The Effects of Prejudice and Self-Judgement on our Spiritual Life
January 1, 2013, Chennai, India
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We have been wishing everybody – saying, “Happy New Year.” That is a
convention which has been going on for years. Of course we want a happy
new year. Happiness has been the goal of human beings without
understanding what happiness really means. Many years ago, I saw a movie
called The Sound of Music, and a young lady in that movie tells us what
makes her happy – so many things. “These are some of my favourite
things” – that wonderful song – which clearly indicates that most human
beings believe that their happiness is tied to external objects. “If I
get a new dress I will be happy,” “If I get a job I will be happy,” and
so on and so forth.
Chari watches and believes a lot of "fiction" and fantasy movies (Dan Brown, Isaac Asimov, etc...) and now, "the Sound of Music". He even buys them (with donated money ... thus Sahaj Marg is supporting the pleasure-addicting Hollywood "fiction" industry, and he even puts them in the CREST libraries. He saw this Hollywood movie and another one, "Demons and Angels" (and Da Vinci Code) written by fiction (i.e. not REALITY) writer Dan Brown (see below) ... Did he watch the film to be "happy" or to "evolve"? Is that evolution brought about by a "fantasy" from Guru Dan Brown?? I guess if the movie is "beautiful" (emotional??) and if Chari believes it to be REAL, then it must be TRUE!! OK!! Another truth from the "Brighter World" ... or the Central Region!! There's a new one (sucker) born every minute!!
PS... Dan Brown is a FICTION writer!!! FICTION is "not REAL!! What's next: The Bible according to "Hollywood"??
I said that we don’t understand what we are really saying because
happiness is not the real goal of human life. The goal of human life is
evolution – evolution through this life into a higher life, always. That
is law, progress. How SPIRITUALIST and MATERIALIST! .... The goal of life or "the LAW" is not progress. Nature does not care about the progress of MAN!! Progress does not mean "better" or "improvement". Is SPIRITUALITY not about BEING ?... not "becoming"? ... not DOING!! If you are in school you go up level by level, level
by level; you graduate; you go to college. You move up as your knowledge
improves, your understanding improves, until you finally evolve out of
the educational life, where most people think their education ends. (Education is about KNOWLEDGE, and it is cumulative. Some spiritualists even believe and teach that Spirituality like "knowledge" ENDS, and that there is a goal to reach, a diploma to receive at "THE END"... but there is no END !!)
Fortunately, for the few individuals who continue to educate themselves
in a very real sense through the experiences that they garner in life,
education is then understood to be a continuous process, ending only
with our transition into the next life. (There is NO END, and psst ... don't tell anyone but there's "no beginning" either !!)
So we must all strive towards an understanding, true understanding,
of what evolution means. (as you strive by watching movies?? Fiction?? Pleasure in the name of duty (evolution)... the hypocrisy!! ) We can evolve only when we use this life, what
Babuji calls ‘incarnation’, this incarnation, as a rightful gift (Life is not a "rightful gift", later Chari says: "we deserve"... he makes it up as he goes along... all inventions, all a MYTH!!) granted
to us by our past evolution, where we have evolved up to the stage
where we deserve a human life for our further evolution. This human life
is not to be wasted in futile efforts like pleasure-seeking, happiness
pursuit, even health pursuit, because this incarnation comes as a
programmed event in our evolutionary life through which we have
necessarily to pass. We have no choice. (Now we are "programmed"? But Chari can waste his time watching a Hollywood fiction, a pleasure-giving movie by the "Great Satan" of Hollywood (The Entertainment Industry), which attacks yet another religion (Vatican). And then, he moralizes at others?? )
The messages that we receive every day from Babuji Maharaj emphasise
that we have no choice. We have to go through it, suffering whatever
happens to us, even to the extent of understanding that happiness is a
suffering. (Yes Chari will now want to watch other "fiction" movies, such as "Isaac Asimov's FOUNDATION series) Because today’s happiness brings us sorrow tomorrow. Today’s
sorrow brings us happiness tomorrow. Everything changes into its
[opposite] as we move through this incarnation. Nothing is fixed. What
is fixed is the real experience of life that we treasure in our heart –
love. (Some, specially Indian Gurus of the NEW RELIGIONS, hide materialism and spiritualism behind a RELIGIOUS facade: I heard this quote on the international news by a group protecting victims of "honour killing" in India, so it must be TRUE if we use Chari's standards: "India has become a nation of "love killers".)
Even this morning I received a message from my beloved (anonymous French Lady Medium) Master, where
he gives advice against prejudice, which means prejudging, which we have
no right to do. No human being has a right to judge another human
being. Even in the English language it is said, “Judge not that ye be
not judged.” ( Chari is making it up as he goes along. SPIRITUALISTS LIE and invent "facts" as messages from the "spirit of the dead"!! That quotation above is from the Judaeo-Christian Bible, not from the "English language" ... It (the Bible) was "translated" to English from Aramaic, Greek (Septuagint) and Latin (Vulgate).
Don't judge others Chari!! Not Bill Gates, not the Pope, and not homosexuals!! Stop moralizing at others. Stop pointing the finger at others ... you simply reveal yourself!! ) There is this great warning to us: If you judge, you will
be judged. Of course we understand the common meaning that if I judge
you, you will judge me or God will judge me. But I have pondered over
this through the years and I have come to the conclusion that when I
judge myself, I have condemned myself to my own judgement. This is what
makes us feel guilty in a higher sense, sinful, which brings us
desperation, sorrow, the futility of what we think to be a wasted life.
All this is a result of our own self-judgement. (But you claim that Sahaj Marg has "no philosophy"... then you think with what, your navel or your BRAIN??) Let others also think freely and evolve according to Nature's plan, not yours. And how egotistical to insist they Obey YOU!! Your Sahaj Marg(tm) creates Zombies, clones, not HUMANS!! You destroy families. It's not what Babuji wanted: a herd of obedient "sheep")
I would suggest that judging others is a very common thing but
judging your own self, which we do quite unconsciously… because when I
am afraid of something, when I am afraid of my examination, I am judging
myself and my preparedness to face that examination. I know that I have
not prepared myself, which is, I am judging myself. Then if my result
comes out against me after the exams are over, I should not feel
disappointed because I have known already in my own judgement, conscious
or unconscious, that I have not prepared myself for what I have to do.
Therefore, I must accept failure with the cheerfulness and joy with
which I would have accepted success. When we are afraid of an interview,
we know we are not ready.
(And why did you not accept that the Board of Directors of the SRCM of Babuji in 1982, did not want you to be the PRESIDENT of SRCM? They accepted the Nomination Letter of Umesh, signed by Babuji. Umesh is Babuji's son and successor of SRCM (Shahjahanpur-1945). Instead you re-registered the society as SRCM in San Luis Obispo, California, in 1997). Are you afraid of failure?? And now you hide the money received as Charity, including the real estate in a Foundation (SMSF) ... making the SRCM a "shell" society.
