), or other such "cultural" rituals from medieval days promoted by SRCM (California) and Chari. Arranged marriages are certainly a "religion" influenced cultural practice.
I certainly question his statement on the "equality" of the genders at SRCM in light of Chari's statement that "women can't be Masters of SRCM (California)" because of their inability to "destroy". When questionned further, Chari said that the destruction a Master must perform is: "on a cosmic level"... Did you know that you are part of a "peaceful system" with a self-proclaimed Master who thinks his duty is to destroy on a "cosmic" level? Which part of the COSMOS did you or will you destroy, one may ask?

More Failed Arranged Marriages at SRCM (California)

I would also like to share with you how recently happened to the marriage of the daughter of a friend, as she told me: Chariji asked the girl if she wanted to marry an Indian, because they are better than the Europeans and he said she would have to live in India. She replied that Chariji knew better than her what she needed. The same evening, the arranger had submitted an Indian (man) whom she married a few days later. She told her mother that Chariji had decided what was good for her, without asking her anything (no input from the bride or the parents of the bride).

I have thought long before writing you. Already, I am not always in agreement with your comments and how to deal with Chari, the mission and abhyasis. But it is also true that you touch points and weaknesses that are difficult to hide.
Even if this does not go on with the specific authorization of the mission, today I do feel more concerned by these directives. Selfish approach, exaggerated... I certainly expect such comments from the abhyasis of the Mission and it is also why I prefer to remain anonymous.
A psychologist would say that to write to you is a way to relieve myself of my frustrations, which is not true. But I think today that I also have the right to inform those who find themselves in my same situation. Chariji married me (to a Indian man), and he continues to marry others (very) young European abhyasis (sometimes with Indian, and very rapidly ...). I read the last message of "cri cri" in which he raised the discontent / dissatisfaction of couples married by Chariji. It would be interesting if he could say more, would it not?
I just severed with a stage of my life, a long and dark period of adjustment and commitment to a Mission that seems less and less spiritual. I have been committed for so long to a routine, a way of seeing things, a milieu which are now finally closed… and which had become my world, my life…. Very young and romantic, I naively decided to make my life with a more mature man and an abhyasi. I had admiration him for his spiritual practice, and I found this way of life a chance that opened before me. Although, what I had not seen or understood was the unsuspected importance that our Master would take in his life and in our lives. For my ex-husband, Chariji was his reason for living and the development of his mission was the reason for him to show (Chari) his love. Instead of seeing a rich and strong relationship being established, it is instead the suffering and frustrations that have accumulated to explode years later with the bitter realizaton of the time wasted. Despite the time I left slip between my fingers I feel liberated today and proud to have been able to open my eyes in time. My life starts again and my future is not assured, what's more I am no longer a young girl. I could no longer continue to live a life influenced by the Mission and that prevented the development of our couple. I loved my husband, but how do I forgive his neglect of me on behalf of his spirituality, and his mission? At one point I was advised to write to Chariji, but he did not respond. My husband later met with him about our problems and he later received us, but his gaze and approach to the situation finished by distancing me permanently. …
Need of tenderness, attention, affection, normal conduct….
I wake up today from a long sleep, which certainly will leave traces in my life as a woman. The intimate relationship with my husband were reserved for breeding, my sense of guilt has always pursued me, and finally the one who regrets and suffered, c'est moi (it is I). Needless to say that my decision to leave my husband was badly perceived by the circle of abhyasis, so I wanted to not be judged mainly by those who watched my suffering. I was even advised by them to take a step back and stay with my husband and my practice to emphasize that my faith in Chariji has never faltered. But how does one ask a frustrated and depressed woman to concentrate on the prayers if it was precisely this practice that had been the reason for my husband to abandon me? I could not just continue as a frustrated woman seeking a spirituality that becomes tired with disappointment and frustration. I would like to see these young abhyasis who without any preparation, unite as husband and wife, and far too quickly, think well before committing themselves, as if their lives were already conditionned with a final choice.

