Sahaj Marg: Denial of Self and Surrender to the Master

Translation of an article by Elodie: "Négation de L'Individu et Abandon au Maître", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Nov. 29, 2014

Denial of the Self and Surrender to the Master

You are an abhyasi of Sahaj Marg and you wonder about your practice? Do not tell anyone, especially do not share your doubts.

I have experienced that; it was in 2005, with the release of the first "Whispers".  In no time, I found myself on the witness stand.  Bad abhyasi with an oversized ego, I did not love Chari enough, I was causing him pain and I was doing harm to the Mission. In a word, I was accused of all the evils.

Do you have a question, a doubt?  Blame your ego. The answer does not change, it's always the same. The Whispers of Babuji, dead and buried for more than 30 years, says the same thing: "The resistance in some abhyasis sadly denotes an ego, let us hope that years of spiritual practice will bring a state of surrender to the mind."

A question, a doubt? Your ego is oversized, you must adopt a mindset of surrender, (you must) become a living-dead, as one with a dead body.

"What should be the ideal attitude of the abhyasi? According to the Master's own words: "he must be like a dead man in the hands of a funeral director." That is to say, the abhyasi should be like a dead body, free of personal desire, personal opinions and completely devoid of any resistance. Such an abhyasi is the ideal material because he offers no resistance of any kind, no more physical than mental, to the spiritual powers of the Master."

(Chari in: "My Master")

"The easiest and surest way to achieve the goal is to surrender to the Great Master and become oneself a living-dead.  (...)  The abandonment of self is nothing but a complete state of surrender to the will of the Master, with a complete lack of interest in oneself. Remaining permanently in this condition leads to the beginning of the denial of the self.  (...) In this state a man thinks and does what the will of his master orders him.  (...) He will be completely subordinated to the will of the Master.

(Babuji in: "The Role of the Abhyasi in Sahaj Marg")

Your ego is oversized, you have to surrender yourself in the hands of the Master, becoming a "living-dead". For that you need to perform a lot of work on your character and really surrender yourself  to the will of the Master.

This is the beginning of the state of denial of your ego, or self-neglect. Your will is subordinate to that of the Master, you do not think, and you do what the Master commands you.

You will not have any doubts or questions. They will tell you that you are participating in the egregore of Sahaj Marg, the collective entity devoid of individual egos.

This is wrong, they will simply have brainwashed you; (or gotten you to brainwash yourself) your ego has not disappeared, it will only be subordinate to that of the Master.

So,  you are an abhyasi and you wonder about your practice?  Do not tell anyone, especially do not share your doubts. Run Away! (Save yourself!)

Sahaj Marg: Everthing is Predicted but Nothing Goes as Planned!

Translation of an article by Élodie, "Sahaj Marg: Tout est Prévu, Mais Rien ne se Passe Comme Prévu",  on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Sahaj Marg: Everything is Predicted, but Nothing Goes as Planned

Last weekend, it's all we talked about at my home, the last whispers of Babuji, the bright future of the Mission and its future power. Here is some later research, where they are at,  in actuality:

After Chari's failed attempt, in his speech to the world of October 26th, to reassure his flock about the future of the mission, which ended in confusion (re: the recent Whisper (allegedly by Babuji) regarding the stated:  "fourth and final master"?), Babuji immediately took the floor. The Whispers of Babuji,  (allegedly from the Brighter World? or, as alleged by the "Anonymous French Lady Medium"), dead and buried for more than 30 years, manipulates the carrot and the stick in his messages of Oct. 29th and Oct. 30th, 2014 from the "Brighter World".