Why don't you accept YOUR failure with "CHEERFULNESS"??)
So, fear of external things is something else, but the fear that we
feel against events – whatever we have to do (we have to do), is nothing
but prejudging my own self. People don’t understand that prejudice can
be against one’s own self. Prejudice is not only against others,
prejudging others (“He is a fool,” “She is an ass,” and so on and so
forth), but we are all the time judging ourselves. Therefore, we are
afraid – of events, of situations, of possibilities. So prejudice
eventually turns out to be the fear of oneself. “I am never prepared.”
“I am not ready.” “How will I face God?”
My son and I were discussing a certain Christian saint who wants to
be scourged, who wants to be beaten, who wants to be punished. In
Christianity, this is a common feature – lashing yourself, scourging
yourself. We saw it in one of those two movies, beautiful movies – Demons and Angels – which is judging yourself. God does not judge. (And what about your version of Sahaj Marg(tm)!! You are moralizing!! and using a FANTASY, in attempting to prove your bad conclusion ... There are some Christians who mortify themselves as there are some from other religions who see the "flesh" as something to control and to not be controlled by. Many Indians practice such rituals and probably some you consider your masters ... You point at others again!! I (and your three other fingers) POINT back at YOU!! )
To come back to Master’s (invented by a MEDIUM) message of this morning, Babuji Maharaj says human life is a frail thing. It is full
of opportunities, which are missed, which are misused – two things. We
miss opportunities, we misuse opportunities, thereby ruining the
possibility of our evolution, condemning ourselves in a sense to go back
to the same class until we do pass out of it, which we call rebirth,
reincarnation.
Babuji Maharaj goes on to say, “I am not moralising.” (But Chari is moralizing) You see what he
says? Is it a sign of humility? Is it a sign of divinity? (humility is not divinity... they are not the same) The Divine
does not judge. (PROVE IT) You have been given an opportunity. In the way you
handle it, you judge yourself. When you are passed you have passed
yourself. That is why you say, “I have passed.” You don’t say, “The
examiners have passed me.” “I have passed.” ( Chari has not passed... He is attached to MATERIAL, POWER and FANTASY)
So, everything that you say and do is subject to the law of judgement
by the self, of the self. There is no external judge, not even God
judges. Master is very clear: “I do not moralise.”
But Chari "moralises". (See here two examples of Chari's "prejudices": homosexuality, and Bill Gates and the Pope)
Unfortunately, in our
society, even our so-called advanced Sahaj Marg society, it is full of
prejudices; it is full of lost opportunities; it is full of wasted
opportunities – much to the sorrow of the Masters. You know they have
emotion. (Is that why you hide the MATERIAL of your SRCM (California-1997) in a Foundation (SMSF) controlled by businessmen, like YOU? You are afraid that the "abhyasis" will get access to YOUR society?? EMOTIONS??) It is like a father who has many children, who gives them every
opportunity that he can possibly give and he sees them running wild:
one man running wild, one girl running wild, one son studying and coming
out very beautifully. He may be happy about the one son who has matured
in his spiritual self to avoid wasting opportunities and to use them
with the good sense to promote his evolution through this incarnation.
He is sorry for the others. A gardener does not want one rose in his
garden. He wants every bush to flower – flowers all over the place. (Give the "flowers" (the money and power you covet so much) of SRCM (California-1997) to everyone so they can all "flower"... No flower simply OBEYS !! They also have "pleasure" and "decide" for themselves. You are addicted to "control"!! You will lose it also!! )
So Master says in his (invented) message: I wish to see you all developing in
this life in such a way that this incarnation is fruitful, fulfils its
purpose, shows that you have used it well so that you are in the next
stage of life, whatever it may be.
So brothers and sisters, it is unfortunate that we remain, shall I
say, wasteful, neglectful human beings (is Chari "judging" ?? moralizing??) instead of seizing every
opportunity. There is no opportunity which is against us. An opportunity
is, by a spiritual definition, (lol lol that is funny) something which will promote our
evolution, even if you think it is against you. Even failure is an
opportunity, because as they say in the English language, “Failure is
the stepping-stone to success,” provided we use failure properly. We use
that failure to help me to resolve that I shall do better; that
therefore I shall shut my eyes and ears to the temptations of life, to
the temwptations of friendship, to the temptations of events which we
think will titillate us and make us happy. My Master never talked of
friendship. He said the only friend we have is the Master, because under
all circumstances he is working towards our evolution – under all
circumstances. He does not judge. As Babuji Maharaj said, “I do not
moralise.” (YOU DO, Chari!! Chari must not be a "master" as he is no friend and he judges and moralizes ... over and over again!! And still he does not see it!! )
It makes me feel very sad when people point to this person or that
person and say, “I don’t want another like him.” It shows very poor
judgement of human life. If I am a human being and I have the
possibility of evolving out of this life, so has the other person. He
may be a criminal, he may be a leper, he may be anything. When Jesus
Christ kissed the lepers, did it show prejudice? (Then you should all become "Christians" as Chari does not even accept the "homosexuals" and thinks that Bill Gates and the Pope is "morally degraded"... Most Abhyasis think that we are not even "human beings", unless we are in Sahaj Marg(tm) ... ) (see "Sahaj Marg, An Unmeasure-able Blindness" on this blog) He was great precisely
because he did not differentiate. No good man, no bad man – human being.
As a human being he is my brother, under all circumstances; whatever be
his history, past and present. If we do not understand this and stand
by it and live by it, believe me, we are condemning ourselves to a
blighted future, not because God judges us but because we have committed
ourselves to that punishment – self-inflicted punishment, by our
thoughts, by our words, by our actions. (By Chari's thoughts, words, etc... so as to gather "numbers" (people, money, power)...)
Now how do we avoid all this? That is why I have given the slogan.
Babuji Maharaj said, “Love Him (IT) who (THAT) loves all.” That is very easy. We all
claim to love Babuji Maharaj. Babuji Maharaj once asked a very potent
question. When somebody said, “I love God,” he asked, “Does He (IT) love
you?” You know that old beautiful novel where that fellow who is driving
a cart, he writes on the cart that he loves her or something like that –
David Copperfield. But it is not enough my loving. I must be loved. And
I cannot be loved unless I love continuously, effortlessly, endlessly,
which means I don’t love persons, peoples, events – I love. And that
love goes around the universe and comes back to me and I feel loved. (Chari thinks and teaches, on the Sahaj Marg(tm) site for the kids, that God is MALE and Nature is FEMALE ... This is not THE Truth ... it is just plain WRONG!!)