"Master conducted 11 marriages on the same day as empowered by the Indian Government to conduct marriages and give marriage certificates. It’s an awesome moment believed to be witnessed. Marriages in our mission are very simple and very spiritualistic. An Indian Guy from Mumbai getting married to an Iranian girl, south Indian guy from Chennai with a north Indian girl from Kanpur so on and so forth. A real sense of unification of mind, body and soul, where no caste, no creed, no religious rituals intervene.
In the mission Master asks the guy and the girl to garland each other, then exchange rings, make each other taste a piece of sweat and at last Master asks the guy to hold girl’s hand and give the girls hand in his hand. He then congratulates the bride and groom. Simple marriages with no complexities. It was a great feeling watching all the couples getting married on the stage. 11 marriages in less then 30 minutes. Truly amazing and great. The couples are decided by master and with faith and obedience they respect Master’s decision. Some of them select each other and requests Master to get them married."

I was wondering since then that I feel so deeply madly in love with this person who happens to be my husband, who doesn’t value me at all, how can I subside this feeling and was looking and waiting for answers from my Master. With so much of difference in opinions with this man I was all worried and tensed that, is my asking for love and valuing me wrong???? To my surprise my Master gave the answers of all my questions and discussions in his small talk. He emphasized that all relations can only work on the basis of Love. He particularly talked about married life.

Couples are thus well prepared by Chari who plays at mixing ethnicities and social origins, about 4000 abhyasis have already accepted his decisions on faith and with obedience.

I am impressed by your analysis. I left after 10 years after feeling disgusted at the way SRCM functions in its current form. However, I still feel that the system itself has its merits,as I obtained great peace through this method. it is sad that it has degenerated into bigotry. Guilt, fear and temptation are regularly used. Abhyasis are told that they need to bring in new recruits to be 'good' abhyasis, if at all such a certificate was required in the first place.Those who dissent are labelled 'drops of poison'. Prospective new members are told that the system is 'free of charge', and that they are free to leave the system if they wish to. But behind closed doors, existing members are told that they must 'monitor' the recruits and ensure that they stay for 6 months, as it has been found empirically that if someone stays for 6 months, they will stay on for ever. The aim is to reach a 'critical mass' of 30 in every centre, so that the centre becomes self sustaining ( akin to a nuclear chain reaction?)
Prospective members must be informed that at some stage there will be an expectation to donate money, and participate in fund raising, and recruitment/proselytizing activities. Withholding this important information amounts to mis-selling.
The organisation that was created as the means to an end, has become an end in itself.
Ironically, in open houses the method is presented as 'meditation for human integration'. Perhaps what is meant by human integration is that all humans must become SRCM members.
If one reads the SRCM literature carefully, it is stated clearly that the real master has no name and no form. However, such books are now on the backburner.

SRCM(California) Targets Children (3yrs old)

After the ceremonies in Cleveland, Ohio, in the U.S. specifically aimed at children, and after Chariji's speech to students of the Lalaji Omega School, Alexis brings new examples in India and Singapore which remind us that every day, the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (California) focuses more on our children0 from an very early age.
The VBSE is proving to be a formidable instrument to circumvent the old adage that prohibits meditation before the age of 18 years. The indoctrination begins at the age of 3 years. It's scary. What hides behind this new hurried targeting of Chariji of our kids?
Wake up! At that age, our small toddlers are innocent, do not impose this burden inherited from the choice of so-called responsible adults.
VBSE Children's Program & Summer Camps
Echoes of India in July 2008 focuses on summer camps for children and youth. He cites no less than 8 examples: "Ashrams around the country were abuzz with activity during the holiday season."
In Bangalore it was 40 children aged 3 to 18, at Jaipur 40 children aged 3 to 17 years, in Hyderabad from 9 to 17 years, and in Kerala 52 children of whom only 12 were children of families of abhyasis, and so on.
What did they do? Examples: "The morning started with reciting of Mission's prayer", "The day commenced with introductions and was followed by Yoga", "The plays carried the message, 'Religion divides, Spirituality unites' and 'God is everywhere. The children had been preparing for this day since long at the children's centre every Sunday ", or even a workshop for teenagers:" "the need to manage one's anger, frustration and negative emotions". "Very exciting was the budget exercise where the teenagers were asked to plan a monthly budget of Rs 10000".
In Singapore, it is a Value Based Spiritual Education, (VBSE) chidren's program which is set up. Children are classified by age groups: Junior (4-9 years) and seniors (10-19 years). "(…) A play which highlights the value of striving to achieve perfection" (Sing Voice - April 2008).