First the carrot of October 29th: "Do not concern yourself about these reactions concerning the future of the Mission; everything is predicted for her own good and that of all our faithful abhyasis in the world. Its major expansion will require a more structured implementation with senior officials in its different parts. (...) A high Hierarchy will ensure the cohesion of this essential structure for the proper functioning of the unprecedented spiritual empire it will become. It is not easy now to imagine what will be the future, but with regard to this wonderful path of Sahaj Marg, everything is for the best; we will make especially sure. Its power will be unprecedented: adapted to a new era,  and amazing in its effects. (...) "

Keep your confidence, your future and the future of the Mission are insured. Tomorrow, Sahaj Marg will be a spiritual empire, expanding to an astonishing and unprecedented power. A high Hierarchy  stands guard, cohesion will be provided by senior officials.

Implicitly, as in a mirror, it perfectly reveals the general feeling prevailing in the Mission: a lack of confidence and the egotistical fear of being abandoned, due to a deep fear for the future of the Mission, in its structure and it operation, a lack of cohesion causing its decay or its breakdown.

Then the stick October 30th: "Our very great son, Parthasarathi, a Master to all of you, has also greatly suffered in assuming the succession and the leadership of this great and beautiful Mission Sahaj Marg.  How can the fervent abhyasis, faithful Master in place, can not respect what has been long predicted and decreed by the higher authorities to ensure the succession when the time is right.  It is sad, after so many years, to come again to such adverse positions with respect to that. This aspect is serious and unsavory; let us hope that years of spiritual practices has brought a spirit of abandonment and especially of respect for our decisions by our real enthusiastic abhyasis.  The resistance in some abhyasis denotes a sad ego on a spiritual path suitable to bring them to the highest of their quest, which is not commonTo not grab this opportunity in life is unfortunate for the person and damaging for the whole Mission. (...) "

Some abhyasis, not fervent enough or loyal enthusiasts of the Master because of their ego, do not respect the decisions related to the succession (of the Mission?) taken by the higher authorities. It's sad, serious and unsavory, unfortunate for themselves and damaging to the Mission. In short, if all is not well, it is the fault of those bad abhyasis, as opposed to our true enthusiastic abhyasis.

Everything is planned (predicted?), we will make sure; but resistance and lack of respect for the decisions, is detrimental to the Mission. Everything is predicted, but nothing goes as planned.

In short, we must listen to the higher authorities, respect the officials and follow the decisions of the high hierarchy that will ensure the cohesion of the structure and its operation. Otherwise there will have to a "house-cleaning", to separate the real abhyasis from the bad

Welcome to spiritual dictatorship.

Sahaj Marg(tm) Exploits Fear!

Translation of an article by Elodie: "Le Sahaj Marg Exploite Les Peurs", on her blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

Sahaj Marg Exploits Fear

When Chari is critical of (other?) religions, which happens often with him, there is no going with the back of the spoon, it's all bad. With the rise in the media  of religious extremism and  fanaticism, it's a bit too simplistic and facile.  Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Christians, etc. are for the most part, people with eminently respectable beliefs.

When Babuji, long dead and buried for more than 30 years now, in his (or the "Anonymous Medium's") Whispers, is critical of the current world, he (she?) does not also go at it with the back of the spoon. Everything is bad, humanity is doomed, disaster is inevitable. In these times of economic anxiety, especially of financial and existential crisis, it's a bit too simplistic and facile. Pouring oil on the fire comes from a rather irresponsible and childish attitude.

These Prophets of the Apocalypse cultivate worries, fears and anxiety. They exploit our (people's) fear, this emotions generated so often by imaginary threats, to better enslave us (them?). Babuji and Chari throw oil on the fire so as to claim that there is no salvation outside of Sahaj Marg.

When prophets thrive, humanity sinks to its basest instincts; emanating from the most vile ideologies and the most detestable political regimes.