So everybody (YOU, Chari) must remember this, from the lowest to the highest. Even
a so-called master must remember this, because if he slips a little, he
slips. When you are at a height of hundred feet and you hold on to
something, if you just let go of it, you fall. Isn’t it? That wonderful,
beautiful game that we have, Snakes and Ladders, shows the biggest
danger is at ninety-nine. The biggest danger is not in the beginning of
life; it is in the end of life. Therefore Babuji Maharaj said that in a
spiritual pursuit, in a spiritual way, there can be no satisfaction,
because if you are satisfied and sit back, your progress is stopped. (Get ready for the "snakes", Chari!! Or get rid of the "MATERIAL" willingly!! NOW! )
So, you see, we are not to be satisfied. You may be satisfied with
the ice cream (the fiction movies, the money, the power, the oppulence, etc.. etc...) that you are eating or your train journey, but never
satisfied inside with your spiritual voyage, which must under all
circumstances be pushed by longing for more and more. Not avarice for
more and more, longing for more and more. Like an engine is pushed by
steam pressure, or like your car is moving by your foot on the
accelerator, there must be an accelerator in my heart, which is the
pressure of love which carries me forward. The pressure of prejudices,
hatred – these are my foot on the brake, and my car stops. (You preach for yourself and you point at the rest of your brothers and sisters, we the HUMANS who are not attached to the material and power as much as you are ... and we don't believe in FICTION movies... we don't believe in "Hollywood" as the "giver of truth".
Sisters and brothers, you have to take this very seriously, because
even though we have been receiving a message a day from my Master (Chari's MEDIUM, a French Lady who is anonymous) ever
since I fell ill, I do not know how many of you read it. Some of you, I
am sure, say, “He says the same thing every day.” It's like a man who
reads history and says, “What is this Napoleon? What is this Hitler?
What is this Alexander? Same story. He was born, he fought, he
conquered, he died – history.” And if you are satisfied with that
understanding of history, you have not learnt the lessons of history. (All inventions of SPIRITUALISTS who must "become" and who must have a "GOAL" ... simply BE SPIRITUAL)
So, every page you turn, every line you read, you must read
carefully; do not skip through the book, because you will miss. What do
you miss? You miss whatever there may be which can help you in your
evolution. (Somewhere along the line, you must have skipped a page or two... You are still hiding the SRCM material in a foundation managed by pharmaceutical, blue-jeans, and hotel and restaurant developers, IT services, etc... all businessmen because you are afraid that Babuji's family will come and take it all away ... along with your legacy: your false and un-true "HISTORY") Similarly, in life we don’t skip over the events. I know
people who go to the seaside [and say], “Same water, same breeze”, or
who go to the Grand Canyon and say, “Same story: a river, a gorge.” They
watch a lovely sunset, but for them it's not a lovely sunset. “The same
old sun setting always in the west. What is so wonderful about it?”
We must have eyes like those of a child, innocent, looking at
everything every time with a new understanding, with a new vision,
adoring the Creator who is able to play so many scenarios with His
sunsets and with His sunrises, each different from the other. It is a
very good truism to say that no two leaves are alike among all the
billions of leaves in this world. Similarly, no two humans are alike. So
how can you judge? (How can YOU??) If they are all alike, you can judge. When there is
no alikeness, you lack knowledge to judge, you lack understanding to
judge. Every baby is different, every finger is different. Isn’t it? (If we are all "unique" what makes you (or Babuji) "SPECIAL"? Don't you understand about ONE and ALL!! The freedom which you refuse to WOMEN (or to homosexuals) to be Masters, shows that you are "prejudiced" !! Do you only allow cheaters and thieves to be Masters ?? NO SEX we're Spiritual?? What about the Killer of one's innocent mother who blindly obeys his guru, and cuts off the head of his/her mother? This, simply to "Obey" and "surrender" to the orders of his rhetorically megalomaniacal GURU?? (see here)
The Western logic of codifying everything, classifying everything, is
the big mistake into which we have also fallen here in the Orient.
“Human beings are human beings.” “Women are women. They are all the
same.” (They (women) are "unique" enough to be capable of BEING MASTERS, although you in SRCM do not allow Women to be Masters) It is a common statement by all men. “Women are women everywhere;
so are men.” Not at all. Every human life is a unique human life, if
you but seek to probe and understand what makes it unique – not to show
differences, but to show the uniqueness of each and every human life.
If you (YOU) are not able to do this you must pray that you are bestowed
this understanding, and then only you will pass through life seeing the
uniqueness of everything, the beauty of everything, the transparency of
everything. And then you (YOU) will stop judging yourself because you yourself
are unique in every way. And therefore, there is no common law for
abhyasis. There is no one judgement for all of them. Each one has his
own unique judgement of himself or herself. Please try to understand
that prejudice is ultimately prejudging your own self, which you use to
(so-called) judge others, which is but a reflection of what you are,
projected on others. (Do you get it now??) Give the money and the properties you usurped so the "seasons of giving might be yours and not your inheriters". (Kahlil Gibran ... the Prophet)
So we are in this new year. I hope you will use Babuji’s (Chari's MEDIUM's and Chari, claiming to be Babuji and inventing his whispers...) messages
wisely. Read them again and again (brain-washing!! so you may then "Obey") – his messages, repeat what Babuji
says that these messages will last into the future, where they will be
respected, where it will benefit. It is almost as if he says the
present-day humans will not benefit from this, because they will not
understand. Why? Because they will not read. Why? Because they think,
“The same old Master, the same old message. Do this, do that.” (If you want to read Babuji's messages, read them from Babuji, not from Whispers which comes from an anonymous French Lady Medium, who is serving Chari)
The sameness of things are betraying us. (that is what is hidden from false Masters ... The ONE-ness of ALL is what some "gurus" can't see, so they create an "elite" of their friends who are the only one who can LEAD the masses who must Obey) When we think everything is
same or similar, we are leading ourselves into betraying ourselves. With
love we can see how everything is different – even amoebas under the
microscopes, even planets, even stars. There are no two stars which are
alike. They may be alike in the sense of the Western knowledge,
astronomy, that they have mass, they have colour, they have gas, et
cetera, et cetera. It is like a chemist who has gone through a chemistry
course, and he is being interviewed, “What is the difference between
hydrogen and oxygen?” If he says, “No difference; both are gases,” he
wouldn’t get the job. “What is the difference between vegetable oils and
mineral oils?” “Nothing, because they are both oils.” (Wrong: one gas is explosive, and one is not. Likewise, one oil is vegetable and one is mineral... they are not the same, but they appear to be "similar" ... they only appear the same to those who want to see them "shallowly", in "general terms", for reasons of their own, serving their own current prejudices and pleasures !! )
So the sameness betrays us into a lack of understanding, the lack of
ability to understand, and shows in us a lack of desire to understand.
That again is prejudice. (The differences betrays you, and you think that your "elite" will confirm you prejudices (towards homosexuals, etc...) and they will for a while and then, they will change and become like us... ONE!! A family made of ALL!! Even YOU!! )
So on this happy occasion of the New Year, I pray for you all. Please
read Babuji’s (The anonymous Spiritualist's French Lady Medium's and Chari's ) messages carefully, where again and again there is
insistence in, what I say is, obedience. If you obey, you don’t need
anything else. Obedience of a human nature is something in which you
have surrendered the need to understand, surrendered to everything, to
the higher power (Chari? Light? which is also matter, and not ONE and ALL) . Therefore, it (HE?) now acts through me, and it is always a
step in the right direction leading to my evolution.