During his trip to Europe (2008), Chari was concerned with not seeing some preceptors. "(...) And in almost all cases, people have insinuated that these practitioners had abandoned the practice of Sahaj Marg (...) Chari has therefore taken the opportunity to warn the current preceptors of their responsibilities, this is a warning as well for other candidates for the post.
Clearly, at this moment, it is not a good time to be a preceptor…
The story does not end there. And this time it's Ajay Kumar Bhatter (Successor Guru in-waiting) who takes over from Chari (excerpts from a circular to French preceptors, dated June 17, 2008):
"After so many years and many visits from the Master, the number of abhyasis is disappointing in Europe."
He asked that each European preceptor send him a monthly report showing the number of introductions to Sahaj Marg made, the number of sittings given to individuals, the number of satsanghs ( group meditation) conducted, and the number who participate in the satsanghs. In addition, a photo of the preceptor must accompany the report, so that Ajay may learn more about them (recognize them).
These reports existed before, but Ajay is reviving them seriously! If preceptors do the reports, all will be well. Otherwise, if they don't, watch out! …
It's not over! He adds:
"Please go to the centres to speak to preceptors on the following points:
-- The preceptors should see what change is needed in their attitude and be more open.
-- Invite friends and relatives regularly so as to inform them about Sahaj Marg.
-- In the major centres like Paris, all preceptors need not be present for satsangh on Sunday, there should be at least 2 or 3. All others should move around and meet the abhyasis in other centres with their relatives and friends. They should talk about Sahaj Marg as often as possible and introduce people.
-- When people have taken a step toward you, you can introduce them more easily. They do not need to read books or answer questionnaires. The only restrictions being alcohol, drug addiction, psychological problems or anti-depressive medication. (Don's comment: Does this include the psychological megalomaniacal problem of "addiction to power")
-- We have nothing to lose by a sitting; the person introduced receives a benefit, the preceptor as well.
-- Invite again people who have been introduced before, and who have left the Mission. Charge the person who had brought them the first time to contact them and have them meet with a preceptor.
-- If people came and received the benefit of Sahaj Marg for a few weeks, why are they gone? Try to find out and discuss with them, and with the person who had brought them to Sahaj Marg.
-- When you introduce people to Sahaj Marg, give them practice and explain it to them, but without putting too much emphasis. They should be encouraged from the outset to participate in Sunday satsangh. (Don's Comment: ... before the three sittings as introduction??)
-- Have regular meetings with the newly introduced abhyasis, and in a friendly manner explain the practice and the method.
-- We must be aware that, perhaps, only a few people will remain introduced and will follow the practice. "