Message from Michael, Ex-Preceptor of Sahaj Marg on the "Obedience to the Mission"

I received this message from Michael Nov. 3, 2014.  Michael is an ex-preceptor of Sahaj Marg in the Boston, Mass., USA area (1979-1990).  Michael knew Babuji and was appointed preceptor by Chari.  Michael has a blog, Inner Circle of SRCM, where you can read his in-depth views on the early history of Sahaj Marg and SRCM.  Here he tells us what he thinks of "obedience to the Mission":

Nov. 3, 2014

Obedience To The Mission

I approach all my experiences on this life's Journey with gratitude. In my youth, I thought my spirit Journey began in 1979 when I approached SRCM– 19 years old, seeking spiritual training and guidance. Guidance was lacking. The aging Master, inaccessible. Dissension within the group was looming. Yet, within the first few months, I experienced an inner calm in my heart center. This would ultimately be my companion and guide. No experience in my subsequent 10 years in SRCM has held a candle to this early experience. It has remained so to this day, more than 30 years later. I left SRCM in 1990 after much disappointment and betrayal. When the Master demanded I be “obedient to the Mission”, I left and never looked back. In fact, my true Spiritual Journey began at that very instant. I am grateful for the push! I would not trade this Journey for anything.

I hear from so many current and former SRCM abhyasis who struggle in their effort to achieve something spiritual. Many suffer from trauma inflicted upon them in their association with SRCM, its preceptors and hierarchy. Some struggle with confused thinking and low self esteem. Yet, I believe each and every one has experienced a centered heart early on their practice. The internal struggle results from the pursuit of spiritual achievements beyond the simplicity of a centered heart. That centered heart is the only constant on a Journey that never ends. Further harm is done by demanding obedience to the Mission.

What is the purpose of this obedience? What has this Mission created? Vast real estate holdings? Publications irrelevant to anyone who does not share in obedience to the Mission? What has the Mission done to uplift Humanity that merits obedience to it? The Mission anoints spiritual trainers who are but beginners, with little or no training of their own. Its hierarchy has neither the compassion nor the patience to affirm the divinity that exists in every aspirant's heart. Instead they proclaim that the highest divinity exists only in the one Master, as if nature hoards its abundance in only one heart! They forswear their disciples as merely slaves of wishes, full of grossness, in need of cleaning.

This behavior is the antithesis of the ancient spiritual truth - The truth, which declares the heart as the true guide, where at its core exists the spark of the Infinite. Only when one affirms this truth does the Infinite Journey begin! When one pursues a spiritual goal, they step off this Journey. They risk mental anguish, trauma and even insanity. Obedience to the Mission is a dangerous distraction. The Mission serves only itself. It serves only to perpetuate myths that perpetuate obedience to itself. The truth is, there exists no divine master to take you to an ultimate spiritual goal, because there is no goal. There is only the Journey itself – which is Infinite, and the heart is the only true guide and Master.

Hyderabad, Future Capital of Sahaj Marg?

Translation of an article by Alexis: "Hyderabad, Capitale Future du Sahaj Marg?", on Elodie's blog in Europe: Pour Que Vive Le Sahaj Marg.

November 2, 2014

Hyderabad, Future Capital of Sahaj Marg?
A new article by Alexis: Codenamed "Kanha Shantivanam"

Under the code name Shanti Vanam Kanha (Kanha = Lord Krishna, Shanti = Tranquility, Vanam = Forest), one finds four charitable organizations (section 25 Societies) with very similar names, each led by different trios, but all located in or near Hyderabad: Kanha Shanti Vanam (KSV), created November 10, 2009, Yashoda Kanha Shanti Vanam (YKSV) and Radha Kanha Shanti Vanam (RKSV) both created February 10, 2010 and finally Devaki Kanha Shanti Vanam (DKSV) established March 12, 2010.

VS Mallick, co-director of KSV, who calls himself a preceptor of SRCM, is director of the charity project KSV since July 2008, the creator of a huge campus of about 500 acres (200 ha) around an Ashram and a colony for members of the Ashram which surrounds it.   Ulhas Rao Kumble, another co-director, is the Zone-in-Charge of the SRCM Hyderabad metropolis.