The Babuji who was once living until 1982, wanted you to understand and to be like LIONS, not like "some" sheep who simply OBEY and follow the leader, even if the leader is a materialist, spiritualist, businessman, who would lead his followers "over the cliff" of materiality and spiritualism!!
So thank you and Happy New Year again.
Imagine there's no RELIGION!! Do Not OBEY!!

Sahaj Marg(tm), An Immeasurable Blindness!
Translation of an article: "Un Incommensurable Aveuglement" by Élodie on her blog in Europe: "Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg"
The spiritual quest is a personal quest, a journey inside, without beginning or end; it is this personal autonomy which is the guarantee of the encounter with the divine and true inner transformation.
This then is what this so-called spiritual Elite is, while spirituality remains and will always remain a personal inner journey without end.

An immeasurable blindness
The spiritual quest is a personal quest, a journey inside, without beginning or end; it is this personal autonomy which is the guarantee of the encounter with the divine and true inner transformation.
The spiritual method proposed by Babuji deviates from all spiritual
traditions by setting a goal, a result to be achieved, and decree-ing the
urgency of the divine realization. To expedite the process and achieve the fixed goal, the spiritual leader transmits divine energy into the heart of his disciples.
In doing so, Babuji unwittingly joins into the utilitarianism of our modern
societies, from which the likely success of the method among Westerners
seeking a closer God, incarnated by this new idol which is the living master,
without renouncing in any way the familial and professional modern life.
With the increasing number of his disciples, Babuji began to appoint preceptors to serve as relays, transmission channels; and Chari continued in
this direction. The simple and direct relationship between master and disciple has become distended and has fostered a vast collective hierarchy. Idolized, the living master incites rivalry and competition to better approach him, to serve him and benefit from his attention. Love of God has been replaced by love for the Master, which Chari has translated into obedience and service. The individual and spiritual quest has disappeared in favor of a kind of
religion with its supreme authority, manipulative, which dictates what
to do and what to think: a sort of outer God instead of the divine
within.
This new religion of Sahaj Marg has forged itself a culture, a philosophy with its own system of beliefs and myths.
First the goal, fusion with the divine, a result to achieve has become an access
to an indefinite "Central Region", the Brighter World of Whispers. Next, is the special personality, namely Babuji, at the top of the spiritual
Hierarchy of the Great saints of history whose sojourn in the Central
Region (of the Brighter World?), is seconded by a living Master who must be loved, hence obeyed and served.
Finally, the mysterious Grand Design, in part revealed in Whispers by
prophecies attributed to Babuji, where co-habits a population of
politicians, allegedly human beings "in waiting", in the midst of the mire of this so-called "humanity" which does not deserve the name.
We can, we MUST judge Sahaj Marg by its results, that is to say by its followers, we are told.
Models of love, compassion and tolerance who say without flinching
that the term "human being" is an "exaggeration", if not an outright "lie"; it is apparently not
enough to "have two arms, two legs and the most developed mammalian brain" to
make us human.
This then is what this so-called spiritual Elite is, while spirituality remains and will always remain a personal inner journey without end.

SRCM(tm) In The World (2012)
Taken and translated from an article by Alexis: "Géographie du Sahaj Marg", called: "SRCM dans le Monde", on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg
January 18, 2013
SRCM(tm) in the World
by Alexis: Geography of Sahaj marg
Sahaj
marg in the world has 74,000 contributing members, (25,000 regular attendees,
200,000 supporters) and 3,000 preceptors, a turnover of around 26 million (Euros)
excluding real estate and assets of 130 million (Euros) . for a penetration of 12 followers per million population, a growth of 2% per annum of the membership and 6% for the preceptors.
Nota Bene: the number of practitioners, contributors and supporters are estimates. Same for the turnover and assets. In contrast, the number of preceptors are the figures quoted by the SRCM(tm). The
amount of donations over 6 years (2005-2011) comes from data from the Foreign
Contributions Regulation Act of India Ministry of Home Affairs. (see link to FCRA on this blog at: "Let's Talk Money")
India has 61,000 contributing members, representing 82% of the world figures, but 55% of the preceptors and 68% of the membership only, against 93% of supporters, namely 60
followers per million inhabitants and a growth rate of 2.5% of the membership. In financial terms, this is 67% of the turnover and 62% of the total assets excluding real estate. Most of the real estate is in India. There would be 140-200 ashrams, but only 1 BMA (Babuji Memorial Ashram), 8 ashrams Class of A and 21 of Class B + 2 CREST, two retirement centers and 1 LMOIS (Lalaji Memrial Omega International School). At the end of 2011, SRCM claimed to have about a thousand meditation centers in India.
In the
rest of the world, it is 13,000 contributing members, representing 18% of the membership, but 45% of the preceptors, 32% of regular attendees, and only 7% of
supporters, namely 2 per million followers and 1% annual growth of membership. In financial terms, this is 33% of the turnover and 38% of the total assets excluding real estate. There are 17 ashrams, CREST and retreat centers, but little or no land. At the end of 2011, SRCM(tm) claimed to have 102 meditation centers outside of India.
In Western Europe it is 3-5,000 contributors in 2012, 37% the membership outside of India. This is the first region for Sahaj marg after India, more than any other continent. Its penetration rate is 11 per million followers, close to the world average.
In Western Europe there are 296 preceptors in 1995 (57% excluding India), 365 in 2007, nearly 500 in 2012 (37% excluding India). After a terribly rapid development until the mid-90s, the growth of the Mission has greatly slowed to the benefit of other continents.
Financially,
the total donations from Western Europe to the Mission in 6 years (FCRA data from
2005-2011) reached 151 million rupees (2.16 million Euros or 2.75 million
U.S. dollars), or more than 15% of all donations excluding India. It
also has eight ashrams, 3 in France, a CREST Centre in Berlin and a Retreat Center at
Vrads Sande in Denmark, an ashram in Switzerland, one in Italy and the
last one in the UK.
In terms of numbers, France is by far the largest, followed by Germany and Denmark. In
terms of penetration, Denmark crushes all others with more than 100 disciples per million inhabitants, followed distantly by Switzerland with a
little more than 50 followers.
North
America has 2-4,000 contributors in 2012, 27% of the membership outside
of India and a penetration rate of 9 adepts per million inhabitants. There were also 99 preceptors in 1995 (19% excluding India), 263 in 2007 and around 350 in 2012 (27% excluding India). Recent growth is mainly due to Indo-American surge. Canada will weight very little compared to the U.S., with just over 10% of the membership.
Third
region of the world with respect to membership in Sahaj marg after India and
Europe, North America wins hands down on the financial charts with more than
three quarters of foreign donations, nearly 755 million rroupies (10.8
million Euros or $13.7 million USD). It has five ashrams, all in the United States including two very recent additions in California and New Jersey.