What's the next "military" strategy, in the Pyramid "sales" scam if SRCM (California), read the obituaries in the newspapers and see if there are any deaths, births, health problems, lottery winnings, etc...?? And, then, like a bunch of vultures after the rotting of the Material, swoop down with your army of "Natural living-deads" of "preceptors" and the abhyasis they manipulate, as is mentionned above?
Do the abhyasis not see the danger in accepting and/or condoning and being supportive of this manipulation and "pressure sales" at a "vulnerable" time in one's friends' and families's lives. What is now being used or suggested by SRCM management team is the "worst in sales" that many of us have left behind for a 'higher morality" that says: "one leaves one's friends in PEACE and LOVE", and does not use "sales gimmicks", that "destroys LOVE", as admitted by Chari, in other people's countries if one wants to be "welcomed" as SPIRITUAL ... We already have a "higher" spirituality than that HERE, inside of the ONE!!
We would call these commandos, the "Judas goats" of our culture and the sellers of other's demonstrated flaws as "SPIRITUALITY" when it is in REALITY closer to "SPIRITUALISM" and to RELIGION and not a very "loving" and/or "forgiving" one such as Christianity at least attempts to be.
Immorality and lack of ethics will, and does also hide inside a religious cover based on "no philosophy", as Chari admits, and the management teams now also thinks. They think that they will somehow get themselves out of the lures of the Material, and the traps of unethical and immoral behaviour, that the MIND can sometime get into. That is if the religion is not checked by some true spiritual "system" such as an un-modified, eightfold, "RAJA YOGA", or other such self-empowering techniques that still retain a "logic" to specifically safeguard itself agains't these systemic excesses and flaws that grow inside some aspects of all RELIGIONS... The aspects I infer here are those that demand "OBEDIENCE" rather than "LOGIC", before DECIDING for ONE-self what is MORAL or ETHICAL at that particular time.
At least LOVE is for ANOTHER , and not for the narcissistic ONE-SELF!
What the WORLD needs is more LOVE, not less...

What is now being used or suggested by SRCM management team is the "worst in sales" that many of us have left behind for a 'higher morality" that says: "one leaves one's friends in PEACE and LOVE", and does not use "sales gimmicks", that "destroys LOVE", as admitted by Chari, in other people's countries if one wants to be "welcomed" as SPIRITUAL ... We already have a "higher" spirituality than that HERE, inside of the ONE!!
We would call these commandos, the "Judas goats" of our culture and the sellers of other's demonstrated flaws as "SPIRITUALITY" when it is in REALITY closer to "SPIRITUALISM" and to RELIGION and not a very "loving" and/or "forgiving" one such as Christianity at least attempts to be.
Immorality and lack of ethics will, and does also hide inside a religious cover based on "no philosophy", as Chari admits, and the management teams now also thinks. They think that they will somehow get themselves out of the lures of the Material, and the traps of unethical and immoral behaviour, that the MIND can sometime get into. That is if the religion is not checked by some true spiritual "system" such as an un-modified, eightfold, "RAJA YOGA", or other such self-empowering techniques that still retain a "logic" to specifically safeguard itself agains't these systemic excesses and flaws that grow inside some aspects of all RELIGIONS... The aspects I infer here are those that demand "OBEDIENCE" rather than "LOGIC", before DECIDING for ONE-self what is MORAL or ETHICAL at that particular time.
At least LOVE is for ANOTHER , and not for the narcissistic ONE-SELF!
What the WORLD needs is more LOVE, not less...