Information closer to what could be read on a real estate website: In the suburbs of Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) SRCM has 300 ha (750 acres) Thimmapur, 20 km south of the Rajiv Gandhi international airport of Shamshabad on the Bangalore National Highway NH7.

RKSV and YKSV are created on the same day, one on the campus of SRCM Tumukunta (Zonal ashram) at Shamirpet in Ranga Reddy district, the other at 36 Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. A month later the fourth and last is at 66 Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad still. One of its directors is none other than Madhu Kothapalli.

Of the 12 leaders of the four charitable organizations, many are important entrepreneurs. Anantha Kumar Dommety runs Trans-Domain Solutions since July 2002 (
http://www.transdomain.com). Siva Rama Vadlamani Mallick (Mallick VS) heads Intense Technologies since August 2009 (http://www.in10stech.com). Rajasekhar directs Kotagiri Nano Natrium Hydrogen Power (NNHP) since March 2013 and Madusudanarao Kothapalli directs Leiutis and other leading pharmaceutical companies, as we have already said (http://www.leiutis.com). Three of these companies are present in both India and the United States.

Chari's “Kanha Shanti Vanam” Project:

November 2010: “On arrival at the Hyderabad International Airport on the 11th morning, Master proceeded to the site of Kanha Shanti Vanam project, about 20 km. away. He appeared tired but cheerful as he walked into the small but beautiful cottage built under and around a tree.” (Echoes of India, January 2011)

August 2011: “On arrival Master proceeded to Gachibowli to carry out the registration formalities for the Kanha Shanti Vanam project. (…) On 19th August, after morning satsangh, Master met the Kanha project team and reviewed the  documentation. (…) On 20th August after breakfast, Master left for Kanha Shanti Vanam. The land has been cleared, fenced and papaya, maize and paddy have been planted. A small cottage has been built around a tree. Master sat outside and reviewed a sketch of the land. Master conducted the first satsangh at the site and also permitted the holding of regular Sunday satsangh henceforth. He went around the property and appreciated the way it was being maintained. He then returned to Br. Madhu Kothapalli's residence for lunch and rest.” (Echoes of India, November 2011)

June-July 2012: "He had planned to visit Hyderabad as the Kanha project was going very well and he wanted to do the registration work himself. (…) As he could not go to Hyderabad, he had invited the volunteers of the Kanha project to Gayatri on June 6th and had a long meeting with them and then gave them all gifts and congratulated them for making this project successful.” (Echoes Oceania, July 2012)

June-July 2013: “Master has been taking a keen interest in the land records relating to the Brahmand and Kanha projects as a result of which a new energy seems to have come into this effort. (…) A large scale model of Kanha Shanti Vanam was brought by the Hyderabad team and Master looked at it in great detail. He was impressed with the model and proudly called many abhyasis to see it and explained the various features to them.” (Echoes of India, September 2013)

So here we are plunged into the heart of one of Chari's colonial project of enclaves and living spaces. It seems that the first of them (projects)  relates to Hyderabad and the surrounding areas in Andhra Pradesh, to the point that the Babuji of Whispers announced that SRCM will be headquartered in Hyderabad in the future.

Whispers of a Babuji dated September 9, 2014 at 10: o'clock "(...) This Mecca in the Making of the future Mission (in Hyderabad) will have a special place, it will become the flagship, the drawing point of this mission in perfect connection with all other centers of the mission in this world. (...) "

SRCM has transformed itself into a  land and real estate agencyThe principle is simple: Real Estate Committees seek out real estate bargains and the legal and fiscal arrangements best suited. Then they create private companies who buy the land and then sell parcels of the colony to Abhyasis to cover the land acquisition, construction of an ashram, a cottage for the master or potential profits.

Under the code name "Kanha Shanti Vanam" in Hyderabad, no less than four so-called "charitable" organizations were set up to manage the project of living space, with 12 directors, including many investors and entrepreneurs ...