The
rest of Asia excluding India, has 1,000 to 1,600 contributors in 2012, or
yet 11% of the membership outside of India, but less than 1 follower per million
inhabitants. There are also 47 precpeptors in 1995 (9% excluding India), 109 in 2007 and nearly 150 today (11% excluding India).
Asia
contributes 5% of foreign donations (0.7 million Euros or 0.9 million USD), of
which 88% comes from the Middle East and Peninsular Malaysia combined. The Middle East weighs in financially for more than half of Asian gifts and more than 40% of preceptors. Peninsular Malaysia accounts for a third of the donations and almost as many preceptors. There are also two ashrams in all and for all, one in Malaysia and one in Dubai.
One might as well saythat the rest of Asia is empty of Sahaj Marg or almost, even if they try by all means to develop in China. Along with
Denmark, the United Arab Emirates are the first in the world for the
penetration by Sahaj Marg(tm), with more than 100 disciples per million
inhabitants.
In
terms of membership numbers, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa stand around 8-900 abhyasis each with about 7% of the membership outside India each
and less than 3 adepts per million inhabitants. But the dynamics are very different.
Africa
has stagnated with 47 preceptors in 1995 and only 67 in 1995, while Eastern
Europe has increased from 17 to 72 preceptors over the same period with a
sharp increase since the fall of the (Berlin) wall, and Latin America which
started from zero and reached 71 preceptors in 2007.
In
financial terms, Europe is in the lead with just over 200,000 euros in
donations, or 1.5% of total foreign donations, from 95% from Ukraine,
Belarus, Russia and Romania. It
is followed by Africa with less than 100,000 euros, from 93% in the
Horn of South Africa: South Africa, Madagascar and Mauritius (2 thirds
of African preceptors). Latin
America has brought in less than 10,000 euros in donations and does not
have any ashram, while there is one in South Africa and one in Romania.
Oceania with between 4-600 contributors, has only 4% of the membership, but 14 followers per million inhabitants anyway. It also has 13 preceptors in 1995 (2.5% excluding India), 40 in 2007 and fifty today (4% excluding India).
Financially,
Oceania accounted for nearly 1% of foreign donations, with nearly 130,000 euros in 6 years, and it still does not have its fixed ashram, Chari has fun by regularly demolishing their plans.

Sahaj Marg(tm) and Becoming a Real Human Being?
Translation of an article (in reply to Fabrice, a preceptor of Sahaj Marg(tm)): "Devenir De Vrais Êtres Humains", on Élodie's blog in Europe: "Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg"
To Become Real Human Beings
In other words, I do not practice because I believe. Here (in spirituality) BELIEF is OFF SIDE. It does not fit at all into any account, for every belief represents a bias, a prejudice.
Here, we speak from experience, a feeling of well-being, tolerance, sense of peace, increase of love, no matter who the guru is, whatever the name of the path. Spirituality has nothing to do with proprieties, a guru does not come to please, but to tell uncomfortable truths which can upset and can shake us in our certainties. Every Master, teacher, guide or Guru whatever his name, has his personality, his character. We therefore accept him as he is, as he accepts us as we are. It is the freedom given to us by the spiritual path: not a stereotype or a stagnant situation.
One judges the tree and the gardener by the fruit they can produce. To reject the fruit because of a prejudice is not correct nor adult. What can one say of those who do not even want to look at the fruit under the pretext that they do not like the gardener? ...
(...) Whether one refers to Sahaj Marg or to any other spiritual path, the only reality to serve as a master standard is Love. What good is ultimate wisdom, power, knowledge of the science of the causes and effects? Love is the glue that binds all things, gives direction to what I just mentioned above. Love gives meaning and coherence to our work. Love is precisely Ultimate Wisdom and ultimate power. Become Love and refine it again and again. This is the direction of the authentic spiritual paths.
It is unfortunate that the Sahaj Marg is so misunderstood and so often poorly practiced in its philosophy and its implications in relation to others. In other words, how does Sahaj Marg serve me if I do not get better every day.
(...) When I say that a spiritual practice if it is sincere, should make us real human beings ... yes! I confirm it, and invite you to not take it out of context, but to go through with the sentence: "... more and more conscious of one's functionning, one's choices, by putting at the heart of one's preoccupation Love for others, care for others, respect for all life, patience, and (very important) respecting one's limitations and those of others."
In other words, having two arms, two legs and the most developed brain among the mammals is not enough to make us human. Simply watch the news to realize: violence, barbarity, rape , child rape, cruelty to animals and nature, yesterday, in a school shooting 28 dead, innocents ... I'll stop there.
There is then nothing human in this sad report, or even animal, animals do not behave like this, it is even insulting them!
Well, you know, I am sure, what I meant by saying that spirituality is a way to allow everyone to develop basic human values and to gradually become conscious of casting out of one's self the destructive trends that make man the worst of predators.
I hope I was clear this time. "
Sahaj Marg requires one to deprogram from one's conditionning, limiting beliefs, prejudices, etc.. (Sic). Belief is out of play (off side), everything is at the service of the experiment: the master, Whispers, the medium, etc..
Sahaj Marg requires one to get rid of one's beliefs, but it is to better adopt a new belief system.
Thus, love of others, respect for all life, the philosophy of Sahaj Marg and its implications in relation to others (sic) brings Fabrice and other abhyasis to declare that having two arms, two legs and the most elaborate brain is not enough to make us human (re-sic).
In other words, we are not worthy of our human condition, even an animal does not behave as badly as us. So there you have one trait of the belief system that the SRCM drives home, we are not human beings.
In my eyes, this about Fabrice proves that there is indeed a belief system rooted in the depths of the SRCM: we work in our group to become REAL human beings, others are not, do not deserve it. This is serious, very serious, and we hear a little more of it each day.
I admit not knowing how to say things so that the abhyasis will finally be made conscious of the risk of derailing which is behind these thoughts. For me they are just as sickening as the acts they accuse other people of doing, as they deny them their "human being" status. How does one explain it? This seems so obvious that words fail me, I do not know where to start.
Fabrice said: "there is nothing human there, or even animal," I fully agree with the second part of this claim, these behaviors have nothing to do with animals, but I reach a conclusion opposite to his: it is that it is typically human behavior, whether we like it or not. The human species is capable of the worst and the best, you can not remove the worse, you can not deny humanity its behavior considered bad, they are an integral part of it. The person who killed 20 children in the United States before killing himself was a human being, whether they like it or not, there is no doubt.
Abhyasis dream of a mankind better than it is (I too dream every day that passes), but how dare they say that "having two arms, two legs and the most developed mamalian brain is not enough to make us human? "
In doing so, they join in my eyes the most vile behavior of the human species. On behalf of thoughts like this, they justify all abuse: the death penalty, Hitlerian eugenics ... and probably also the ideology promoted in Whispers.
As I said before, this behavior is observed in most abhyasis, more numerous, more often. This is serious, very serious, you're dangerous.
I feel distraught at not finding the words to better show you how your thinking can become dangerous, it seems so obvious.