I would urge parents to become aware of the dangers in the "religious boarding school" model, where the authority of the teacher, who needs to be obeyed for the sake of discipline in the classroom, is compounded with the "love the teacher (guru)" of religion. This imbalance of power disempowers the children makes them potential victims of all predators, including the pedophiles who are admittedly attracted to such situations and schools where such "imbalances of power" exist.
When and if there is victimization, as in the "Catholic Religious Boarding Schools", the victims are not believed until the numbers make it too difficult to "brush off", and the victims are re-victimized, this time in PUBLIC by the media and the courts ... the love and trust demanded by Chari (above) is the same "love and trust" that convinced the "Catholic" parents to place their children in the care of the un-screened and un-trained "BROTHERS AND SISTERS", many (not all) of whom turned out to be pedophiles who came from Europe or "far away". We now know that pedophiles target the parents and specially the mother and make themselves "loved and trusted" by them first before targeting the children with their physical and sexual deviancy. To love and trust "strangers" because of their religious titles or social position is not "NATURAL".
In the Catholic "religious boarding schools", we were told that "our families were not our families anymore" and that we were "married" to "Holy Mother the Church". The deviant priests, who could refuse to forgive the sins of his victims, and hence not give them absolution, thus had the power of "eternal damnation" or "eternal salvation" over the children. That and the practice of frightening the children with stories of "hell" with its fire and "demons", including Satan, is now called: "intellectual terrorism".
Of course, we now know that the power imbalance in the "catholic religious boarding schools" attracted many pedophiles (from Europe) and culminated in many charges of assault (physicial, emotional, sexual). The effect of this "systemic abuse" is still being felt by the victims and their families to this day. The financial settlements are in the "millions" and threatened to bankrupt some dioceses and even the Vatican. The Vatican has now shirked it's moral responsibility and has handed over full financial operational responsibility (including the court settlements for the "abuses") to the "dioceses", and one can't name the Vatican in such abuse cases anymore.
On WIKI, editors with user id, "Reneeholle" and "Marathi Mulga" and others (members of SRCM (California) refuse to put the Caution by the Founder of Sahaj Marg, Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur (Babuji) that is in their (SRCM) PR material and in many of their books, that states:

WHY THE REFUSAL to put in the CAUTION by the FOUNDER in an encyclopedia article? Why is that refusal supported by some WIKI "admins"?

Value Based Spiritual Education read the cute little stories in lessons 1- and 2 and read the section on ALL religions in Lesson 10. Notice the "justifying" of flawed philosophy, the "religious intolerance" and false accusations towards other religions... In light of the history of SRCM and Sahaj Marg, the accusation of other RELIGIONS rings hollow and sounds more like "growing the business" by bad-mouthing other "businesses" rather than being "positive".

Wise Court Decision on Sahaja Yoga Belgium!
Belgium has 6 official languages.
Their government-operated, Centre d'Iformation et d'Avis sur les Oganisations Sectaires Nuisibles (CIAOSN), is a great example of the logic coming out of the Western Europe Administrative and Legal systems.

The CIAOSN has a library that carries one or two of the books of the societies on their radar that they investigate as requests come in from the public. They then place the "report" on these organizations on-line for the public to access when needed.
The latest report on Sahaja Yoga Belgium, requested by the city of Gand, was challenged in court by Sahaja Yoga Belgium, and the courts ruled as shown here:

I just read the report by CIAOSN and the court ruling. I am fluent in both languages. The report stands as is with the addendum. (see above).
My take (POV-Point of View) is that the designation of "harmful sect" ("Secte nuisible" in French) does not necessarily apply in all circumstances as some meditators will come for the
atmosphere or curiosity and Sahaja Yoga or other "sectes" will not necessarily be harmful to them. In other words, what is harmful or deemed harmful to one is not necessarily harmful to others. Some other meditators will get more heavily involved in the organization with possibly a different degree of "harmful" being experienced by them. So the courts has ruled that the addendum stating that "the advice (notice) does not mean that Sahaja Yoga is to be considered a harmful sect" is added at the end of the report even though the content of the report is not altered and is not deemed "illegal" or slanderous.
The brand of "cult" or "harmful secte" seems to be what the Belgian court does not want, even by implication. In other words, an article or a report can describe the activities of an organization, without BRANDING (name calling), as the brand has different meaning for different people and cultures.

Two Newspaper reports of attacks on Babuji Ashram

It seems that although I was under the impression that there was only one attack on the Ashram of Babuji's family, according to Navneet, there were two incidences of attacks on the Babuji Memorial Ashram by a mob of hundreds of individuals, one in 2003, and one in 2006.. The Ashram is the headquarters of SRCM (Shahjahanpur) in India, one in 2003, and one in 2006.