Human values are not what you dream they are, human values are a reflection of humanity, good and bad. You are re-inventing another human species, a side of humanity, founded on the values of Sahaj Marg. I do not share your values, so I'll re-invent a third human species, and so on. We will only arrive at a better way to kill one another.
The world as it is does not satisfy you, you have chosen the internal and the personal path to change and improve it, so far so good. But considering that your values are higher, that there is a population of elected (an elite?), and denying the humanity of those who do not suit you, you do show the most abject sectarianism and you set yourself lower than the ground. It is no longer human improvement, and quite the opposite, it is ridiculous.
I repeat, I sincerely wish that you would meditate seriously on the implications of these thoughts. Do me this pleasure, I fear that this sums up all that I can give you from my side, everything else is useless and in vain, in the face of it.

To Become Real Human Beings
A plunge into the heart of the belief system of Sahaj Marg
Fabrice (a preceptor of Sahaj Marg(tm)) reveals the depths of his thought
Excerpts: "(...)
I have no need or SRCM as such or of Chari as such nor indeed of Whispers,
or the medium, or Kasturi as such. I'm not attached to any name, no
framework, no institution no particular belief IF THEY ARE NOT IN
SERVICE EXPERIENCE.
In other words, I do not practice because I believe. Here (in spirituality) BELIEF is OFF SIDE. It does not fit at all into any account, for every belief represents a bias, a prejudice.

Love gives meaning and coherence to our work. Love is precisely Ultimate Wisdom and ultimate power. Become Love and refine it again and again. This is the direction of the authentic spiritual paths.
(...) Well understood, Sahaj Marg should be used as a tool for self improvement. How
to deprogram one from one's conditionning, limiting beliefs, prejudices, judgment of
others, past wounds ... to become a true human being more and more conscious of one's functionning, one's choices, by putting at the heart of one's preoccupation, Love for others, attention to
others, respect for all life, patience, and (very important) respecting one's
limitations and those of others.
It is unfortunate that the Sahaj Marg is so misunderstood and so often poorly practiced in its philosophy and its implications in relation to others. In other words, how does Sahaj Marg serve me if I do not get better every day.
(...) When I say that a spiritual practice if it is sincere, should make us real human beings ... yes! Well, you know, I am sure, what I meant by saying that spirituality is a way to allow everyone to develop basic human values and to gradually become conscious of casting out of one's self the destructive trends that make man the worst of predators.
I hope I was clear this time. "
After having seduced us with your small talk when there is question of love,
tolerance and self improvement, Fabrice reveals the depth of his
thought.
This belief system, this culture or this philosophy are so well integrated by the abhyasis that they absolutely do not perceive it.
This culture shaped by Chari, and developed to the extreme by Whispers and taken up in a chorus by all the abhyasis is worthy of the behavior of adolescents in crisis, a
limited thinking, atrophied and lobotomized.
I regret to say that the 6 billion inhabitants of the planet are REAL human beings. By denying that quality, Sahaj Marg legitimizes all the wars of religion, and all forms of totalitarianism. Believing that some human beings are more REAL than others, is the beginning of the worst abuses experienced by our planet. This is a really CULTISH thought.
It is no longer human improvement, and quite the opposite, it is ridiculous.
Obviously, your belief system is so integrated that you can not even perceive the incongruity of your words. From the outside, it is obvious. Just as the possession of firearms will not be challenged by the Americans
despite the tragedy that strikes them, because it is part of their
culture, while that is the first thing that offends foreigners.
Personal message for Fabrice:
I have not managed to strike a sensitive chord in you, I'm sorry, we are in a dialogue of the deaf, and yet it is the essential that is expressed there. You're being misled in a dangerous sectarian belief system under the guise of a pseudo perfection. The more beautiful the Utopia, the more likely it leads to a totalitarian hell.
I repeat, I sincerely wish that you would meditate seriously on the implications of these thoughts. Do me this pleasure, I fear that this sums up all that I can give you from my side, everything else is useless and in vain, in the face of it.

Sahaj Marg, An Unforgettable Experience?

An unforgettable experience?
A modest contribution to a complicated debate on the eminently subjective intensity of feeling brought about by meditation.
Our Western world is hectic and stressful, it always demands more from us, it washes us and it empties us of our substance. Now everyone at one time or another in his life, longs for peace and serenity. Paradoxically, the hyper materialism of our society inexorably leads us back to the quest for meaning and spiritual research. In this context, the personal development techniques see a boulevard open at their feet.
Meditation has the wind in its sails, it help manage daily stress,
it provides access to a relative well-being, in the absence of a total
well-being.
Technically, it consists of relaxing one's self and to empty one's interior, then follows mechanically a
sense of calm and wholeness which anyone can achieve with a little
practice. The feeling of this experience is generally very positive.
Going a little further, meditation is also accompanied by various feelings such as experiencing a spiral of energy, feelings of infinite
joy, love, peace and compassion and mystical visions, paranormal or
magical ecstasy. Also, it can give the feeling of a universal presence or a universal truth. Some sometimes speak of the awakening of consciousness, of transcendent states or altered states of consciousness.
These experiences seem indeed real for the people who live them, but
everyone interprets them in a personal way, depending on their culture or
their belief system.
The West has seized upon these ancient technique, as it does with everything, that is to say, greedily, hungrily. Spiritual movements have thus developed from the East to the West with great success. Each of them tries to explain how their method is specific and better than its neighbor's, and if that is possible: unique in the world. But Buddhism, Hinduism and Sufism has offered these techniques since forever, or almost.
Babuji created the method of Sahaj Marg around 1945, a simplified and accelerated technique from out of Raja Yoga, with a guide who
accompanies the spiritual seeker in his meditation on the heart, and who
(allegedly) transmits divine energy.
Although they deny it, SRCM abhyasis peddle the idea that this method
is unique, the best, the one that provides the most intense spiritual
experience the most rapidly. For them, Sahaj Marg is THE ultimate spiritual path.
Lalaji, the predecessor and the professed master of Babuji, used to say that it is
the master (the spiritual guide) who does all the work once the disciple has
abandoned himslef in his hands.
Chari, the self-appointed successor of Babuji, said that the preceptor is there to
serve the master, he is his channel to reach thousands of abhyasis and
(allegedly) to transmit divine energy to them.
But with more than 3,000 preceptors, sometimes appointed by phone after a few
days of practice, the quality of the channel is significantly depleted,
and sometimes dried up. Today, most of the followers of the SRCM experience or feel nothing more than what is provided by any other meditation technique.
At Sahaj Marg, the meditation thus provides a sense of well-being, it is an undeniable fact, even if its intensity is very variable. When the spiritual guide is good (master or preceptor), the intensity of feeling is stronger and makes a more lasting impression.
At SRCM, it is customary to say that this is due to the quality of
the transmission, to be understood as the spiritual qualities of the guide.
But would it not rather be due to the prejudice of the abhyasi toward his guide,
thus establishing a prior trust conducive to a more total abandonment, and
therefore from the outset to a more intense result?
When the feeling is so intense, it is customary to say at the SRCM
that one has approached the Central Region, or a merger with the Divine, the Holy Grail
that is dangled before everyone.
It is held up as the ultimate goal, undefined because it is indefinable, but accessible to everyone because the full preceptors, shown as example, have supposedly
reached it.
The more the feeling is intense, the more intense also is the descent phase (coming down) that follows, as in the use of drugs (narcotics).
The follower of the SRCM passes from a phase of wholeness (up) to a phase of
dejection (down) and to severe depression in a continuous cycle that SRCM
customarily explains as the re-opening of unconscious wounds which every human
being apparently have inside him.
When the intensity of feeling is low or when it is not up to
expectations, it is customary to say that the SRCM adept was in a bad
condition: love for the master was low, (there was) insufficient cleaning or insufficient work on one's
character, etc.. The custom at SRCM then guilts the disciple because he did not make enough effort to be in a good condition.
For my part, I meditated at the SRCM alone and with only two main precpeptors. The first was full of himself and exasperated me, I never felt anything else with him than an uncontrollable feeling of rejection.
I did everything to change and discovered a second preceptor which I chose
because our contact was good, but he was apparently not a very good
channel because I've never been moved.
But what did I not hear at my center, when I tried to explain my weak feeling, the group sent me back to my condition, my lack of work on myself, I was
solely responsible, guilty. I happened occasionally to meditate with other preceptors at gatherings and Oh! Miracle (lo and behold), there everything went well, the experience was wonderful. Since my departure, I continue to meditate alone and sometimes with guides that have nothing to do with the SRCM. I've lived experiences of all intensities, from nothing to wonderful, whether alone or accompanied (with guide).
Sahaj Marg therefore offers a free service of the same order as other
meditation techniques, but unlike many institutes of personal development,
SRCM presents this technique along with restrictive and inevitable user's manual, a decryption template which comes directly from its belief system. At SRCM, one can not meditate according to Sahaj Marg without adopting
its culture and philosophy, and it explains both the lack of experience, and
its highest intensities or its moments of depression.
It provides as well both the method and the key to the interpretations of the successes and
the failures, leaving nothing unknown so as to never let the adepts alone to
reflect on their experience.
Practice this meditation with another belief system, another
framework, and you will come to totally other conclusions than those imposed on you by the
SRCM.
Generally, the meditative experience is there waiting for you, although its intensity may vary, its failure and success are explained. However, its spiritual aspect is less obvious, it is a matter of belief. SRCM customarily says that it is the Master's transmission of divine energy to the disciple, because one must meditate on the love of the
master and on his constant remembrance. A true spiritual quest is to go in search of one's inner God through introspection and meditation. At the SRCM, it is an external God in the best case, but most likely, the Master or the preceptor. To each his own quest for the divine.
I know that I will ruffle more than one with such remarks. I certainly did not cover everything on the subject, I'm well aware. I do not pretend to hold the truth, this is MY truth at this moment. To each his own, the debate is more open than ever.
Michael often has advice which I really appreciate because they help me to think and grow. I would be very happy to have his contribution on this particular subject of spiritual experience. This is a call for contributions, thank you to 4d-Don for relaying my request to him if he has not read these lines.

Sahaj Marg(tm) A Religion in the Process of Hatching!
Translation of an article by Élodie: "Une Religion Entrain D'éclore", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.
The founding myth of the religion of Sahaj Marg
From the Central Region (Brighter world), in the midst of the spiritual Hierarchy of the great saints of history, a special personality named Babuji announces a Grand intelligent design. This is the great turning undertaken by Chari in 2005 with the publication of Whispers, as elaborated by an female anonymous French medium, allegedly from the so-called Babuji, who died almost 30 years ago. These Whispers of Babuji from the Brighter World (Whispers from the Brighter World) are increasingly becoming the foundation of a new religion, already germinating for many years inside the Mission. Thus we see the day by day hatching of the religion of Sahaj Marg, driven by the daily Whispers of Babuji.
What message are delivered by Babuji's Whispers?
Babuji's message is a prophecy which he claims to be beyond the reach of our understanding, and that he can not or does not want to unveil the strategy for the moment. What he wants to state for now is that humanity has lost its mind, that its behavior is destructive and that it is entering into a great turmoil, a time of dislocation, of mutations and of natural disasters. Divine punishment and the Apocalypse is arriving. But a new race, already at work, will provide the expertise to build a new and completely different world. There are many called, but few are chosen, they are different and misunderstood. This elite will regenerate humanity and save the world.
For more information, see: file decryption Whispers performed by Alexis (1), (2), (3), (4), (5)
Cataclysms, Apocalypse, divine punishment, prophecy, new race, elite, etc.. The Grand Design, founding myth of a new religion, is in place. Religion is a collective practice with rituals that connect people together from common beliefs, but it also creates intolerance against those who do not share the same beliefs. It is far from spirituality, a personal approach that liberates and gives meaning to life.
Faced with the threat of the collapse of SRCM, Chari has made the daring choice to forge a religious myth, a unifying religion generating dependency, rivalry and competition. It is perniciously instilled in the minds of the abhyasis by the daily circulation of Whispers which tirelessly repeats the same message.
What is the impact on abhyasis?
Some telling examples:
Influenced by Whispers an abhyasi of the Mission wrote: “It is assumed that the society today has come to a state where calling its members “human” is something like an exaggeration or a lie. The homo sapiens has the complete form but it is lacking in ‘human content’.” (Mukul S. Mukherjee, in a study entitled: Efficacy of a coping strategy for developing human qualities). According to Sahaj Marg, we are not worthy of being called "human beings"
My own mother sees her grandchildren as indigo children, the future elite of the New World announced in Whispers.
On a website called "Afraid of The Future Survival Network," the abhyasis of "pockets of the future" discuss the future:
“We have a spiritual community, the Shri Ram Chandra Mission based in Chennai but there are heavy concentrations of members throughout India. Aside from the community aspect Indians are better equipped to adapt after the collapse and the country itself is much more mature than America.
(…)
So this means the best, smartest so called elite of society who have perhaps the best genes to pass on to future generations have drastically less children than uneducated people who have many advantages and a rich environment to offer future generations. Our spiritual practice teaches that higher developed souls who are inclined towards spiritual evolution often do not have suitable environments to incarnate into where they can pursue spiritual advancement.”
Fear of the future, the collapse of world, an elite with renewed genes: and all this on a portal that surfs on the fear of the end of the world and the end of the Mayan calendar to better sell their junk; these abhyasis would be better inspired to go see elsewhere rather than their practice of soliciting from this type of audience.
Only religion (Sahaj Marg?) still arouses a fanatical attachment. Its Prophet (Chari) is the archetypal modern leader because he creates around him the most robust faith. Religion (Sahaj Marg?) is the most ideal example of a form of belief system (Whispers?). It has a dogma, sacred texts which one obeys, heroes with the qualities of saints (Lalaji, Babuji, etc.). It provides the lost believer (abhyasi) a need for protection which all humans experience since childhood, a worldview where each problem found its solution, a total vision (Whispers).
It explains the origin of the universe and its future plans (Whispers). After exacerbating the threats to our world, it brings hope, it ensures that the elite (abhyasis) will emerge victorious from the turmoil and finally, provided they identify with an ideal which transcends them, and comply with the requirements it lays down.
Religion (Sahaj Marg) conceals a secret (the Grand Design) and it cultivates this mystery. On its behalf, it imposes rules and proclaims truths, which are not explained. This secret justifies the hierarchy (master, preceptors, abhyasis). The individual who climbs its rungs approaches this sacred point, others remain at a distance. Religion (Sahaj Marg) is the work of the spiritual son (Chari), the successor of the founder (Babuji). He exonerates and legitimizes him (the founder?), and at the same time concealing his crimes.
Intolerance and fanaticism are the necessary accompaniment of the religious feeling. They are inevitable for those who think they possess the secret of earthly or eternal happiness (abhyasis). These feelings of fanaticism make that man finds his happiness in worship and obedience and is ready to give his life for his idol (Chari).

(September to November, 2012)
Fear of the future, the collapse of world, an elite with renewed genes: and all this on a portal that surfs on the fear of the end of the world and the end of the Mayan calendar to better sell their junk; these abhyasis would be better inspired to go see elsewhere rather than their practice of soliciting from this type of audience.
Chari uses and abuses crowd manipulation techniques
I will paraphrase Serge Moscovici (The Age of Crowds) and Gustave Le Bon (Crowd Psychology)
I will paraphrase Serge Moscovici (The Age of Crowds) and Gustave Le Bon (Crowd Psychology)

Chari of Sahaj Marg(tm) Brews More Than $30 Million Per Year
Taken and Translated from an article by Alexis: "Chari Brasse Plus de 30 Millions de dollars par an" on Élodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg
Assets and Revenue
Chari's Multinational Chari: 2012 Estimate
According to the Indian government reported by Tehelka in 2007, the empire of Sri Sri Ravishankar, Chief Executive Officer of "Art of living" was estimated at approximately 57 million euros in revenue (4 billion rupees or $73 million dollars), as those of Amma Mata Amrita or Baba Ramdev.
According to the FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs) SRCM and SMSF together weighed in at 37% of the revenues of the various NGO's of Mata Amrita averaged over 6 years. If this ratio is maintained, the empire of Sahaj Marg generates € 21 million in revenues per year (1.5 billion rupees or $27 million U.S. dollars).
In 1997, Umesh Chandra Saxena, son of Babuji and direct competitor of Rajagopalachari, considered the assets of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission at 200 million euros, while it only had 55,000 followers. If the assets and memberships were proportional we would now reach assets of 269 million euros (19 billion rupees, or $ 342 million).
I have long tried to calculate the weight of the financial empire of Sahaj marg, with more or less success because of the omerta (Mafia code of silence) on this topic.
Today, we know precisely the accounting numbers for several years of 4 national associations of SRCM, France, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Canada, nearly 25% of the membership outside of India. Recent reports have filtered through on the Meditation Centre in Chennai, one of the largest centers in India, with about 3% of Indian preceptors. And finally, we now also have the amount of foreign contributions to the SMSF India and to the SRCM (FCRA, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs).
That's something to work with! That does not preclude that it is still necessary for me to present three necessarily questionable working hypotheses, to allow me to go to the end of my calculations:
Under these assumptions, outside India, the Sahaj Marg(tm) Multinational has a turnover rate of 8 to 9 million euros, a financial capital of € 43 million and 6 million in real estate 17 euros for the ashrams and the CREST Retreat Centers. Therefore the average contributor pays 438 euros per year to the multinational, 146 euros of which are in membership fees. The assets by contributor would be 3,769 euros.
These figures seem solid enough, thanks to figures from the Ministry of Indian Affairs of foreign contributions and the accounting of the four associations which represent a quarter of the membership outside India.
Before I carry with the Indian extrapolations, we must recognize that here, things are more delicate. Extrapolating the results of 3% of the membership without having the amount of Indian donations makes for a large approximation. Obviously, this can be an order of magnitude ...
These restrictions being made, the Sahaj Marg(tm) Multinational in India would have an annual turnover of 17 million euros, a financial capital from 71 to 72 million euros and a property portfolio of € 9 million. Therefore the average contributor pays 203 euros per year to the multinational, 74 euros in membership fees. The assets would be 1,321 euros per contributor. On average, an Indian represents 35-51% of the financial burden of a foreigner, depending on whether it is of the assets or of the revenue ...
A note on the Indian ashrams ... already in 2012, the SRCM itself does not seem to knows how to count them, since it has released 2 different numbers: 140 or 200, you choose! A few years ago, an internal document clarified things a bit by creating three categories of centers in addition to the Babuji Memorial Ashram. The first group consisted of 8 large ashrams, the second of 21 medium-sized, and all others were considered small centers. Since then, one must still add their 2 CREST's, two retreat centers and LMOIS which alone has already swallowed more than 1.8 million euros ...
At the global level, the revenues of the multinational would be of the order of € 26 million (1.8 billion rupees, or $ 33 million dollars). Its financial assets and real estate would amount to 130 million euros (9 billion rupees, or $ 165 million dollars). Remains the property and personal property of Chari & Co ...
"I do not want more and more land holdings without money to build ashrams." Chari said in his speech to ZIC (Zonal-in-Charge) of January 10, 2009, many continue to offer land to the SRCM, but he lacks of financial means to build ashrams! Ah ...Good!
Not to mention that in May 2008, when the Board of Directors of the SRCM France met in Vrads, Rajagopalachari not only doubled the French contribution. He also suggested discreetly creating a President's International Fund based in Switzerland to collect large and small donations, the idea being that the master could draws at will from the pool for what suits his fancy. No written communication would be made, but only oral announcements in the centers to request monthly donations.
Parallel and equally discreetly, real estate projects committees were set up to assist Santosh Khanjee and PR Krishna in finding good real estate deals. But it is no longer only for investment by the foundations. These are now private projects with sometimes very complex legal and financial ramifications where tax lawyers, architects and real estate professionals reflect on the best structures, including the involvement of physical individuals and societies.

- The observations made on the four national associations and on the Chennai Center can be extrapolated to all the national and Indian associations, in proportion to the membership numbers, and more specifically to the number of preceptors.
- At the end of the 90s, before the establishment of the foundations and the SHPT, contributions, donations and sales of publications generated about the same revenues. I think it is the same today, even if the funds are distributed in different structures.
- The observations made of the "foreign contribution" of the FCRA can be extrapolated to India in the same proportions.
Under these assumptions, outside India, the Sahaj Marg(tm) Multinational has a turnover rate of 8 to 9 million euros, a financial capital of € 43 million and 6 million in real estate 17 euros for the ashrams and the CREST Retreat Centers.
